  1. I think the people that own one just like the car it does what they expect and is not too expensive. A bit like a washing machine really.
  2. i thought you could always make the choice yourself, cheaper from china or more expensive from for instance germany?
  3. Friend of mine has one too, he loves it his wife hates it. Main issue is the limited range and slow charging. And yes he is a bit of a cheapy only charges when his solar panels give enough power which sometimes leaves the car sitting outside with a range of 15km. Thats the moment his wife explodes as she has to take the 20+ year old Yaris ( that never ever in all those years set a foot wrong).
  4. I am afraid you could be correct Phil
  5. i said it before, the competition for Lexus will not come from Germany but China. This is just one of the examples of a Chinese manufacturer that will appeal to western tastes. They seem to know how to design and build cars now, safety top notch 5 stars, attractive prices and full of kit. Buildquality and fit and finish? just look where they were 5 years ago and then think 5 years ahead..
  6. and the 2CV and the renault 4. Finally a company that goes a different route. Less is more. 250 kg (!!!) and only 9999 Euro. I love this thing
  7. How about this for a quirky minimalist French oddball? https://kgauto.fr/ https://www.designboom.com/technology/tiny-lightweight-practical-kilow-electric-off-roader-la-bagnole-10-24-2022/
  8. What a refreshing concept! Kudos to citroen light, different and without touchscreen!
  9. i had a 406 as well my first companycar. great chassis but the worst gearbox ever made and like you say comfort had left the building
  10. Oh how things have changed! Just take a jaguar XJ from 2 decades ago or just sit ( without driving ) in a peugeot 504/604 with cloth seats. Back in the days comfort was a sales argument. Cars had loong suspension travel ( speedbumps how do you mean), and seats were truly sofa like. Tires? 60 or 65 at 13 or 14 inch. And then things changed. All had to be sports, sporty, nurburgring tested and so on. In came short stiff springs sport seats, 35 tyres all to keep weight transfer under control when negotiating a corner at 100mph. The nurburgring is the worst thing that ever happened to car industry .My old 2cv s were a joy to drive, my golf mark 1 had suspension travel to the moon and back, my 504 was just incredible as was my citroen bx. I am ONLY talking about comfort of course. Anyway, which car company, which model is now marketing their brand or car as comfortable? It would not sell, even a 2500 kg SUV needs to be "sport" to do the school run. Which leads to the next question; Which new car is truly comfortable? ( LS 400 not allowed!)
  11. talking about speed cameras.... https://www.thedrive.com/news/speed-cameras-stolen-from-sweden-may-be-ending-up-in-russian-drones-report
  12. Its a beauty, absolutely stunning. If i had the funds i would order one immediately, if possible, as i expect them to sell out in record time.
  13. Its free John, setting up an account is one minute work
  14. For me the basis for every form of business is Trust. If that is not there one might as well stop immediately. Car dealers in general have a bad reputation because of this. My experience with Lexus has always been positive, As well as Saab in the past. The mechanic working on my car always came out to explain what was done and for instance had the worn windscreen wipers in hand when he had to replace them. Trust. I never had a case where the car drove a distance longer than 5/6 km for a testdrive let alone offset steering etc. From an official Lexus dealer you should expect a high level of decency correctness and trust, always putting the customer first. In this case clearly things did go wrong very badly. If it was me and they were clearly not taking me serious by giving nonsensical explanations about the satnav entry i would ask my lawyer to draw up an official letter with the request for a satisfactorily solution within 14 days. This to send to the Dealer M/D, salesdirector and especially the entire board of Lexus UK. All names and titles can easily be found on Linkedin.
  15. That was the case until beginning this year. Since the Russian invasion imports have declined rapidly in preparation for a European import ban as from jan. of course russian diesel can be sold to for instance china or india that in turn ships it to the uk but the direct free flow of product is gone. Also Russian production has fallen and keeps falling as major oil companies have ceased operations.
  16. diesel is rising faster in price than petrol due to increase in demand and decrease in supply. Industry is changing over from gas powered generators to diesel and diesel from russia has dried up creating an inbalanced market.
  17. Please do Toffee and let us know how you get on wont you.
  18. The current fuel panic situation in the UK is nothing to complain about really. Whining about prices does mean its available isnt it. France has real fuel panic!! https://news.sky.com/story/third-of-petrol-stations-out-of-fuel-in-france-as-strikes-continue-12717708 On the other topic of experts dont even think of trying it will not work. Some people think they posess the only truth and will never ever see the other side, its fanatically religious nothing more. Just let them be happy in their own bubble.
  19. Come to think of it, what was the lightest car you guys drove? Mine for sure one of the three 2CV's I owned. 550kg! But it had no crumple zone, it was a crumple zone.
  20. The simplest way of solving Fuel Panic is to start driving a lighter car, like we used to do some decades ago. Below is a link of an interesting article about the effect of ever heavier cars, SUV's and the regulations in the automotive climate. It is from 2020 but still very on the ball. https://thecorrespondent.com/310/your-car-has-a-weight-problem-and-we-need-to-regulate-it
  21. that's a good one, come on Phil what is the price of 1 litre on your Greek Island? ( i do not mean Raki ..)
  22. Calm down private Frazer!
  23. So far it worked!
