Well, Lexus seems to be doing pretty well on that CO2 front dont they.. Thing is, you have been bashing the car you will soon be choosing relentlessly so thats a bit hypocritical isnt it? Another option would be to buy a private car maybe a 640D and claim expenses. Really looking forward to your statistics on that one.

Hey Rayaan, it could well be possible that some people have a different opinion than yours..

Hey Linas, Lighten Up Man... A car is more than just digits and i personally could not give a toss about consumption, statistics and other non issues. in case of a coupe the only ( ONLY) thing that is important is looks. We all know it will be less practical than a 4 door or Suv so LOOKS are all it needs. Renato, you worded it just right it transports you comfortably and elegantly and that is what a coupe is all about. ( Please please can you post a pic of your beauty..) If life would be all about consumption i suggest to buy a 320d, also very useful if you cannot get to sleep, just look at your car for 5 mins and ..zzzzzzzz

I do feel sorry for allen, 7 chips in only 1500 miles feels bad. Can be road/traffic related of course but nevertheless if this would happen to me or to you i am sure we would feel absolutely gutted. No statistic would dampen that. My advice would be to drive your car to the dealer and poilitely ask them about their opinion. A true Lexus dealer would offer a respray for sure.

Shame it is no longer available as it was on my shoppinglist to replace my IS300H. Dont want to buy thesame car again so it was a strong contender. -
Just saw the JD Powers 2017 list with Lexus on a 16th place just behind toyota.... Did Lexus not dominate this list for years and years??

Car theft..... living in the eighties??
dutchie01 replied to Vintagesixtysix's topic in Lexus General Discussions
latest in Holland is the Bearlock. It locks the gearbox solid can be unlocked with a key and is internal. Lexus dealers install this for 750 euro. Cartheft over here is well down but maybe that is because they dont take the car they just strip it completely. Bumpers, fenders, wheels, complete ( and i mean complete) interiors. Wake up in the morning go to your car only to find out it is just completely stripped. Seems to be on order also. one week only GPS systems, next week steeringwheels then complete fronts of VW poloś etc -
Hi John, my point was the amount of money in this case. I do know money is relative and expensive for one is cheap for another but really...... 1250 pounds for a great looking luxury barge with 8 cylinders that, even if you have to spend another 1k, can give you several years of wafty luxury motoring. For 1250 pounds..

Rattling front passenger seat
dutchie01 replied to IS300Hdriver's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
I find it disappointing that the IS range is not 100% rattle free. Lexus used to be the relentless pursuit of perfection and the undisputed champion in Noise, Vibration Harshness as enormous amounts were spent to create an environment that was truly unique in the automotive world. Not sure about the current GS range but maybe my 2011 IS250 was the last one of that era. That car felt like it was built from one piece, rocksolid with doors closing like a bankvault. I drove it for 4 years and no rattles or any noise, just nothing. It felt special. The IS300H F-sport i now have is a great car in its own right, i like it. However the build quality is not on thesame level and yes, there can be the occasional noise from different types of plastic in the cabin. There seems to be more Toyota in this one than Lexus... -

Rc-f's Taken A Big Hit!
dutchie01 replied to rayaans's topic in Lexus RC Owners Club / RC 200t / RC 300h Club
There does not seem to be a lot of demand for the RC let alone the RC F. When dealers find it difficult to sell new cars, thesame will go for used vehicles. The market is just too small, no demand, therefore these cars depreciate faster than the competition. When there are no buyers you can decrease whatever you want but it wont help. I expect thesame to happen to the LC500. Most likely these cars will end up with a small group of enthusiasts when pricelevels have bottomed out !!! -
Lexus salesfigures 2016
dutchie01 replied to dutchie01's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
More than half of Lexus production is SUV or Trucks as they call them in the States. Like with all brands people want SUV s. the sedan is dead, the sportscars are dead ( ever wondered why you can buy 700 hp Suvs these days, these are the new "sportscars". the CT is by far the worst car in the Lexus line up and only sells if tax benefits are there. On topic, i personally think the NX and RX are too close together, it takes a connaiseur to recognize them they look almost thesame size and the love or hate styling makes them difficult to sell in Europe. Not so in the States where they sell like hot cakes. -
Lexus salesfigures 2016
dutchie01 replied to dutchie01's topic in Lexus IS 300h / IS 250 / IS 200t Club
As the Lexus IS is a direct competitor to the BMW 3 series we could compare the two. Lexus IS last year 2408 units. BMW 3 series roughly 50,000, So, it takes BMW some 2 weeks to shift thesame amount of cars that Lexus does in a year. If we then also know that only two ( 2) % of global Lexus sales end up in the UK we could draw the conclusion that the UK market is pretty irrelevant to them. I think the Lexus Brand must be heavily subsidised by Toyota as it seems almost impossible to me to make money with those figures. We seem to be more exclusive than we realize! -
For those that are interested. UK - Lexus IS total sales in 2016 - 2408 cars. All Lexus models in 2016 Uk adds up to 13.913 cars. To put this into perspective we can take the BMW UK sales all models in 2016 of 182.593 Lexus total European sales were 44.287 cars of which 6234 were IS. The vast majority of all Lexus cars end up in the states with 331.228 units sold. Total Global Lexus sales were around 658.000 units. so roughly 2% of this ends up in the UK. If we look at the IS with 2408 units in 2016 it might be interesting to know that an top premium brand like Porsche moved 13700 units in 2016. So, if you were in doubt if your IS was exclusive or not, now you know! Feel free to draw your own conclusions...

Lexus Nx True Mpg
dutchie01 replied to jawadarif's topic in Lexus NX300h / NX200t / NX350h / NX450h+ Club
IS300H is 1595kg. NX300h some 100kg heavier and if you take 4wheel drive another 100 or so, so 200kg more than the already heavy IS. You need fuel to move that weight. the there is the drag coefficient of 0.29 to 0.32 for the NX. As the NX is higher the frontal area is much bigger than the low IS so needs more power/fuel to push it through the air. last point they do not have thesame engine, the IS has some 30horses more so the weaker NX engine has to work harder that the IS for thesame result. the higher torque of a diesel engine could possibly suit a heavy SUV better as always pull on tap at almost no revs but then again if i drive an NX in town i happily float along with traffic. -
