  2. Hey all! So I bought a cheap digital cluster from an 09 600 and retrofitted into the car. All is well and everything seems to be functioning perfectly, even managed to change the language to English 😂 but one thing I’m stumped on is the speedo and odo. They’re both in KM’s. Now, I presumed it would be a simple setting change in Techstream but I’ve just spent the last 2 hours going through every option I can find and nothing will change the cluster. Lexus have told me that it might not be possible to change, i suggested just flashing my dash with “uk” software but they said they can’t do that. does anyone have any suggestions??
  3. My apologies, I should have updated the thread. yes, there was a hairline split in the top of the radiator. Only managed to spot it when it started bubbling from lack of coolant lol. Ordered a genuine radiator from Lexus and tried to replace myself (i’ve done the same job on a couple of 430’s and IS’s) but there were a couple of bolts I couldn’t get to so ended up having Lexus do it. they managed to overfill the coolant so it was still steaming for a week after the repair while the excess coolant evaporated away but it’s been fine since January!

  7. Hey all! Been doing some research into the credit card key for the LS and subsequent newer models but I’m having a hard time figuring out if it’s available for my 2007 600hL. Lexus state it is under part number 89904-50851 but I can’t find any (UK) information on this part. There are various card keys on eBay and I was hoping to pick one up, blank it and then program it with Techstream. My trouble is with the Denso Part numbers. 14AEC sounds like the one I need but they’re far pricier than the newer 14CCB and 14CCF. Has anyone done this before? I know there are posts for doing it with a newer IS but I can’t seem to find any (UK) information on the subject.
  8. Logically yes but the inverter cooler and condenser are both wet with coolant, the radiator isn’t. That’s what is confusing me. I’ll see if I can find a diagram of the cooling system and see exactly what runs up the top near the coolers
  9. Ok so just to update, new radiator arrived and I’ve spent the last 4 hours of sunlight trying to get the old one out. It appears the existing radiator might be ok, it’s bone dry. What I didn’t realise is that there as a cooler for the inverter and that has the same colour coolant. my issue is that the inverter cooler and condenser are sopping wet from something, the coolant level is always low but the inverter coolant is always at max. im at my wits end now, any advice would be very helpful. Google doesn’t seem to result in any similar situations with the 600hL
  10. Yep definitely coolant. Camera doesn’t pick it up very well but it definitely has a pink tinge to it. I can only assume there is a hole in the radiator, behind the condenser, and it’s just weeping through.
  11. I doubt it. The car was sold “as seen” by a private seller. The owner of the car was a member of this forum (LOC Sticker in the rear window) but he passed away and the car was sold by his family. The car has extensive history and drove fine on the test drive but this is a bit of a kick in the sensitives. £250 for a new rad and £230 for a condenser. I thought I was done fixing cars lol.
  12. Good evening all! Long time since I’ve needed to post on here. Got a query that I could do with some input on. a couple of weeks have passed since I picked up my “new to me” ‘07 LS600hL and it appears I have a coolant leak (happy days). I have attached a couple of photos, apologies it’s very dark at the moment. I was wondering if I need to replace the condenser or just the radiator. climate control was ice cold and toasty warm up until 2 days ago when it just constantly blew cold and later that night I noticed my coolant was below minimum. I topped up the coolant this evening and then noticed what appears to be old/existing coolant on the front of the condenser. am I correct in my observation? Would I be better just replacing both for the sake of preventative maintenance? thoughts and input appreciated as always 🙂

Long time since I’ve been here after selling my old LS430. just bought a wonderful example of an LS600hL and I was wondering if someone had a list of the dealer configurable options? I’ve found the list for the 460 on this site and I had one for the 430 when I had features programmed into that but nothing for the 600? My 2 local Lexus dealerships don’t have any information on it either, which seems odd. I’m just looking to add one touch indicators, welcome/follow me home lights and if the drivers seat can be added to the easy entry/exit function. It seems odd I could program these and more onto my 2002 BMW 7 series and my 2003 Merc S-Class had all of that as standard, so why not a newer Lexus 😂 thanks in advance everyone ☺️
  14. Yeah I’m ringing them again today to let them know that the car is back on for sale, as well as alerting eBay. question, should he still be trading if he is on a suspended sentence? Especially as the conviction was for knowingly selling a faulty car
  15. Lol yeah he gave a refund, albeit under slight protest and giving me all sorts of mouthy remarks whilst I counted the money! Yeah I saw those pigs flying by down my way too Acre 😂 the car is back up on eBay now with the issues I described buried in the description but no mention of the P0660 code in there!
  16. Ok, no one in the south seemed to want to touch my keys, especially with the lack of a master. This, along with all the other options has resulted in me getting the car returned for a refund. WARNING: if anyone sees a silver Lexus LS430 Reg EJ53NDD, DO NOT BUY!!!! It has no keyless and will cost in excess of £2k to sort. It has a host of issues, especially front end steering/assembly related. Scratches and dents that make it look like it was vandalised beyond belief. Better put your money into a more decent example.
  17. Lol Acre, I think I’ll be using the mirror for more....physical purposes if I see him again! Was called by Dudley trading standards this afternoon oddly enough, they seemed very interested in what has occurred so further action seems to be in the works. As for the original topic, no luck with the locksmith. They had misinformation and thought my car was an IS350....very odd! Still, they didn’t charge me so that’s a bonus. Seems like it’s not possible to program without the master.
  18. got the guy coming tomorrow so will keep this thread updated and add contact details for the company if they do manage to fix it. Says he should be able to do it. Makes me nervous when they say “should” though haha. Getting an ECU out of a scrapper was my first thought though, assuming it had the keys with it but for the sake of £100 for the locksmith, it’s worth a shot. things still aren’t going well on the trader front, more issues coming up now including a “check VSC” message and now a P0660 DTC. Down the rabbit hole we go it seems!
  19. Yep that’s the guy Acre. lol Steve you’re right on! Like you can read minds/see the future haha. Having a very interesting text conversation with him currently. this is very odd topic though. Back to the original post, getting the car looked at by a couple of locksmith who are very confident that a new master can be programmed. I’ll keep this page updated with progress

  21. Thanks for that John, greatly appreciated. unfortunately I can’t return the car as this is now the only car I have and it would be detrimental for me to be without one. I agree though, thinking back about how he spoke and how he showed me around the car, a lot of what he said doesn’t add up.

  24. The more I read on US forums, the more I think that flashing the ECU is possible but not through Lexus. Anyone used a locksmith for this kind of thing on a Lexi before?
  25. Ummm....yeah....have you been watching me again 😜 jk I took his description rather literally and he explained the 2 faults that weren’t listed and it seemed fine when driving at 30mph on side streets. More fool me
