Thanks Roy. I couldn’t see anything like this in my handbook - despite being a relatively thick guide, because the system is so complex, each section is a bit... sparse! I’ve got an 8Gb and a 32Gb pen drive. I’ll try with both and update this thread later. A few threads from the US merely suggest that the initialisation of a larger drive takes longer, but only the first time it’s plugged in. No mention of capacity limits. Ideally I’m aiming for a flush-fit USB device, as higher capacity as possible - like the Sandisk Ultra Fit - barely bigger than the USB connector itself!

All, I’d like to put some music on a USB drive to play in my car - playing via Bluetooth from my iPhone is killing the battery! Does anyone know if there’s a capacity limit to the infotainment system - will a 64Gb pen drive work? I’ve had a look in the manual but there’s no mention of a max size... any other file name/size/bitrate issues I should be aware of? Car is a 2016 GSF. Thanks!

The criticisms of the fake exhaust tips really bugs me. Lots of cars have it - why is it such a big deal? Just makes me think the lazy journo gathered all his knowledge from Clarkson, almost a decade ago... -

Are the photos we upload on here still geo-tagged? That could potentially have a bit of a sinister twist? Mods? -
It’ll be a battery disconnect or the car idling for a short length of time. I’ve had mine come back from a service and by the fuel economy history, it must have sat there idling for 15mins. I’d view any additional mileage beyond 1-2miles to be excessive unless you’ve specifically asked them to check an issue when the car’s being driven ...

Let’s see your F stinking dirty.

Is the front splitter not carbon on the RCF - it looks like grey plastic in that pic? I only ask, as the splitter on the GSF *is* carbon fibre, and mine has taken an utter battering from stone chips. I need to investigate getting it fixed, if it’s possible... Lovely F though! That blue really is stunning! -

Fear not - the GSF has 210mph clocks! -
Goodwood Sunday Service

It seems that a picture does exist of me! From the following Golf R owner... Ollie - I totally missed you - I fully intended to pop over and say hi! Car looked lovely and sounded great when you arrived :-) -
I went to the PistonHeads oragnised Sunday Service today - loads of interesting cars there! I met a nice chap called Adam from Toyota, who’d borrowed a lovely looking red RCF carbon. I also saw a dark grey/black ISF to complete the set, and as an aside managed to visit the memorial to Bruce McLaren and Sir Jack Brabham. Most of the time, I totally forgot to take photos, but the bacon sandwiches were great and the weather was freezing! The GSF was utterly faultless, although a healthy presence from Sussex constabulary on the journey home prevented too much fun!

That advert’s just given me a nosebleed! Not that it’d bother the seller presumably, but legally they’re on thin ice when describing the car as “absolutely, totally and utterly impossible to tell the difference between this and a brand new car..... Totally and utterly without any fault or wear and tear whatsoever” or some such...

IS-F running costs - the truth
mrfunex replied to Flytvr's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
In the 2.5 years I had my ISF, apart from a water pump (about £400?), I didn’t have to spend a penny that I didn’t want to. A great car, solidly built. General servicing was taken car of by a service plan which was about £35/month. Here’s hoping the GSF is as good! -

Thumbs up for AutoSol - it’s really good stuff. Not sure about waxing afterwards - surely it’d just burn off?

Was the water pump ever a recall, or just something we all have to do eventually?! -

Ah yes, the ‘other’ genius issue with the climate control on everyone’s favourite Bavarian car company’s offerings. The other being the E39 5 series - a friend had one. Allow me to explain... The cabin temperature sensor was located in the dashboard, just ahead of the cup holders. Marvellous plan, and presumably kept the sensor on the same PCB as the rest of the climate control computer gubbins for a lower production cost.... ...however... If you put a hot drink in the holder, the sensor right next to it immediately warmed up and thinks “hold on a minute - it’s BAKING in here!” You could almost hear the idle of the car drop as the air con wound up to speed, or; On a nice warm day, a chilled, bottled beverage was slotted into the cup holder. Cue the cabin sensor being affected by the cold and ramping the heater up to compensate... I despair! -

Have you tried letting any trapped air out of the system? -
The only experience I’ve had of Falkens were FK452s, and they were pretty good. How many miles do you do a year/what kind of driving?

That’s mine! A great example (IMO!) with a H&S exhaust, Takeda intake and 2013 OEM suspension. It’s had money poured at it simply because I loved it. I left the dealer with an A4 lever-arch folder of every single piece of paper documenting every single pound that was ever spent on it! It’s had a new water pump and the airbag recall. I think £21,450 is a tad ambitious, but that’s up to them... I part ex’d it through the dealers as I had in mind a cost to upgrade, and because of the excellent condition of the ISF, there was some room for manoeuvring on the GSF price - anyway, we made the deal work. I know selling privately *may* have netted me a few quid more, but not much, and probably not in the timeframe I wanted - these are rare cars and genuine buyers are as rare! As for the actual financial details - Should I reveal them? As I say, I wasn’t bothered by the part-ex value, or the sale price of the GSF; just the difference between the two. The ISF was worth about what I expected from a main dealer, and I managed to save about 10% on the advertised price on the GSF. As always, happy to discuss!
