  1. As the Hybrid health check is included in all dealer services, (I hadn't reaIised it was), I will go for the Essential Care service, that's £105.00 cheaper than the non-essentials. Thanks for all your replies.
  2. I am planning on keeping it, but don't want issues with the hybrid battery.
  3. I didn't think it did, but I'll check, thanks.
  4. I am just after opinions from fellow owners. My car, a January 2013 "62" reg, is due for it's 8th major service in September. I have checked My Lexus and the price is coming up as £415. The car has been overserviced if anything. By this, I mean, it should only be due this service in January 2021, however, it was serviced following sale the by the previous owner, so I have had to follow the anniversary of that which was September. The car has done 32k miles, so very low mileage. I am aware of the slightly cheaper "Essentials" service option, but believe you do not get the Hybrid health check with this, so would have to pay separately for that. I can't see what major things need to be done at 8 years, it seems a few things need to be done at 4 year intervals and some at 2, but nothing obvious to justify the price. So my options are, keep the Lexus service history up to date by having this service at the dealer, or go for the slightly cheaper Essentials service and consider the Hybrid check option or try Toyota, or an independent. What would you do if you were me?
  5. Well my mechanic friend asked around, and I told him about the weak bolt and the steering knock, which he'd heard of. Thankfully, that's what it was and all it took was for him to tighten up the bolt, a two minute job. If it happens again, I'll get him to replace the bolt. I would imagine if I'd have taken it to Lexus it would have been a very different story. . Thanks to Stompe for the link and everyone for your contributions. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  6. I found this on Youtube. It's obviously a common problem. Fingers crossed!
  7. That could just be it Stompe! A mechanic friend of mine has offered to take a look. I'll show him this post. I'll post back when I know more. Thanks guys.
  8. I've read about the heat shield, I don't think it's that as it's definitely coming through the steering wheel/column. Your issue sounds similar Brian. If you don't mind me asking, how much did the repair cost?
  9. Over the last few weeks, I've noticed that when I drive over an uneven road surface, I feel a vibration through the steering wheel and the car rattles? I don't notice this when going over speed bumps for example though. I had the car in for a service with Lexus a couple of weeks ago, they did the visual inspection and said the suspension was fine, but recommended I have all 4 wheels aligned, which I agreed to. I can't be sure when the problem started, in relation to the service, but it seems to be getting worse. If I turn the steering wheel very slightly left to right when stationary, I hear a noise, I'm not sure if this is normal. Can anyone advise what it could be? Shock absorbers? 10. You an actually find out the cost of servicing if you register an account at https://www.lexus.co.uk › my-lexus An intermediate service at my local Lexus service centre is coming up as £215 and a full service at £395 so that would work out at £825. You get free MOT's, when required, included with the service plan iirc.
  11. I noticed a terrible rattle one morning when the engine kicked in, similar to the video on the other post. The temperature hit -7 during the night. Hasn't done it since thank goodness. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  12. Mines on the frit to the right of the auto wiper sensor. Placing it there also helps to stop it overheating in the sun. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  13. I already have one, but that's a good price for anyone that needs one, and the adapted box is a bonus. They're like hen's teeth to find!
  14. I still need to hardwire my dashcam, and it's the aux fuse I need to piggyback onto I believe. I've got the kit but just need the piggyback fuse. Thanks for the tip about the fuse puller. Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  15. Not sure if these fit all but I have a couple of links https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-CT200h-Car-Textile-Floor-Carpet-Mat-Set-Black-New-PZ49C-Z0351-AG-/261867931137 and https://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-Lexus-CT-4x-Luxury-Carpet-Floor-Mats-2010-Present-Black-PZ49CZ0351AG-/252043486658 Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
  16. @floggit @Poundy Do you have rear privacy glass fitted?
  17. Lol! This reminds me of when I stored my winter car in the garage and swapped it for my summer convertible when the weather picked up. I had some foam pads that I placed where the car doors opened in my garage. This was pre Lexus CT days. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  18. Not the same make as mine but looks almost identical. Mine's an Apeman and I got it from Amazon. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  19. I have a unit that has a separate rear cam that is powered by, and wired to, the front cam, but is mounted on the rear window. The front cam is 1080p but the rear is 720p. The rear privacy glass means the picture isn't as clear as it could be, but I can make out number plates, which is the most important thing. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  20. I hate car parks too. I call myself an unsociable parker, by that I mean I park miles away from anyone and prefer to walk rather than park next to someone. I know that's not always possible, but this is what happens when you're forced to. Glad you managed to remove the scuff, this time. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  21. Thanks for the replies. As I suspected then, it's just the dealers trying to get a bit more money out of us. I do have it on all year, not just in the Summer months, so hopefully as long as it stays cold I should be OK. I've noticed that some of the Groupon and such deals for air con regassing say they don't cover hybrids, would that be because of the gas used? I wouldn't trust a Kwik Fit type place to do the job in any case and would get it done by the dealer if it needed doing. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  22. I've had my car just over two years now, it's a January 2013 reg. Each time I take it to Lexus, for service, MOT, they recommend I have the air con serviced, but as the air con works perfectly and is cold, I decline. I'm just wondering, how often should the air con be serviced? Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  23. I couldn't get the trim panel off. I pushed a catch in, with some force I might add, it disappeared inside and the cover still wouldn't come off. Hope you have better luck than me Roy. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
