Hi guy's I'm wondering if anyone has had this happen. I was cleaning the carpets...thanks to the last owner using it to ferry logs and garden equipment around. I moved the driver's seat forward and back and a plastic runner has slid out and won't slide back. I don't want to break it forcing it back. Any ideas?

Creaking from hell
skyway replied to skyway's topic in LS 400 / Lexus LS 430 / Lexus LS 460 / Lexus 600h / Lexus 500h Club
Hi Max I am not sure it is, mine got better the more weight I had in I kept the tank full for that reason. I'm hoping with yours it will be the anti-roll bar bushes. Its easy to check now i know how... just jack it up a bit wheel not off the ground and grab ya coil and wiggle it a little bit see if it creaks. Mine were 20 quid from ebay. Good luck mate let us know how it goes -
Good afternoon guys, Today I had had enough of the noise coming from my ls430's rear end every, speed bump, dip in the road, and corners oh god I started to hear it in my sleep. Well after 6 months of looking on the forum's and poking at the car, (changed the rear anti-roll bar bushes, silicone greased everything else up) I finally made up my mind to fix it or kill it. After jacking the car up (hard enough on the ls with the jacking point crushed in at some point) I pulled my wheel off and pulled out my coil-over strut (like the way I said that? made it sound easy didn't I one hour and a hammer) I found the spring had come out of alignment and the rubber ring thingy had torn so allowing the end of the coil to rub against the head of a bolt. Ok so at this point I was wondering how I was going to get it back on as I could not get my link arms off without cutting them. I woke a friend up who went heroically went to the shops in south London and jumped on the train to bring me a set of spring compressors. I then gave the coil a squeeze wiggled it around and refitted it all (again making it sound easy and missing out the bits which sounded like *#/*~#). So the moral of the story is.... a squeek does not always come from the anti- roll bar bushes, I hope no one else has to do this. Have a great days guys.

count me in my aircon is a leaking -
Hi I just came back from a trip to france (no aircon 37 deg 45 in the car or bloody sauna as we now like to shout at it ) and while I was there my car did have some hesitation on starting after it had been driven, although It was fine at 1st start up in the morning. I have changed the coolant temp sensor, so I think now all that is left is for me to hit is with a hammer.

I may have sorted it out well kinda... https://www.amazon.com/DashMat-SuedeMat-Dashboard-Cover-Faux-Suede/dp/B000F36MS6/ref=sr_1_14?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1470943532&sr=1-14&keywords=DashMat+SuedeMat+Dashboard+Cover+lexus although I am guessing it's for a left hand drive so.. maybe if i cant find it for right hand drive I may have to get the sewing machine out and make one. -
Wow Steve I am impressed by you bravery working over gravel, the amount of times I drop things and have trouble finding them is shocking.

Good evening guys if anyone's still awake if not good morning :) I am not sure if anyone has bought this up before I couldn't find it (didn't look honest Gov). It's the windscreen glare hitting the dash and reflecting back onto the windscreen which almost on some bright days has got me looking about for a white stick deployment button with the LS430's vast amount of switches and buttons. I was thinking of putting some mat black cloth down but I really don't want it to look like some fake hippies VW painted on rust surfers camper van style affair (No offence meant to any fake hippies out there), however seeing out of the front windscreen is also a nice thing so if anyone has a fix for this I would love to hear about it:). Many thanks guys

I'm in London at the mo but moving north in a month. I have never been in one with air shocks I really hope they are not too much better or I might have to switch. I do have a awful squeaking coming from the rear shocks somewhere which I cant find really hoping its not the top mount as I believe they are a bugger to get to. The car was driven and abused in Portugal so I thought the dry dusty roads could have something to do with it, I have bought a pair of anti roll bar bushes (I think they are called) http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/252243755028?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT I am gonna change them as soon as I can When I get a new jack, GOD it ain't the easiest car to jack up (someones crushed the sill before me and I did one TBH ) the noise is getting under my skin not that anyone else really notices but I am sure you know what I mean. Where in Sussex are you Phil -

hi guys so this means we can put 400 wheels on the 430 and so maybe get a softer ride? -
Well done Gunnar

Right then guys...... I ordered the coolant temp sensor and fitted it (nice and easy by the way). Jobs a good en. Its starting a like a dream so thanks for the help. just the aircon to fix now and the new denso radiator to fit I'm trying hard to motivate myself to fit the rad again.... will be the 4th time...and the aircon needs a cut n shut of the rear pipe and a refill.... then I guess we got to hope that the compressors and stuff is working. Funny thing though cant seem to work out the gearbox oil level, after burning my hand many many times, running it though the gears then back to N hand brake on (yeah like that works) It seems to be splashed up the dip stick even if I clean it and re-dip again and again lol.
