I guess you have to ask how many of them are independent in what they make. The German Big Three are spending millions in marketing and they do influence articles by " supporting" reviews sometimes lending Expensive models like the BMW 850M for months or inviting car journos to a new model launch on a sunny location, wine and dine, nice hotels all fully paid plus detailed press packs and gifts. Then a 4 hrs drive with the new car and an article will be typed up. Difficult to write a negative report on that car then.. There are some independent automotive journalists out there like savagegeese, but most of them just don't have the time to evaluate a car thoroughly. 7 minute clip or 1500 words and need it by Wednesday. So here you have the " Terrible whine of the gearbox ( look into camera with droopy face)", or the " dull and fwd handling ( take corner too fast noise from tires look into camera droopy face) type of thing. You get to know a car owning it for weeks and in daily traffic the car performs well in my opinion. I drove one for a day and it just glides through traffic in silence. I did not buy it as i don't like the styling, the proportions, it did not work for me. Just go on your own opinion and who does give a #### what a you tuber or self declared car journalist thinks!

Funny how things go. Overhere biking has turned into a status symbol, like cars were in the past. Highly educated city folk dont want cars as too unpractical too expensive and bad for the environment. Instead they buy 4/5/6000 euro costing designer bikes. In the countryside bikes have always been transport nothing else. Groups of schoolchildren biking 15/20 km one way as school is in the next village is still common. Anyway, another short vid with some statistics of biking in The Netherlands. ( I honestly did not know it was that big but then again id do not even own a bicycle..) -

Whatever happened to Esperanto?? -
I honestly dont understand why that road is still open. Dont know the local details but the majority of car owners have no clue if they can pass safely or not. That road should be closed permanently. And the locals cheering if another one bites the dust raises some questions as well. All a bit embarrasing.

A moan about the limited offer of Lexus in Europe. Compared to the states only a couple of models and no choice in engines. I am convinced there are lots of Lexus customers that want to stay with the brand but simply cannot find what they need and subsequently leave Lexus for another make. A shame really.. -

he is the type that told your secret to the headmaster back in school. Seems to become some sort of cult hero in some circles though -

For me it would be a freaking nightmare just the idea to have an accident with a cyclist. I dont care what happens to my car but causing harm to another human beeing is reason enough to always give way even if i am legally not obliged. 2000 kg of steel and 80 kg of tissue and water is not a good combination. And middle age overweight men in Lycra is also not a good combination! -

Chip Shortages. According to one of the largest producers ASML it will take 2 to 3 years before the situation will be resolved. A moan for people waiting on a new car like me but maybe good news for the ones that will keep driving theirs as the value definately will go up. -
Exactly that is what polestar, lynk & co and volvo are doing its called subscription!

Something drawing my attention. 1. After the first 3 yr cycle they will take the cars back to the factory. Where are the dealers in this story? will it be an internet only operation without dealers? 2. After the third cycle ( 9 - 10 yrs) they will recycle the car at the factory and re-use parts where possible. So after 10yrs they take the car out of the market? 10 years is nothing just go for a drive and you will see plenty of cars 15/20/25 yrs old.

I think it makes sense from Toyotas point of view. There will be a market for this scheme. Please realise the cheapest cars are disappearing from the market due to CO2 regulations. The Toyota Aygo/Citroen C1/Peugeot whatever that literally sold in the hundreds of thousands are gone and will not be replaced. Transport for the masses so with what could we possibly replace it with? Those customers are prepared to pay 5/8k for a reliable car with minimum costs but will never buy a 10 yr old car without warranty as a possible breakdown will destroy their savings. Enter the Toyota scheme. A refurbished 9 yr old toyota with 3 yrs warranty for 5k !

Talking about cat theft on a Prius.. This happened last week in a town in the Netherlands. Thief was operating alone jacked the Prius up crawled under the car and started cutting off the cat. Apparently due to the movement the car fell off the jack falling on the thief and killing him. Next morning the owner of the Prius walked to his car and noticed two legs from under his car. He first thought some tramp was sleeping there so kicked his legs only to find out it was a corpse. Anyway, pic is from when the police arrived.

dont know anything about drones , how many flying hours do they make and how does this relate to running hours of a car engine, per month/year? also cars go up and down the gears with revs matching drones are ralatively flat? Does a drone engine have a much easier life? -
Well James that took me by surprise never heard of the guy but my dear lord what a voice. I forwarded it to my kids and it seems we have a new family favorite!

So, what will be the way forward? In one corner we have the 1970 s designed 8 cylinder drinking petrol like a local whino, in the other the ultra modern diesel 4 cylinder twinturbo that is hopeful but not allowed to enter the party, in the third corner the latest BEV heavily subsidized and the darling of the masses. What is in the fourth corner, how can we reduce pollution and still keep moving??

Hmmmmm, Rotary engines engineered by Felix ****el ( Dr. F ****el) were interesting but did not find their way to mass production due to reliability issues. NSU RO 80. A Brilliant car way ahead of its time. Just look at it. The brandnew Mercedes EQS seems to be the child but with a different drivetrain as the rotary engine in the RO80 was a ****ing desaster. So much the overwhelming majority of cars had to be bought back as the engines suffered catastrophic ****ing failures. Mazda took it up in the RX7 and in Japan in a salooncar the name i forgot but also here reliability was dreadful with engines not lasting over 150k km. I am not saying Dr ****el was a ****er but his brainchild is not really working on petrol. Brave hero that tries to convert it Hydro! -

I find all those screens windowdressing, juwelry, lipstick and a new dress. First of all my experience at least is you dont use all the functionalities. Example 1 memory or electric seats with lumbar support. 10 electric motors in 1 seat bringing weight cost and complexity. I drive my car alone nobody else so set all first time and never touch it again. 2. Vehicle settings in the menu/submenu/subsubmenu. I do this in the first week and the never touch it again.. Just never. Tech overkill, a bit like a tv with 350 channels or a coffee machine with 15 options, just give me black coffee! Why cant the engineers develop their best chassis set up and hand it to me? Why confuse me with options options and more options?
