Cera tec paste can help as well. I had horrible squeal on some Evo brembo calipers a few years back and the paste helped a lot. That and bedding the pads in properly, although that in itself was an interesting experience!

I can’t remember where it was but I do remember the owner posting pics after buying it. This will have been late 2016/early 2017.

Where is this please?
John
Somewhere in the Yorkshire Dales, I forget where exactly but we set off towards Hawes, stopped off at the Wensleydale factory for some cheese and then drove around for a while. One of my mates was co piloting the 4C, another friend was driving his Elise. Lucky to be blessed with some fantastic roads here in Yorkshire with great scenery to match!

My ISF was my daily driver -
After the ISF this was my daily driver -
That was then followed by this little Italian number -
6 months of using it as a daily I sort of lost the plot and switched to this -
Hopefully by this time next week I’ll be in an ISF again. I’ve never been able to run a regular car alongside a fun one. It’s always been all (as you can see in the first 3 pics above) or nothing (like the last pic).

@ColinBarber As regards the isF's in 2016/17 I enquired about that and was told they would be Jersey/Guernsey or Isle of Man cars 👍
🐀
Yup, I tipped off both owners of those cars when they were up for sales and both brough them over.
Shame to see that so few GS-F’s were sold. Yet to see one on the road. Only seen a handful of RC-F’s too. As for the ISF I saw around around this time last year when I was out hammering my Evo X in the Yorkshire countryside.

The SMG setup does have some quirks but I was quite drawn to it, with the right software tweaks it’s a rather decent thing.
Buying another 08 ISF from a fellow forum member. Same colour combo as my last one just a few more miles on this one. It has a H&S exhaust fitted, will see how I get on it. I had a custom one made for my last one with a remote valve so may tweak the H&S one.
After 6 months of driving a little electric car I’m looking forward to driving a quick car again.

Thanks for the posts chaps. It has made me think that £306 for discs and pads all round for a Lexus ISF is suspiciously cheap! So much so, I'm going to delay the purchase, and actually might source OEM discs from Lexis and Hawks pads for Cambridge Motorsport.
I used front discs from ECP along with hawk pads and never had any issues even when on track (it was only a quick track session but still)

I know the trade versions of Dulux paints are very different from the 'standard' DIY versions but they are also labelled differently and cost significantly more, even from the likes of B&Q.
It's very misleading to base judgements of quality on the price charged, as the likes of B&Q have massive purchasing power and also often sell at 'special' prices to drive sales.
I think you’ve quoted the wrong person there.

I know there’s no tone in a message so please don’t take this the wrong way as it’s only what I’m led to believe, dulux paint from Homebase or B&Q is in a sealed pot, it’s still a second grade paint compared to dulux centres paint, I’m also of the opinion if it’s to good to be true it normally is, but like I say that’s just “my” take on it.
No worries, sorry if mine came across as arsy.
The paint debate is interesting, my mates dad is a decorator and he sticks with Dulux Centre stuff. However with ECP I’ve never had an issue with any part I’ve bought from them. None of my trusted mechanics have ever refused to fit the parts either. I’ll personally be very surprised if they are seconds, I think ECP work on low overheads and higher volume hence the cheaper prices.

ECP selling seconds is nonsense. There was nothing wrong with the discs I bought from them for my last ISF. They came in sealed brembo boxes

I had no issues with the SMG box when I drove one. My issue with the inflated values, in comparison the ISF values have dropped and I can’t see them dropping much further before they slowly increase.
Granted I never keep a car that long. I still regret selling my last ISF so it makes sense to try another and see how long I keep it this time.

I tried one out, only a short test drive but it seemed like fun. However I think the market is stupidly inflated. Way too many examples being advertised as having “investment potential”.
As a result all the cars for sale seem to be overpriced to me and I fear the market will fall on it’s arse so I’ll go with an ISF for now.

As you already know, its nothing for a looked after modern engine, some of the taxi guys are running cars to 250--300k on basic servicing without problems, I am sure the Lexus V8 at 91k will be fine for years to come.
Yup. I have every faith in it. I have a track record of changing cars too often but I’ll be trying to keep the ISF for a while.
-
91k, I think my last one was around 41k when I sold it.

What colour and age did you go for?
Velvet black and 2008. My last one was the same colour and age. This one has slightly more miles than my last one though!

My last ISF didn’t really get any attention. The 4C Spider on the other hand got way too much. The Evo X that I owned in between those two cars got the worst kind of attention as it was heavily modified.
I like the Q car nature of the ISF, a while back one of my colleagues was telling me how fast his Mercedes C250 diesel coupe was. I pointed at the ISF and told him it was faster, he disagreed until I told him what engine it had. He had been under the impression that it was a basic Lexus with a small engine!

Have you got yours yet?
The ISF? Nope, picking it up next Saturday. The owner was busy today and needed some time to get his private plate removed.
-
A short clip of you revving would do, I’m wanting to hear how it compares to my old one -
The F I’m collecting next weekend has a H&S exhaust fitted. I may modify it though as I’m not sure on the design.

Had a look around one recently whilst at Donington for the BTCC. Front end is sublime, not so sure on the back. The previous shape (FK2) was parked nearby, I prefer the styling of the FK8.
Saw the race car during the pitwalk. The bodykit on that thing is immense -

I should be able to get to Lexus Cheltenham for 17:30 on the Saturday. Is anyone likely to be around then or will the event be over?
My train to Gloucester gets in for 16:12, I’m allowing for an hour to look over and test the drive the car and do the deal. Dealership is around 20 mins from there.

I had a late 1997 LS400 earlier this year with over 180k on the clock. A few bits were a tad tired but on the whole it was still in good condition.
I imagine a high mileage ISF would be fine. Plenty of them across the pond.

Looks like I’m set on the ISF. Heading to Gloucester (just my luck to never find something local) next Saturday to view and hopefully purchase the one that I’m interested in.
Having spent almost 6 months driving a Renault Zoe as a daily (and a few miles in other cars) it will be nice to get back into something quick again.

It’ll take some going on the ISF, this is what I got on a “spirited” drive on my last one -
