So, what is the saving per tank of 50 litres? 2 pounds? And that is a full tank, most people will be topping up as they are convinced it is needed so maybe 15 or 20 litres. what is the saving? below 1 pound????

Spot on Malc. The EV world is turning into a golden opportunity for the petrol station brigade. Installing chargers is easy, the location is already there. When the wiring is done you can easily expand by placing new chargers. They dont need staff all is fully automatic 24/24. They are way cheaper than petrol pumps, pollution/special pavement/cleaning/maintenance etc. The time it takes to charge people will spend money in the shop getting a bite and a coffee. BP expects to make more money from chargers than from the petrol/diesel per charge already next year so guess where the investment is going. Over here Shell is installing 350kwh chargers in every station they have including innercity ones. Times they are changing.

Parking sensors that are too slow. In reverse drive in and they cant follow your pace so you have to slow down waiting for the beep beep to keep up. Also the rear view camera. In both IS s i had they were truly excellent. Talking about the slight fish eye effect looking round the corner. They just worked. You only notice when they dont work as fine like in my latter BM or Volvos. Camera only looking straight ahead leaving blind spots. You still need to look over your shoulder and use your mirrors. -

Oh yes it is! Truly dreadful, my garden lounge set just left the garden and the garbage can has disappeared! Wife is looking for the dog and i just moved my car just in case the old tree does not make it. Nothing more we can do now only to close the curtains, take a G&T and hope for the best. -

I would politely like to complain about a violent destructive storm of death called "eunice" . sounds like wrong casting to me. Beware Eunice is coming! or, what happened everything is destroyed! well, Eunice was here.. Who has a better name? -
This seems to be a thing with BEVś . I took the Audi Q4 Etron for a spin and left just as confused as you. Truly terrible interior. Cheap nasty plastics, simple design and more VW Polo than Audi. Top that with average performance and range and bland styling and i just dont see how they can sell this for the price they ask? It seems the cars are designed towards a price point and as Ev s are expensive to build the cost cutting is done inside. At least the Polestar is attractively styled and i see them a lot seems to be a success?

Interesting thread and , as an outsider as living in Holland, it seems to me that the UK is now where Holland has been already. I guess the change in law is to protect the soft target, the biker. All that is fine but the real issue is the infrastructure. Often when visiting the UK and driving on a a B-road i see cyclists. My absolute first reaction is always = Whooot, what is this guy doing on this road! Suicide!! = Only later realizing there is simply no alternative. No bicycle lane. Same in villages, small cities all is criss cross intermingling with lorries buses cars etc. Asking for trouble. It will be interesting to experience this for yourself, get on a bike and paddle around for an hour or two surrounded by traffic. It is a frightening experience to say the least. The drawing above albe-it old tells it all. Separate the bikers from motorized traffic. Every day i drive 10 miles to my office and never do i meet a cyclist, simply as they are not allowed to drive on my road as there are cycle paths everywhere. Last thing, hit a bike with your car in the Netherlands and you are getting the blame. Always. Even if the biker did hit you, even if the biker crossed a red light and you slam into him. One of the reasons i never take my car in Amsterdam...

Yep, what most of us were expecting is now starting to happen. Articles are appearing in our press about organized theft of petrol. Like 20 cars in one street at night. Arrive at your car in the morning fuel cap open tank empty! One day the petrol in the car could be worth more than the car!

Dimi, have you actually driven both the NX and RX? I had both cars as loaner when mine was in for service and although i did like both of them i found the RX to be in a league of its own. A totally different car and steps above the NX. The engine transforms it, more torque, power and above all that humming singing six cylinder. No need to floor the throttle when entering the highway or overtaking just waft along on a mountain of torque. I found the materials of the RX cabin also better, higher quality better finish, it is more comfortable, longer wheelbase. For me the only downside on the RX could be the size, it really is a big car but i guess that will get used to quickly?

This car to me is a prime example of the totally backward american way of thinking when it comes to cars. Here we are 2022 and they come up with a van that averages 8.9mpg !! Maybe this was acceptable in 1955 but even if you are totally against any form of battery propulsion this is a total engineering disgrace and i honestly cannot invent one single argument to defend this. In a nutshell this philosophy explains why there is not one ( 1 ) single car in the current line up of Ford/GM/Chrysler that is even remotely competitive in the European market. Bizarre agressive styling, low tech engines with horrific fuel consumption, cheap plastic interiors, below average fit and finish and average crash protection. In case of trucks this is even worse as these are not categorized as cars so no need to have thesame standards. Bolt on chassis, springleaves no roll over protection and so on. Crap vehicles produced for customers that are easily satisfied. The big 3 have been shrinking for the last 10 years and if they dont reinvent themselves they are toast.

Only in America. Firstly they seem to have different aesthetics. This thing could be the new delivery vehicle for the USPS. 165.000 of them to be built by Oshkosh a military vehicle company. Secondly they don't seem to care one bit about fuel consumption, environment. The above is designed with a petrol-engine that averages 8.6mpg. (!!)

Times have certainly changed.. I was doing economy back in the eighties and this was in the middle of all sorts of protests in The Netherlands. NO to cruise missiles, No to nuclear bombs, YES to abortion, NO to capitalism, we were against a lot of things as you should beeing a student but there was definately freedom of speech and wonderful debate nights with people with different opinions (!) Beer was cheap and the night long and we all were friends, well sort of. -

Exactly that is what i mean. We live in a polarised times where you are with or against a topic. Agression and lack of respect seem to go hand in hand. Especially when educating the youngsters a free flow of information that needs to be debated from all angles is needed with students not beeing intimidated to express their opinion. I sometimes feel this " free wheeling " mental exercise is very very limited nowadays. -

The woke brigade has entered the unis and is cancelling topic after topic. Rewriting history without even noticing it. Sorry cant debate gender, skincolor, religion, islam, 2nd ww, holocaust, everything is racism and above all everybody seems to have thesame opinion. Where is the debate? Where are the different angles, what are the various thinking processes, what did lead up to this event what is the history behind it? How can one form opinions, shape your character, think think think when most topics are off limit? -
Relax guys, its only about cars and as we all know there are more important things in the world... Shame they did not bring the ES 350 six cylinder here... It would not sell but seems a great car!
