  1. Welcome to the madhouse. Mine should be up for sale by Evans Halshaw soon. At least that's what I was told. It's been a week without it and I'm still depressed. With the X in the bodyshop I'm having to drive my trusty shed car and it's just not the same
  2. A clean black car will always give a nice reflection etc. Silver on the other hand They do make a decent difference, the stock exhaust is fairly restrictive and the headers even more so.
  3. Yawn, silver is boring! Interesting. My brothers XFR was dyno'd at nearly 600bhp after the aftermarket exhaust was fitted. We've had a few "runs" over the past year and there seems to be very little between the two cars.
  4. Once again proving that black is the best colour for a thundering V8 saloon....
  5. Asking price and sale price are completely different things.
  6. Did a deal on the car today but the exhaust is being switched back to stock. Shame really given how sweet it sounds but the trade in price stays the same regardless of stock or aftermarket. I guess the custom exhaust will find its way to an auction site near you soon
  7. I went with genuine Brembo discs and Hawk ceramic pads for the front. Never got round to fitting the Brembo rear discs, really should dig them out and get them on eBay. Edit - I got my discs from Eurocarparts. They have 30% off yet again this weekend so worth having a look.
  8. Having spent a bit of time behind the wheel of an XFR I must say the idea of a proper XER with the full fat 5.0 supercharged V8 is appealing. I was out in my brothers XFR earlier tonight, mini tunnel run with him driving the ISF The engine in the XFR is an absolute nutjob, shedloads of torque. His car has Mina Gallery backboxes and sounds rather angry. The ISF is a lot higher pitched in comparison. It's a shame Lexus haven't introduced a supercharged V8, will be interesting to see how the aftermarket kit from RR Racing fares.
  9. I called H&S before I went with the local option and they quoted me nearly £1500 for the same system, the price difference and logistics made it a no brainer to stay local. I spent ages looking at different systems, reading endless reviews/posts and watching hours of videos on YouTube. In the end I decided I liked the Joe Z one but after shipping and import duties it would have been over £2000. X Force do a copy with built in valves on the backboxes but they aren't sold over here and the European stockists were utterly useless. I rang the office in Germany several times and was never even give a price let alone a lead time. The Novel setup is a work of art but dear lord that price is almost equal to the value of the car!
  10. He does some awesome work. Saw some tasty projects being worked on during my trips there. Sadly no high flow cats for me as the car is for sale. I have moved on to a new toy - I had the secondary cats removed on mine, no issues with drone and passed an MOT fine with Lexus Leeds.
  11. Cheers folks. The system was built by http://www.stgperformance.co.uk/ and cost £850. I did a taster session at Silverstone late last year and the exhaust didn't cause me any issues with the db limit even with the valve open. It's made tunnels and multistorey car parks a lot more enjoyable
  12. Figured I should update this! Ended up having it done in two stages. First the exhaust and then had a valve fitted later on. This is what it looked like after stage one - We ended up going with one valve (on the left side before the backbox) as there isn't adequate space for a second on the right hand side. Remote controlled but I've left it open pretty much. A quick video clip I took on the weekend.
  13. Cheers. It's a custom one made locally and based on the Joe Z design which is popular across the pond.
  14. Not a picture but I finally got round to getting a quick clip of my exhaust Makes my Evo X sound unbelievably dull in comparison!
  15. It's the niggly bits that need doing on higher mileage cars that would put me off. I've owned a few well built high mileage cars including a cracking Jaguar XJR and bits like bushes and cam cover seals needed doing after 100k onwards.
  16. I'm on the list at number 109 but I may have to pull out. I'm at a mates wedding the day before, trying to work out what time it's likely to end and if I'll be able to get enough kip before the early start down to Silverstone from Leeds.
  17. Thanks. It sounds even nicer than it looks, that V8 rumble is sublime I honestly don't see the prices dropping big time. They are a rare car to begin with and are significantly cheaper than the equivalent M3 or C63 to begin with.
  18. As others have said look for regular service history and see if the water pump has been changed. The black 58 plate for sale on AT with 41k on the clock and an aftermarket exhaust is a bargain for the money
  19. Most memorable drive in the ISF was probably the impromptu mini hoon I had a few months back with two of my mates. Last of the autumn sunshine, 3 completely different cars and some superb Yorkshire countryside roads. The howl of the ISF and the sublime blip when downshifting in sports mode was the icing on the cake. Took this snap after we parked up in our old local for a drink and a chat.
  20. Mods will mean it's likely an ex club car. The illuminated sill plates have been retrofitted by a few other folk on here.
  21. Already own all that stuff :D Sadly yes, I do question why whenever I take it for a drive but the Evo is more suited for my plans this year.
  22. Silver is beyond boring even when clean. Black on the other hand...
