I didn't know that Steve...I dodged a bullet then.
I bought a low quality front hub before (Needed it fast) 4 whole weeks before there was movement in it.
-
First I bought this one....
they came back to me and said I had ordered the wrong one... which I had not ... lie number 1
Then they told me lucky me they had in stock another brand that they could do at the same price....Lie number 2
I googled the company... and I found the item they said they would do at the same price as the 1st one....
https://a2zmotorspares.com/spare-part/wheel-bearing-kit-optimal-982552
so I cancelled the order and found this one with a little more searching ..
Part has arrived and looks to be good quality.
I was taking the whole hub out.... I have had them out before with a hub puller but this was so tight that it came apart oh well.... tomorrow is hub removal day... well hub carrier thingy.
I live in a ****y new build estate loads lots of people looking down their noses at my car with the wheel off it... like "oh you peasant you have to fix your own car"
-
I bought a blueprint one... its the rear.. one eBay seller tried his level best to rip me off and sell me a lower quality one for the same price (cutting my own throat here guv)

I had only once been in the back of an sc430 drunken night and no cabs.
If I remember correctly I was rolled in a ball moooshed against the seats and the roof and sides.
However now the kids have moved out..... an Sc430 is starting to sound amazing as they also drive nice and smooth so I am told.
might be nice to tell the kids ... "sorry no room for you, dads Taxi service is no longer running"
-
I am not sure.... on the sc430 buddy... worth searching for it though.....
Not a lot on this page but its a nice start

Good morning guys
Someone on a LS430 facebook page put this file up, I think it might be helpful at some point 🙂
-
That looks like a nice car..... if I was a Nissan guy 🙂
I rented a Ford F150 which was I have to say a very nice car/pickup
I thought it was going to be crappy to drive but it was amazing and if the roads were bigger over here I think I would

Sounds like a good band aid 🙂
the more I search for the problem the more I think its a very common fault with no answer
-
Hi guys
I hope someone might be able to share some light on this problem with this 2002 gs300 (I have done some searching to no avail)
My Battery keeps draining down after being sat for a few weeks, the alarm isn't going off (as in on if you know what I mean) I have changed the Battery for a shiny new one.
Thanks for reading

I must admit I do like those wheels Phil, a funny thing I just bought a set of wheels, 17's would you believe so I could take mine off to refurbish them.... however I can feel the extra squidginess of the 17's compared to my face lift 18's.
I am really hard pushed to put my 18's back on at all.
You are right on the south coast aren't you?
-
I'm not a mechanic just someone who has worked on his own car from time to time and having never done a cam belt in any car before I did mine over the course of a day not even having the right tools lol.
I found a video on youtube showing how I just followed it.
-
OH my i see that car with my waking eyes.....
Yeah I think he sold that car, stunning on the outside,,,,, ugly as sin on the inside I dont know why I love it but I do.
-
I saw the one of the wheel but not on the car... maybe I missed a post.
silly question time
Do you think 17's will fit on a car with 18's on?
-
Well TBH I am not really into that VIP styling, also never understood what the bit of old knotted rope was hanging from the rear view was about.
-
So.... Phil can we get a pic with your wheel on?
Buy or not to buy ?

Hi Stevie
As I have not seen the car it is hard to make a decision, however the fact that the VSC and Engine light are on is a big concern which I do believe is an MOT failure as of new rules.
Have they run a diagnostics on the car to check what the light is on for it could be something small like a coil pack (cheap and easy) to some hidden gremlin which you could be chasing around for a while.
It might be an idea to check the MOT history https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-history
Toyota/ Lexus like all cars could fail and cause you a financial outlay however unlike lets say for example a ford fusion you wont get hit with an as large bill for the air shocks, as a guide they can be about a grand a corner if you are going through a dealer I do believe cheaper if you use an Indy or do the work yourself (you could always fit coil overs).
In regards to price £2900 for 104000 miles is good, maybe take it for a test drive and do all the normal checks
Others on this forum are far more knowledgeable than I and I hope they chip in 🙂
Saying that these can be great cars and I would hard pressed given the choice of driving anything else. (Disclaimer I bought a Toyota celsior which is on coils having had my shocks go).
