  1. Thats a pretty impressive bike Gang
  2. Incredible but true. Mercedes Benz Yesterday announced an investment of 70 billion (!) for EV development in the next 5 years. This is now a game for the big boys
  3. I find the lightspeed development of EVs highly fascinating. It is big, very big and it seems just the beginning. Already you see 0- 60 levelling out around 7 seconds ( ID3/4) Kia/Hyundai etc and the range seems to increase with every new model coming out. Such a terrible shame Lexus has nothing on offer at the moment. A Lexus EV that will blow your socks off would be a wonderful thing. Top notch buildquality with the Lexus image, what could go wrong? I also expect a great industry in dealing with batterypacks. Not sure after how many years ( maybe 8?) the batterypack would need replacement but i am convinced those will be available at realistic prices?
  4. Hey Linas, Ganzoom! Savagegeese has a new video out on the tesla model3. This time about the top end performance model and the autopilot. Any Thoughts?
  5. IS/CT/RC will be continued in the UK as EV ?
  6. Easy money, Car Finance, Creditcards, Personal Loans and Double Mortgage on your house!
  7. Sounds like a nice hobby project and there are some companies doing this already. Mainly classics cars where money is not that important. For mainstream use i think it is useless. There are so much more topics apart from tearing out the old drivetrain and petroltank. Safety, balance and weight, crash performance and of course economy. Nice challenge though. If somebody is up to it pics please!
  8. The ID3 was scheduled for launch in the spring. VW discovered software issues and could not release the cars and canceled the official launch. In the meantime production continued resulting in thousands and thousands of cars quarantained and stored on German fields. Pics of this showed up in the German press. All parked vehicles received softwareupdates done by laptop. After this the green light was given and dealers are now trying to push through the backlog cars into the market. Therefore the discount. VAG group is rushing the introduction of EV vehicles especially as the ID3 is a volume model that will push the overall Co2 figure down.
  9. Tulip Mania. The term Tulip Mania is now often used metaphorically to refer to any large economic bubble when asset prices deviate from intrinsic values. WIKIpedia
  10. Totally agree David. 2021 could be the year they will be overtaken by the automotive competition pumping out all sorts of EVs. Already in Europe the best selling EV is no longer a Tesla but the brandnew Volkswagen ID3. VAG group alone will have 75 (!) different EVs on the market in 3 years time.
  11. And they have thesame chemistry top gear had in the early days. and all that beeing independent
  12. Thanks Herbs, never too old to learn
  13. https://youtu.be/9z1R0G_RCFw In the above link you will find the new review of the Lexus LFA by the Savage Geese team. It also gives all F cars a role. It is a short movie in itself. it is Brilliant. I cannot copy the clip from this computer but maybe someone else can arrange? above is the link or just youtube to savage geese!
  14. Tomorrow. Youtube. Savage Geese. Lexus LFA. Be There.
  15. Not sure where but I read somewhere that the IS/RC will be discontinued. So, what about your next car? I am thinking about an Audi Q4 Etron?
  16. Mr Elon, Mr Elon..... Not sure but is this thesame Mr Elon that thinks Covid is a joke, forces his employees to show up at work regardless of whatever on risk of beeing sacked? takes no measures to prevent Covid at his factories forces people to work 60 hours a week, sacks staff in the moment. Thesame Mr Elon that allows staff to stay at home for a maximum of 80 hours that then will be subtracted from own holidays? thesame that thinks a shutdown is a fascist measure, denies a covid outbreak at the US plant? Is this the guy that created a cult following around the world?
  17. Well, its an achievement designing a car that is so incredibly hideous, ugly, unbalanced, and apparently build from 3 deifferent cars! Not everyone can do that!
  18. Further to the EV Extravaganza.. Salesfigs EU market first 3 quarters lust in. and guess what? EU sales for full Electric Vehicles VAG group 87k renault/nissan/mitsubishi 83k tesla 63k marketshare tesla went from 34% to 13% Sales the netherlands last month VW ID3 2789..Tesla model 3 - 33. Model X and S neglectable.
  19. Blackmail?? Theft?? heres another one. at night i steal your left frontwheel and in the morning i knock on your door morning you can have it back for 300? would you go tothe police?
  20. little chance. we have to remember that Lexus is operated as a global brand alike toyota. The USA and China are the main areas but Japan, wider Asia and the middle east also play their role. European sales are good for 11% ot the total volume and the UK? Less than 2 %. Also, There is no 1 Europe. For a non European manufacturer it will be complicated to be successful as most markets have home production and national preferences. Think Germany, France, Italy. So any decision about range/models/engines is made with Global interest only. ( here you also have why Lexus is not in a hurry with EV) On top of that customers just dont want saloons anymore and everybody wants a crossover/suv. As Lexus always need a solid businessmodel that is what they will develop and build. At the moment 70% of all is Crossover/Suv. Regarding the new IS it is a heavily reworked IS not a new model. I guess they will let this model roll out until sales dry up and thats it. I personally think this is the best IS ever and if it would come to this side of the ocean i certainly would go for it. But... The outgoing IS was no success and the "new"model is too old under the skin to be competible with the 3 series etc.
  21. With all respect for Tesla but its small change really as the German powerhouses have come on steam. VAG announced yesterday they will invest 60 BILLION euros in the next 4 years to develop electric/hybrid cars and digital technologies. They plan to build 75 variants of electric car and 60 hybrid vehicle models. Tesla could be the lonely cyclist that escaped the peloton in the cycling race. Once the peloton comes on steam there is no stopping them..
  22. Apart from the drivetrain, i do like the car itself. Great design, Rwd and apparently on shortened chassis from the lexus LS. Interior looking spot on as well. This car could have been badged Lexus in my idea. Wasnt there a study of an hydrogen LS some time ago? I wonder why they badged it toyota. It is shorter/smaller than the LS maybe an LS Hydro to follow?
  23. Indeed, and the Tesla looks like a Vauxhall!
