  1. No worries chap's. Mystery trim left off and all bolted back up. No exploded diagram, local dealer has no clue and I can't access any manual for car. Joy!
  2. Just bringing this up. Still none the wiser and it's bugging me No one got access to a workshop manual that could have a quick look for me?
  3. Ambermarine, Do you have a link? I tried searching but can only find threads where tinonline talks about his intention to change the belt? I've got my belt off all fine, just need to decided on these seals! No details of cam seals changes or any pictures that I can find! Thanks
  4. Sorry. I meant to put TB (timing belt) not TV. Its a 98 do a vvti engine. cams out for seal changes as I understand, anyone got a manual write up for this procedure? would be handy, they are only slightly weeping and if I can't find them at a sensible price I shall ignore it. Thanks Jake
  5. I'm doing a TV change and all are slightly weeping. Lexus wanted £52.15 per cam seal and £46.63 for crank seal. Also need rocker cover gaskets which were just under £17 a side from lexus uk This is over £200 in seals alone, anyone know a better supplier with a sensible price? Thanks all
  6. It's probably very rotten once you remove the shields and poke around. The heat shields hold moisture against it which is where they seem to go. New y section from lexus is £300ish plus VAT. Weld a new section in is the way to go. With regards to other areas the cat flanges are known to rot, these can be repaired but not quite so simple and easy. The rest is stainless I believe.
  7. Thankyou very much for clarifying. Bluesman must either have an import or a mk3. Or just have confused himself again! Thanks all
  8. Can you try to reload the picture from a mk4 handbook? And confirm it is actually a UK handbook. I can't see anywhere a light will be on my dash, no outline of it or blown bulb upon removal and inspection
  9. Bluesman, You've also replied in this thread but with a different answer? http://www.lexusownersclub.co.uk/forum/topic/84522-hi-all-new-ls400-owner-here/ I'm feeling confused. does no one have a uk owners manual they could check?!
  10. Further research leads me to the fact that a UK MK4 ls400 has no check engine or check vsc light. The us cars do, but the UK cars will display 'check vsc' or 'check engine' on the multi function display. Thanks for help guys
  11. I'll start a new thread on it soon :) No real issues other than blowing centre section of exhaust I plan to repair and a wheel bearing that I'm hoping will adjust up and be okay! Already sorted washer level sensor and polished the faded headlights up :) I have on order; cambelt, tensioner, water pump, air filter, fuel filter, oil filter, cabin filter, fan belt, spark plugs, ATF oil, diff oil and engine oil. :) Also plan to clean throttle body, any ideas where to source a gasket cheaper than lexus OEM? And valve clearances will be checked, are the rocker cover seals usually okay to re use? also anyone done a guide for checking these on a mk4? Cheers guys! :D hopefully going to end up well sorted and last a few years!
