  1. Or this, £50 cheaper, not sure how both of them can be 'genuine' though when one is 49Ah and the other is 45Ah https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GENUINE-LEXUS-IS300H-12V-BATTERY-45AH-AUXILIARY-BATTERY-28800-YZZQX-S46B24L-/383442806314?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  2. Is this a bit pricey? Looks like the real thing and available by Thursday if the trickle charge fails: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS300H-BATTERY-GENUINE-PANASONIC-12V-AUXILIARY-BATTERY-49AH-S46B24L-/383856512689?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
  3. 1st month is free access to all features even the pro ones. After that there is still a good level of free functionality and options for subscribing to the advanced stuff if needed. The Carista hardware is £24.99 from Amazon but I guess cheaper elsewhere
  4. You know what you're going to have to do don't you? Lock wife in the boot with a good torch, leave hosepipe playing on car around boot area. Go back an hour later and check 2 things: 1. Did she spot any water ingress? 2. Is she pleased to see you? Looking forward to the outcome of this strangely compulsive thread 🙂
  5. Bought and plugged in one of these today and had a little play. My android phone seemed to pick it up straight away but additional apps like Hybrid Assistant and Tire Assistant couldn't find the Carista without a bit of fiddling but all good now. One thing I noticed is that Carista gives all details to the TPMS so the Tire Assistant isn't really needed, see pics. Finally, has anyone opted for the Beta version? Any advantages?
  6. This is worth a read when you have an hour or two 🙂
  7. Excellent, that's the one. I think I'll leave mine where it is or it might end up looking like that one!
  8. I've looked at the repair schedule but it's inconclusive. I really don't want to remove the whole bumper assembly to get at screws behind it which is what you have to do for the grille. With a bit of luck it will prise off and snap back on again but I don't want to be the first to try it!
  9. I hadn't but will look into it now 👍
  10. Thanks, pretty sure it's within my skillset having restored a couple of classic cars. Thought there might be a designated paint code, if not I'll mix one up from the ones I have lying around
  11. Hi all Nasty stone chip at the base of the grille. I have the Mesa Red paint for the bodywork bit but does anyone know the code for the silver bit at the bottom?
  12. Why before April 2017? Mine is Sept 2017, did something change but not for the better?
  13. Am I right in thinking that if the paintwork has been properly corrected and then sealed then the beads shouldn't sit on any surface that is a few degrees above the horizontal like a car bonnet? I guess it's all down to reducing the surface tension between the top/clear coat and the water?
  14. I must admit I like the look of the beading but wondered why mine was the only car that looked wet 6 hours after the rain stopped yesterday. Thought I was doing something wrong!
  15. Great detailed reply (no pun intended), many thanks!
  16. Hi all I've been trying my hand at detailing my prized new possession to keep it looking it's best. Not got round to snow foam yet but intend to clay the whole surface when I get a day to myself. In the meantime I've hand washed it a couple of time (2 bucket method, sheepskin mitt, microfiber cloths etc) and also use Sonax brilliant shine detailer and a carnauba wax at various times. My question is, water beads beautifully on the paintwork but sits there all day, long after it's stopped raining. Surely it would be better if it sheeted away after a while so the beads don't dry on the paintwork? Am I over thinking it?
