  1. Interesting post Igor, so who if you have to mention some, are your most entertaining drivers? Like Senna one side, Prost the other side? Here are some of mine. Hunt, Villeneuve, Verstappen, Piquet, Mansell, Senna, Schumacher, Norris. the other side. Lauda, Prost, Hamilton, Rosberg ( both), Bottas, Hill, Vettel, Raikkonen. Some drivers want to win every duel, every corner and take the risk, some think, calculate and plan they journey in advance. Some are truly wild personailities living on the edge enjoying the high life, the danger, the lifestyle. Some seem to got there accidentaly are silent, have a family and but become champion nevertheless. Nothing to do with talent, just how they are.
  2. Anarchy in the UK. Regardless of the topic it seems to be all about ME nowadays. Me, me, me. I have the right, My opinion is the best, Me first, the collective does not seem to exist anymore, Me before everything else. I remember different times.
  3. Vlad, why did you go back to an IS300H after the first very negative experience?
  4. ooof, i was just about to ask you the address where i could go to!
  5. My wife had an A2, a car way ahead of its time. She had a petrol but i think it even came with a tiny 3 cyl diesel! 20 years ago! Special car and fun to drive very light. Toyota IQ comes to mind. Strange isnt it that when you need to make achoice for a new car it is always extremely difficult. In your case as you dont really need one and will not do miles the milage of the car is less important than the overall state. I would go for a classic that could be driven as a daily. Something from the eighties, Alfa giulia, volvo estate, Lada Niva(!), Saab 99 turbo or maybe something from the states Chevy C10? choices choices
  6. I find the ES300H a very refined, balanced and sophisticated car. The engine/drivetrain is totally unobtrusive, the changeover from electric to petrol not recognisable, the comfort a bit on the floaty side on the highway and it is earily silent. Its front wheel drive but you will not notice, the whole drive is a bit of a non event and strange as it sounds i mean this as a compliment. Show me one car in thesame pricerange that offers thesame experience.. On the other side its not perfect. The looks are not for everyone, the engine could do with some more horses and the interior could do with higher quality materials ( The 2022 model seems to have an updated interior with better materials). It is a very tempting car nevertheless. It has 2 big pros, reliability and it is more exclusive than a Ferrari!
  7. I do try Malc, but they cannot give me a leadtime! Apparently they have no chips, are out of aluminium and do not have enough workers to build it! And on top of that a used one is almost more expensive than a new one!!
  8. Is it possible to get the cigarette odor out of a car interior? Like, when potentially buying a used car then open the door and oh no, someone has been smoking her for years. That idea..
  9. Hah, now thats a statement! Cant agree i think its a fine car but with some drawbacks. Not enough torque for the weight of the car which makes the revs go wild when overtaking for instance.Engine could be more powerful and its getting a bit old now but replacement is round the corner. Friend of mine has an NX and drives to spain and back average 5 times a year. Never missed a beat!
  10. Well, there was no need for Lewis to do so was there as the only competition could come from a teammate. Not a lot of pressure on him for 6 of the 7 titles just cruise happily to another championship ( nico rosberg succeeded once). I think Schumacher was more all or nothing and Hamilton is probably the best all rounder, good at everything from wet to qualy to the race itself. What they both have in common is they drove/drive for a team that is totally dominant securing win after win. I lost interest after 2 sesons of ferrari wins and thesame for Lewis with mercedes. No competition for years. I do think this year is pretty different. Shame Ferrari is not up there as well.
  11. Russel will bring internal competition to Lewis, something Bottas was never capable of.
  12. Ok cards on the table then. US Grands Prix result! 1 Ham - 2 Ver - 3 Nor.
  13. From an engineering point of view the development over the years is just incredible. Safety was pretty non existent in the pre carbon days and the cars were literally driving petrolbombs. Even during the Senna days the driver looked so incredibly vulnerable with head and shoulders fully exposed. I do hope next years aerodynamics make it easier in close racing and overtaking but so far this year has been pretty spectacular and now only a couple of races to go! Lewis or Max? Max or Lewis?
  14. 45 miles of petrol in the tank, so thatś about 5 litres? Now THAT is leaving a bad taste in my mouth. I know it seems to be the standard in the industry nowadays but it just shouldnt. It gives the wrong signal namely that the customer is not the most important here but profits are. Saving some quid and in the process damaging your image beyond repair. Dealers beware, what is your added value, why do people need you or want to buy from you? Next time a web based company delivers the car where and when you want in the way you want and at a lower price. like... going out for dinner getting the daily menu and 1/5 glass of wine. Going on an all inclusive holiday and finding out the ships diesel is not included. Booking a nice hotelroom and you have to pay extra for hot water, Taking the train and then pay extra to exit the station. Anyway you get the picture, a bit Ryan air. Stunning car and i am sure you will enjoy it for years to come!
  15. SORRY!! great looking ES!
  16. What is your next car James?
  17. It's certainly one of the best seasons in a long long time!
  18. What a beauty! i have never seen this color and the interior makes a great combo. Make sure there is a full history on the car. Stunning.
  19. Lowest prices in The Netherlands currently in euro/ltr E95 1,96 E98 2.10 Diesel 1.60 Note this is unmanned village pumps so not on the highway. In case anyone wonders 63% is TAX.
  20. Sorry but when i hear the word mindfullness i am gone.
  21. Help me think, an insurer hands you an umbrella in case it starts raining so you stay dry only to take it away when it starts raining? Dont know in the UK but overhere you can change insurer overnight and the cost differs immensely
  22. Stability at high speed is not only about aerodynamics. Chassis, springs, wheels, weight distribution etc all play a role. What i can say from experience is that my IS250 starts to feel vague and light in the front from 170km upwards ( germany autobahn) and is certainly not stable at high speeds. The IS300h is more planted at the front but easily upset with ripples in the surface of the road which make it jump/bounce, the shocks dont handle it very well, wo also here the car does not feel designed for high speed motoring. Take any Bmw/merc/audi and you know they are designed to cruise at 200kph for hours on end. Does it matter? no, for me not one jota. The above adventures are behind me and the autobahn is not what it used to be. Speedlimits, roadworks or trafficjams ( STAU) make topspeedruns nonsense really. Today i just cruise along with the other traffic and dont even know what my top speed is apart from beeing irrelevant.
  23. The drivers are not the best are they? seem to have difficulties taking a corner!
