I was wondering how many of you would take the Lexus on a summer holiday. In the current situation it seems most people do not take a plane and choose to drive to wherever that may be. I will stay where i am and see how the situation will develop, am aiming on September/October to go South of Europe. What about you? International road-trips? Lake district or Coastal trip or just stay put like me?

What is " proper self defence" ? Kill them with fire? Chainsaw maybe? Axe? Or like in the states grab one of your 20 guns and pump the intruder full of lead like in the movies? Think i will call the police myself and stay upstairs.. -

I wonder how many RR owners will shout "Hooray, its gone! come and have a look dear, its finally gone! My personal worst fear would be thieves entering the house. In the end its only a car so if they really want it take it. My BMW was stolen some years ago. I walked towards the car in the morning and i noticed a car parked next to it with a guy sitting in it. As we live in a very quiet neighbourhood this was strange. Never saw him before. Next morning my car was gone. I am convinced he was reading my key with an infrared scanner when i opened it up. Glad he didnt enter the house looking for the key though! -
www.lexus-mapupdates.eu hope that will help David. Congrats with your car you will not regret it, i loved mine. Bulletproof reliability, bankvault like build quality and butterysmooth engine, a true Lexus.

I like it although i would not own one of them myself. In Japan there is a car subculture called BOSOZUKU. Enthusiasts modifying their cars without limits and in my idea balancing towards pure art. Nothing to do with daily driving , mechanical improvements just looks and totally bizarre styling. Got a Celsior? why not chop off the roof lower it to the floor too big wheels, exhaust pipes of 3 meters high lets have fun! you do the paintwork? Google Bosozuku and be surprised!

FIFA is all about honesty. here we have Mr Blatter in the underground boardroom in the FIFA headquarters in Switzerland. A building straight out of a Bond movie. Annual turnover FIFA around 5 billion USD. They make their money through the sale of television, marketing and licensing rights and have very low expenses as all infrastructure costs are left to the host countries. They are registered as a charity organization thus pay no taxes in swiss. In organizing events they demand a tax free bubble so NO taxes are paid at all in the host countries. Qatar total cost for the home country estimated at 140 billion sterling. What could possibly go wrong?

My wife one day came home telling me there was a red warninglight on her BMW 1 series. I went out to have alook and it was a red symbol and written warning about tyrepressure reduce speed etc. The left front tyre literally had no air whatsoever but did have a "slit"in it like someone stuck a knife in it. Morale of the story she could drive home.. In developing the set up and chassis of the car the tyre manufacturers are deeply involved. The car will be designed with rf tyres and just for that fact alone i would not change to non rf. RF tyres are more expensive and the ride is stiffer but if that is what the manufacturer is going for i myself would not change this. Personal choice of course maybe i am too conservative?

Congratulations with the second spot and i mean that without irony. I found the game entertaining but not high quality football. The whole tournament was a bit like that really. Holland, Spain, France, Germany all fell through. Strong individual players ( especially France) but no team. Belgium was slightly above that but Denmark and Switzerland i really liked. more team spirit than talent but it can reach far in a tournament. And i miss the player of the tournament, the one everybody wants to see, the new kid on the block that all of a sudden is in the spotlights. All a bit bland really. Anyway here's to Qatar next year, the country with an exciting football league of its own!

500 miles a week in a Honda Civic Diesel? Could be me but if my commute would be that long and i would have to spend that amount of time in the car every day there are more things important than penny saving. Comfort, relaxation stress free motoring and safety to name a few. A Civic Diesel? and calling an RX 450h from 2011 with under 42k miles an " old worn out SUV that will give you a long list of running costs and headaches" ?? I am not sure Mr Powell is a motoring journalist? -
Interesting David. Can you let us know what went wrong 5 times in 2 weeks?

If only the NX looked like this.

Shame they didn't use wider tyres and made it a little lower. -
Seems to be in final development stage and basis is the toyota/subaru GT86. The 2.4 boxer four will be maintained and teamed up with an electric motor thus creating a hybrid. Will any of the Forum members be interested in this car? Linas?

Were doomed! DOOMED!

Good question and indeed why not? If cars dont need maintenance and are like fridges or washingmachines why do you need a dealer? a garage at all?

Iḿ going for Ali Express as it is the cheapest and comes in the post

Odd French behemoth seen earlier.....
dutchie01 replied to superatticman's topic in Lexus Owners Club Lounge
hmmmm..... designed and produced by Matra from 2001 to 2003. Low sales but expected therefore not produced at Renault. In todays cardesign the CX value needs combined with one box styling. Crossovers with batteries. Just look at the majority of all cars launched today. Take the badges off and try to guess the brand! Cars like the Velsatis avantime but also peugeot 1007, fiat multipla etc were styling excercises and a breath of fresh air in their time! ( the doors of the avantime were an engineering piece of art but also horribly stupid ..) -

The Dacia's and the VelSatis and Avantime could not be further apart. The latter two were apparently projects from someone in the board leaving his own mark on the brand, a bit like all French presidents doing some prestige building at horrific expense ( taxpayers money though). Both cars are full of French quirkiness and the designers most likely got the instruction to do all different than normal. Needless to say both cars failed hopelessly as nobody was interested. Dacia on the other hand just produces what customers are asking for nothing more nothing less. Cheap transport for the masses. They now even have a BEV, the Spring and of course sold at rock bottom prices. Honest products and nobody expects more than what they promise. So far dacia is a storming success by listening to their customers. -
https://www.classicandsportscar.com/features/inside-vauxhalls-space-age-srv-concept John, many moons ago i did visist a motorshow with my father. I must have been 10 years old then. We stumbled into somehing that made a lasting impression on me, the Vauxhall SRV concept. We admired the car but when the door opened we were blown away! That Dash! all those switches, dials, and in the DOOR! Incredible if we would have the money we would have bought it. My dad spoke to a bearded long haired Vauxhall representative and asked what would happen when somebody hits the car and smashes the door? Reply was a bit sobering.. just get a new door of course. My point is that in all those 50 years nothing changed really... Its all show and that sells. The new Merc S class will sell on the digital dash alone. Most customers will never ever use all options but that is not the point as it impresses. Strange if you think of it, you cannot use a mobile phone when driving but operating touch screens is no problem?

Not satisfied about Lexus dealers? Try Mercedes Benz for a change. Tried (!) to buy a car in one of their shiny million euro palaces last Friday and was refused a testdrive. Sorry Sir but you will understand that we will have to reach financial agreement before that? How do you mean i have to buy the car before i can have a go? Exactly Sir! Needless to say i wished them all the best with their excellent customer service and left. The arrogance was just unbelievable. This was in The Netherlands, no idea if the UK MB organisation has reached this level as well.... Next day we bought an Audi Q2, its my wifes car would have preferred an UX but these are still above my pay level!

Also depends on the suspect i guess. A sparrow produces a civilized signature but when a heron opens the bomb hatch its like someone just threw a full bucket of wall paper glue over you car. Utterly disgusting especially when driving and the wipers have to smear it off the windshield.. Ugh!
