  2. Hi all Does anyone have roof bars for sale or know of anyone that does? Ebay search done so a few options there but would rather pay a Lexus owner. Seasons greetings to all, I hope you have a peaceful break and thanks for a good year full of useful help and info.
  3. In 5 years of owning my IS250 I never ever got used to the positioning of the clock, it's just not where you instinctively look. Love the analogue one on the 300h though, has that Fabergé look about it. Or maybe I watch too much Antiques Roadshow 🙂
  4. I had 2 hand held spray bottles, the trigger type you use for your plants. In one was Muc Off diluted 50/50 which I use on my mountain bike, the other was just cold tap water. I had an old toothbrush, a small brass wire brush for the rusty bits, a few microfibre cloths and Car Plan trim wax plastic shine for all the rubber and black plastic bits. Finally a brown scotchbrite type pad for the aluminium. Just that, 2 hours and a bit of elbow grease. I didn't want any water going near the electrics or where I wouldn't be able to dry it so didn't use a hose or pressure washer. I did one side at a time. I'm now waiting for some ACF-50 to arrive so I can give everything a mist coat. Hope that helps
  5. One final pic, finished the underbonnet clean. Next job is to clay the roof to try and remove a couple of guano induced etchings. Also badly packed boot yesterday, Christmas shopping made a bid for freedom and a bottle of lime cordial disgorged its contents. Smells lovely but hoping that 1kg of silica gel will dry out the cleaned residue 🙂
  6. Welcome to the forum! I'm 3 weeks into my 300h ownership having enjoyed my is250 for the past 5 years. Really enjoying learning a new driving style with regenerative braking and noticing the increase in mpg over the purely petrol V6. Rear wipers aren't fitted to saloon cars for aerodynamic reasons, the gentler sloping back ensures the air flow over the roof will clear the rear screen but I know it's a pain until you get going. I keep a squeegy in the boot. I hope you get a lot of fun and enjoyment out of yours. Post pics when you can.
  7. I gave it a wipe over with a damp rag this morning, the paintwork looks ok in the pics but there are a couple of guano stains on the roof and it needs claying on the bonnet and boot. A few stone chips too but to be expected on a 3 year old car albeit low mileage.
  8. If you go for an alternative to the Bosch, it's important to check the terminals are in the same position as the one you are replacing
  9. I have a friend who works at the Fawley Esso refinery in the New Forest. Tankers from multiple outlets including but not exclusively supermarkets are filled there and they all get the same stuff. The 'supermarket petrol is inferior' line is nonsense. My car has done 163k miles on nothing but, has never had engine issues and still runs as smooth as a buttered banister.
  10. See pic, this is the battery you need. Changed mine 4 years ago and it hasn't missed a beat.
