  1. less than in Norway. Dont think they drive EV s there then hey..
  2. Eric if you cannot debate with facts and continue to write up nonsense it makes no sense to continue. I am out.
  3. Hmmm, thought i was only reacting to your incorrect statement of range? Who said aything about value for money?
  4. apart from the 620,000 people that drive one in the UK at the moment that is.
  5. You are making that point by uploading a clip of a subaru driving in the snow and telling how fantastic that car behaves? Where is the correlation to Electric vehicles?
  6. Range is quoted at 225 miles wltp. Thats about what i drive in a week so charging once a week will do the job just fine.
  7. every 4x4 on snowtyres will do thesame nothing to do with subaru
  8. I found my IS250 wonderful to drive in snow. Snowmode on and the electric nannys take care of you. Floor the throttle wherever you can the car just wont listen. You hear beep beep and before the slide starts everything is under control again. By the way driving in snow tells you a lot about car handling in general. When i was young i had an Alfa GTV rear wheel drive and this was before ABS and so on. Fully analogue. Slipping and sliding in the snow on an empty carpark those were the days!! I sometimes i see supercar accidents on youtube all with thesame driver error. Accelerate, floor the throttle, wheels start to spin and keep spinning even when you lift the throttle sending you off the track. Just like driving on snow. When you get used to driving in snowy conditions you can literally steer the car by throttle and provoke under and oversteer. Its driving on Ice thats the problem.
  9. Just a short story of something I witnessed some years ago in Stockholm in winter everything white snowing like crazy at 8 in the morning waiting on my taxi. The roads were just covered in a thick layer of snow and apparently the school run was on. Mothers happily driving their kids to school in all sorts of cars without any problem. I guess its what you are used to isn't it?
  10. Snowtyres will give you grip on snow but when there is ice on the road thats it. not sure if the Es has a snowmode but if yes it would not make a lot of difference especially on an iced hill.
  11. Do you have wintertyres?
  12. I guess its what you use it for. It is a city car and pretty good at that. small, nimble and easy to park. Brother in law has one drove it myself and thought it was just fine for driving around the village doing shopping using it as a second car. Economical to run and maintain. Brings you from A to B and they sure keep their value!
  13. So far i have not seen much brilliance, no actions that you will remember in 20 yrs time. All a bit middle of the road so far, who is the big favorite? which player really stands out? Most did not deliver
  14. So lets have the next tournament in Saudi Arabia or maybe North Corea? Guaranteed no issues as you will simply disappear or get your hands chopped off. To me a big tournament like this has to be for the people by the people, one big festive atmosphere. This worldcup should have been held in the UK. The entire Qatar/FIFA/Infantino is a total disgrace for football. Money rules. Next European Championship is in summer of 2024. In Germany. Let the party begin!
  15. One word one name…. Mbappe
  16. this wc is full of surprises
  17. Or go outside, open the car fire it up switch all heating on get out close car into house have a coffee and breakfast go outside open car and just drive off?
  18. If possible park your car nose first as close as possible to your house. The heat of the house will prevent your front screen from freezing.
  19. Bribing the Fifa?
  20. Like the games and truly enjoyed watching Portugal yesterday ( without R!) but i do think the whole tournament is a disgrace. Apparently the total cost of organizing this including the build of stadiums is more than all previous tournaments together at over 200 billion usd. On top of that the pollution is to be compared with that of WW2. Airconditioners in stadiums even running when no game on. Lets have a worldcup in a tiny islamofascist desert country that has no stadiums nor footballcompetition and as its too hot in summer lets do it in winter. Yes! good idea why not! Just a thought. ( and brazil will win )
  21. Interesting thread indeed. Both electric and hydro technology is fascinating and it seems very much in development. We more or less know our petrolengines. Atkinson cycle, CVT, Turbochargers, intelligent gearboxes, downsizing et all. But especially hydro i dont know enough about. It sounds to good to be true? What are the downsides of hydro? Is it potentially explosive, does it need to be compressed in big hydrotanks in the vehicle? What about efficiency when igniting. Will an engine develop thesame amount of hp on petrol or hydro or is this 50% less and if so what about range? Anyone?
  22. So, who is the favorite then? Brazil?
  23. Missed opportunity. They should have built a hotel, 2 restaurants , 4 pubs and a rollercoaster next to it. This would have brought the money in big time. Everybody loves to see Scheissewagons in trouble.
  24. Strange all this. Dealers are earning making their profit on maintenance and repairs not on new sales. The entire toyota/lexus 10yr warranty is based on annual visits to the garage and the prescribed maintenance. The older the car, the more goes wrong so show me the money?
