  1. https://theoceancleanup.com/ Support these guys is a good start
  2. Oh how things have changed. 40 years ago Bentley/RR were facing mainstream models like the ford cortina, citroen 2cv, you get the picture.( had them both!) mainstream now is BMW/Audi etc. Luxury has come downward as that is what people want. For themselves and the neighbors. It also depends on the market, in some markets like the States or Asia Lexus is mainstream and sells like hotcakes. Over here it is very much niche but is this because of lack of sales or strategic strategies one might wonder.. ( You serious by placing Bentley/RR and Lexus on thesame level?)
  3. i dont think Tesla is competing with Toyota at all. Different demographic and T has no EV Tesla created their own market.
  4. Dont know why but i had to think of the ghost rider screaming on the top of his voice ' i see hundreds of ghost riders whats wrong with these people!!'
  5. As it is designed to roll around in urban environments i only have one question. WHY is this not electric? Why again is the 300H drivetrain installed? Surely if passenger comfort is what they are after electric is the way to go? BTW i do find the exterior styling horrible but that could be me.
  6. It will be a success provided it is expensive enough. Its about the interior and the price. Needs to be easily recognizable which it is with that grille and has to be seen as a symbol of success ( in certain circles) I honestly would not be surprised it it will work..
  7. This is an open forum John. Gang is fully entitled to comment on your messages. No need to react like you do?
  8. I like it. Go to discoverlexus.com/models/lm/ and you will see the interior. This car is not for driving but for beeing chauffeured around in busy cities. And regarding styling, is the RZ attractive? or the RX? Or the BMW XM for that matter?
  9. Dongfeng, BYD, Zeekr, Nio, Xpeng, Vinfast, Aiways, Polestar, Leapmotor, Skywel and i could have forgotten another dozen.
  10. Very popular in Asia. Its big city transport. Think all those Chinese cities with over 15 million people. Singapore, Hongkong. If you made it there you dont drive yourself as status and 24 hr trafficjam. Rich families have one of them with a chauffeur 24/24. But yes its an aquired taste but hey if you are inside it could be pretty good travelling at 7mph average?
  11. Your car has just been announced Malc, but it is called Toyota Crown. https://www.carexpert.com.au/car-news/toyota-crown-range-to-offer-hybrids-hydrogen-fuel-cell-evs
  12. Very likely. Just look at The Netherlands, sales are truly abysmal. 412 cars sold last year divided over 11 dealers. You dont need to be a rocket scientist to see it does not add up and is heavily loss making. So close the shops and simply add the very very limited Lexus range into Toyota dealers. Sack staff and reduce service. No more investment into Lexus until maybe one day the range is attractive again. Lexus is a dead horse in Europe and is beeing overtaken left, right and centre by mainly totally new brands. It are these brands that are taken up by the large automotive importers and that is where the money and investment is going. 412 cars in 12 months is just not sustainable. To put things in perspective, Porsche sold 2251 cars in thesame time and BMW is selling 400 cars Per Week... Lexus seems to have missed the boat completely and has turned into a commercial disaster.
  13. Now now Toffee, don't create panic here.. It may be more contagious but there has been no reported increase in severity in cases caused by arcturus or XBB 1.16. So, much ado about nothing?
  14. Fully agree Renato. On top of that the stand alone Lexus dealerships are disappearing and they are now operating from a corner in a Toyota dealership. The sales do not justify separate dealerships i guess. The Lexus premises where i live is now occupied by VINFAST. Next to it was a peugeot dealer which is now BYD and next to that the Jaguar dealer moved out and is now XPENG. Proof of an automotive landscape changing rapidly and Lexus could be wiped off the European map by the new Chinese competition launching new brands and models at an ever increasing pace.
  15. Good news story this one! Maybe recovered just in time. An M8 Competition and a GSF will not be stolen for the parts as the market is very small for that. More likely stolen on order, driven into a container and shipped within 48 hours mainly to Africa.
  16. So, not a bad charging infrastructure in the Canaries but just Nothing? Shows that different parts of the world embrace electric vehicles with different speeds. Overhere all news is about the latest newest BEV, 2025/2030/2035 and so on. In thesame time i just read an article that in 2035 some 50% of all new cars sold will still be ICE. I am confused?
  17. Or you charge at home with free power from your solarpanels. Sun and blue skies all year round and no high mileage on an island?
  18. You can have it tested would always do this before buying a used bev. Interesting in this is that we do not really know about longevity aspects of the batteries apart from statements of the manufacturer that as we know can be a lot of marketing. There is just no history we can fall back on so it is a wait and see situation about degradation and so on. There is a model S with 604k km and the add states battery degradation 25% and real km range 300km. Could be true i don't know. What i do know is these cars are highly sough after due to the free charging for life so totally free motoring. Explains the asking price i guess at 22.000 Euro.
  19. I am thinking of possibly getting a UX for my wife but the Toyota CHR seems pretty decent too. What are the things you dont like about the UX apart from the lack of room in the back? Anyone experience with a CHR?
  20. Short scan on www.autoscout24.nl shows a lot of high mileage Teslas for sale. If you search European wide you will see model S es with up to 600.000km. These are 10 year old cars with lifetime free charging.
  21. something like this?
  22. Total selling all their fuel stations in Holland and Germany in preparation to 2030. Times, they are changing.. https://totalenergies.com/media/news/press-releases/service-stations-europe-totalenergies-partners-alimentation-couche-tard
  23. https://www.lexus.eu/discover-lexus/concept-cars/lf-fc Hey Malc, your LS H(ydro) could be there after all!
