Not sure if I’ve understood your post correctly, but if your question is what tyres you buy, my answer would be the ones that fit your wheels! On my GS450H with standard wheels the only option in your list that would fit is the 18 inch 245/40 R18. Unless you have wheels of different sizes with the correct offsets and bolt patterns for a GS coming out of your ears, just buy tyres to fit your existing wheels. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Depends on what shape they’re in, but personally I had good results with Autosol metal polish. Once removed they are much easier to clean and mine looked great after not much effort when I gave my wheels a thorough clean last summer. That said, the longer I own my GS450H (coming up on three years now) the more the fiddly wheels annoy me, they’re a real pain to keep clean with all the nooks and crannies. Good on you for sharing your thoughts Rameez. I did something similar with my own GS450H. Hope this link works. Two years with a GS450 https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink/topic?share_fid=80750&share_tid=120121&share_pid=1095548&url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Elexusownersclub%2Eco%2Euk%2F&share_type=t&link_source=app In terms of the streaming from a phone, I just use a FM Bluetooth thing which is plugged in under the armrest so I don’t see it. Not perfect but works well, plus has USB charging for my phone. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.ebay.co.uk%2Fulk%2Fitm%2F264407118770 Your MPG is very similar to mine. I struggle to get more than late 20s mpg unless I’m on a motorway run and my typical mpg at the moment is mid 20s. I have a relatively heavy foot as it’s usually just me in the car so there’s no point dilly dallying, plus who buys a 340 bhp, two tonne saloon to be economical? [emoji846] I respectfully disagree with you about the graphics on the display. They are fairly high res you’re right, and I find them neater and clearer than the fussy animations I’ve seen in the current Lexus cars I’ve driven. I’m coming up on three years with my car, and I still really enjoy driving it and don’t have any regrets as such. That said the longer I have it the less I rate the CVT gearbox and while the car is fast you have to really mash the throttle to extract the power, and the handling doesn’t encourage you to press on. It’s a lovely car, but not a drivers’ car in the same way a BMW 5 Series is known to be. Thanks again for sharing your views and please do keep us updated how you get on with the car. Interesting messages popped up on my dash this morning due to my commute. No doubt linked to an accumulation of snow on various sensors. I’m sure all will be back to normal once it melts, which is good as the beeping was starting to get annoying. Here’s to some rain! [emoji299]️ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No idea what was up with the TPMS. I was regularly getting a ‘CHECK SYSTEM’ message and the Lexus fix was replace TPMS sensors. I have the strong impression there’s not much mechanical fault finding going on in main dealer land, they just hook it up to their scanners and replace parts/modules until faults go away. I was glad the shock was covered by the warranty, but in my view they should be. Shocks aren’t a wear and tear item like brake discs.

A different generation of car but I have the warranty on my 2008 GS450H. I had a years Lexus approved used warranty and now I’m in the last few months of the two year purchased warranty. I’m that time I’ve had the following. New rear shock absorber New door switch Four new TPMS sensors New gearbox earth strap New water pump New driver’s mirror Two new washer jets New front passenger seatbelt New rear parking sensor New drain plug Would I buy the warranty? Definitely! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2005 to 2007 cars: no indicators in the wing mirrors. SE and SE-L models available. SE-L has everything, including ACC and sunroof. 2008 to 2009 cars: indicators in the wing mirrors. SE, Sport, and SE-L models available. SE is base spec (which is still pretty good by all accounts). Sport adds active body control and a (subtle) body kit. SE-L gives you a Mark Levinson stereo but sunroof and ACC are now optional, so not every SE-L will have them. 2010 to 2012 cars: indicators in the wing mirrors, horizontal slats on the grille and wheels of a different design. Same options as the earlier cars, but in all cases there’s an updated stereo/nav without a tape player and with Bluetooth audio streaming. I have a 2008 SE-L with all the options, including ACC, a sunroof and wood on the steering wheel. ACC is brilliant, well worth seeking out in my opinion. Good luck with your search. TPMS

Was your TPMS giving you issues that prompted you to do this? Every once in a while I get a ‘CHECK SYSTEM’ message for my TPMS, and over the past few years I’ve had every sensor replaced and I still infrequently get the message. It always clears itself after a few miles so not the end of the world. Was your TPMS faulty? Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk -
The part arrived having ordered on eBay on Friday. Very good service! I worked from home this afternoon so I could tackle the wing mirror. My first idea was to simply swap the glass over. That proved to be a non starter so I eventually replaced the entire wing mirror with the new (used) part, which involved taking the door card off and faffing about loosening trim pieces. All back together and fully functional now however and £140 is considerably better than the £500+ it would have been at a Lexus. My word my car is filthy... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Thanks Rich, really helpful. [emoji106] Once I have a bit of time in daylight I’ll get into the guts of my current mirror, remove the glass and see what’s going on, with a view of ensuring an easy replacement using my new one. Worst case scenario is I presumably have to take the door card off and replace the whole wing mirror, but hey, worse things happen at sea! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Things have moved on. When I spoke with Lexus last night they promised to call me back this morning with potentially a better price. However even though that phone call came in promptly at 8:30, they couldn't move on price. I also have a feeling that I'm going to need a new bracket behind the glass too, which is another £140 ish. With all this in mind I've just bought a complete wing mirror including the glass from a 2008 GS450 on eBay for £140, delivered. Next question: Does anyone have any fitting instructions for replacing a wing mirror?

The passenger mirror of my 2008 GS450H struck a sticking out wheelie bin as I dodged an oncoming car during a tight spot in a village on the way home from work. Smashed. Infuriated. The mirror housing looks fine, so I called Lexus and was quoted £330 for the glass. The glass!!! Has anyone replaced their glass for less than this? I was expecting north of £100 but £330 seems ridiculous. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Exactly as the title suggests... I was in slow moving traffic the other evening in the dark, and happened to notice that while all my other buttons and knobs (including steering wheel buttons) are illuminated, the four sunroof buttons on the roof console are not. My question is therefore is this normal, or do I have a problem?

I'm increasingly aware of a vibration that seems to come from the rear of the car, at speeds around 70+ mph. I think it's the rear end rather than the front as I can't feel anything through the steering wheel. My gut says it's one or both of the rear wheels out of balance. Back in August I had the wheels off the car and did a thorough clean of them, including removing old tar and glue from previous sticky weights. Do you think this would be enough to cause it? I was thinking of leaving it until April when it's due a service but that's six months away and it's annoying me. Any other thoughts before I book it in and leave myself and my wallet open for abuse?
