  1. Mine was an ex-Lexus managerial car. I ran an ISF for several years beforehand. I’d seen a GSF in the showroom when it was released and was smitten. I love the interior detailing - the alcantara, the updated tech, the more comfortable seats. Outside, I love the styling - especially the carbon bits! The GSF drives a tiny bit softer than my ISF did - it just feels a little more grown up.
  2. I think it boils down to whether you think you need 2 or 4 doors...
  3. Another black GSF at a Hedge End! I bought the last one - absolutely love it!!
  4. The amount of horror stories I’ve read surrounding thefts of hot hatches... R/S3s, Golf R, Focus or Fiesta ST/RS - it’d certainly make me think twice about owning one too. The post-theft story will almost invariably feature the words “but I live in a nice area”. Indeed they might, but obviously these areas are easily reached by ne’er-do-wells in their cars... Its not even like the “good old days”, when the theft would take place on your driveway; with modern cars, you pretty much NEED the keys. The present spate of keyless thefts aside, the thieves have to come inside to get them. In a way, it makes me a bit happier having a car that’s not well known, and doesn’t attract attention like a dog’s proverbials...
  5. I think I’ll give up commenting. There’s such a lack of knowledge, anger and general tosh appearing on that PH thread. Some of it, I guess, can be expected for such a rare car (even hardcore petrolheads may have never seen one), some of it is symptomatic of the way PH has developed over the last few years. Ah well!
  6. Just saw that, felt it was my duty to write a paragraph or two!
  7. Why do auto cars even have neutral? I’ve never found a use for it, and I’ve owned several now - a Merc SL500, ISF, RX450h, GSF... edit: I don’t know if this is classified as a ‘use’ per-se, but in my old Merc SL, you couldn’t rev past 4000 in Park. If you wanted to experience the full noise (I absolutely did - my first V8!!!), then it had to be in Neutral!
  8. Maybe it’s the eco tyres to get the CO2 ratings down?
  9. I noticed this road noise on a courtesy NX, as well as the new CT. it’s almost like there isn’t enough sound deadening in the newer, smaller cars. I don’t think it’s unique to Lexus though...
  10. Theres almost nothing in it, weight-wise. 20-50kg depending on where you get your information. The RCF is the lighter of the two, but considering it’s a smaller car, has two doors less, doesn’t have TVD as standard; I wonder where that weight is... I found it laughable that, compared to the M5, the GSF was slated due to its weight, yet the M5 was nearly 200kg heavier as I recall!
  11. Porsche Portsmouth were *ok*... I never had a service there, but popped in for parts from time to time... ...actually, all the time, come to think of it! It was a pretty ferocious upkeep/maintenance schedule!
  12. I know I’m resurrecting a slightly dated thread, but I’ve only just seen this, and rushed out to block the vacuum pipe on my GSF! It sounds quite a bit different! The normal increase in noise from the twin-stage intake now comes in noticeably and seamlessly from about 2000rpm, not suddenly at about 3800-4000. I’ve only been for a quick spin around local roads - no motorway stuff yet. It’s a thumbs-up from me...
  13. He was even more complimentary about the LFA - there was no ‘probably’ about it... funnily enough I’ve just bought this very magazine to add to the downstairs khazi library...
  14. We rented a Seat Mii on holiday last year - it might have been a 1.0, maybe even smaller. It was tiny, underpowered, utterly basic and I almost always tried to change gear with the window winder, but by heck it was fun to thrash round the narrow, windy roads of the Algarve! Back on topic, I’d change the battery.
  15. I mostly use normal fuel in my GSF, as I did in my ISF before. I have run the occasional tank of V-power in both and didn’t notice any difference. I use V-Power in my S2000 - inside the filler door there’s a sticker saying to use 98+ octane fuel. I once had to run a tank of normal petrol due to higher octane fuel being unavailable and the car felt very flat between 8-9000rpm. Quite a different engine though!
  16. I think the front is lip-smackingly gorgeous. Properly lovely, and very close to the original concept car. I was fortunate enough to borrow one for 24hrs and in the flesh it’s so radically sleek and different from practically all other traffic, it stands out wonderfully. I think Lexus should be applauded for not first showing the LC as a concept artist’s render, then ploughing through their parts bin, changing the shape to fit and ultimately releasing something that looks like everything else! The back has yet to have the same effect. I don’t know if it needs a wing or something to bind the whole design together, but it’s a bit meh to me...
  17. Why not that gorgeous amazing blue that only the LC is available in? The one they keep banging on about with 500 billion flakes or something...
  18. I’m going to go out on a limb here - I can see why Lexus have made these, but I don’t like them. I don’t particularly like matte paint on road cars and I don’t particularly like the blue leather, or the accents. Each to their own though!
  19. If you all own ‘F’ Lexuses, you’re all as good-looking as me, right?
  20. It’s a small trek from the South Coast, but it’d be great to put faces to some of the cars and usernames on here!
  21. Ah! Suppose that’s good to hear. Thanks @rayaans :-)
  22. I hope the new gasoline particulate filters are a bit less of a liability than the diesel particulate filters have proven to be over recent years.
