  1. True but cheaper non OEM's are available for the smaller size but not the larger ones, although if there are I cannot find them anywhere!
  2. I agree with everything @johnatg except it is only the 450h F-Sport and Premier models that have bigger brake discs. GS 300h and GS 450h Luxury front discs size is 334mm x 30mm and GS 450h F-Sport and Premier are 356mm x 30mm. https://media.lexus.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/sites/3/2021/06/1517227373180125MGSTechnicalSpecifications.pdf
  3. My first Lexus was also a 2006 GS 450h SE-L, in Nordic Blue (the one that was either described as purple or silver, although I did get plenty of compliments about the colour) with the grey interior (a wonderful combination in my personal opinion). Now owning a Mk4 GS it constantly puts a smile on my face regarding the performance and economy of both these models and I believe that this was a greatly under appreciated car due to all of the motoring press being fixated with whatever comes out of Germany. These early SE-L models were also fully loaded before loosing previously standard spec like ACC after the 2008 facelift. Your car looks great Ben and has obviously been well cared for. I hope you enjoy it for many years to come.
  4. I had a similar issue with my previous GS 450H and the problem was traced to the fact that both the prop shaft centre bearing and offside rear wheel bearing had failed.
  5. Interesting. I have used them for the last 13 years and can only say positive things.
  6. Is your car running normally despite the messages? I had a 2006 450h and I once had both of these messages but I remembered at the time it happened having previously read an old post on this site that said something along the lines of cycling through starting and stopping the car in quick succession and it could clear them. Typically I can't find that post now but it did work for me. What is the condition of your 12v battery? If this is on the way out it can also result in some strange messages being thrown up. With regard to the warranty for the hybrid battery, it's as @wharfhouse has stated but unfortunately as you state your car is a 2008 model this warranty would no longer apply. I think you have accidentally pressed the 'Luggage security' button in the glove box. If this system is activated it does exactly what you describe. It's easily done and many on here have done it in the past (including me).
  7. Hi Mike and welcome to the club. I take it you have purchased a RX 450h F Sport? I agree with @rayaans they should supply them with the car. If for some bizarre reason they can't or won't I would point them in the direction of the nearest dealership or to https://lexuspartsdirect.co.uk/ and demand they buy you a new set.
  8. Have you driven a Lexus hybrid Mark? I only ask as there have been a few posts on this forum were potential owners of the hybrid cars stated they were put off by the CVT gearbox as they did not like the increased engine 'noise' under acceleration (which incidentally returns to near silent once your required speed has been attained). This is due to the fact that as it's singled geared it stays at the required engine RPM until the required speed has been achieved. I cannot compare like with like so to speak but I have has two ES 300h F Sports (and a brand new Takumi) as courtesy cars and in my opinion the V6 in my GS 450h is far more refined than the 4 cylinder in the ES 300h, the same engine that powers the GS 300h. Again only my opinion.
  9. Also FYI if you would like ACC I know that on the pre-facelift 450h model it was only available on the Premier but it was an optional extra, just like the sunroof. However I do not know if it was even an option for the pre-facelift 300h Premier. Again hopefully someone else can clarify this. I had all the technical and spec info relating to the pre-facelift cars (250, 300h and 450h) bookmarked but, annoyingly, these pages are now no longer available. Good luck with your search Mark.
  10. HUD was only available with the Premier trim but although it is a standard feature on the facelift model (introduced in autumn 2015 according to the Lexus media site) I'm not sure if it was a standard feature or an optional extra on the pre-facelift model. Hopefully someone else can clarify. As @Legendliving states the sunroof was an optional extra, available on the Luxury, F Sport and Premier models. I am sure that I have read (but typically cannot find it now) that there was a joint sunroof/ACC option on pre-facelift 450h Premier but I don't know if this was the same for 300h Premier. Again hopefully someone will clarify. This is a link to the Lexus media site for the Mk4 GS. Although it states 2013-2018 all the specifications listed are for the facelift model as everything pre-facelift appears to have been deleted. https://media.lexus.co.uk/vehicles/gs-archive-2013/
  11. 🤣Oh how true that is!
  12. I have not heard of these blades myself but to my knowledge Denso wiper blades are Lexus OEM.
  13. Search the forums on this site. There are numerous posts about this subject and a conclusion would be that it seems that the insurance companies are using the increased report of thefts of newer Lexus models to justify declining or massively the increasing premiums on Lexus models that are not affected by the sole issue that only affects these newer cars.
  14. As per the link from @Tickedon that is the price for a full service but in addition the 10th year service includes the first engine coolant change. If your previous services haven't been that costly I would say you had a friendly dealer.
  15. Obviously can't comment on the particular car you are looking at as I haven't seen it but I would definitely recommend a GS to anyone. I believe them to be one of the most under appreciated and overlooked cars, especially by the motoring press, given the build quality, reliability and comfort. Is it a 300 or 450 you are looking at?
