  1. It’s a tough call, the actual design is excellent (in its intended function) which is to warming the gearbox oil and giving full use of all gears and protects damage from hard driving from cold.....this is obviously the down side.....think the biggest issue is not knowing the maintenance of the car 100%......possibly only takes someone to top up with tap water and that’ll be the start of longitivtiy of the part put in jeopardy.......it seems to be a design they still use today across the auto line up. Hopefully all will be ok 👍🏻
  2. I’m sure it’ll be fine, hopefully the photos will put your mind at rest a bit, the added bonus for me is that the guy that worked on mine in Westfield has one too, he was literally dribbling with joy, I trust (Ian and Chris implicitly) the owners of Westfield BUT to have a mechanic there that owns an F has made me even more confident. good luck Barry, keep chasing them and thanks Scott, hopefully a meet next year when I go up to Penrith visiting family 🤞🏻
  3. There’s very light corrosion at the base BUT probably caused by rain water sitting on it, I was told they tend to fail from within, could of taken rad home and cut in half to see condition......cost was £526 all in......then service and auto box fluid change on top.......£806 total BUT cheaper than £5k for a failure.........they did say there wasn’t any rhyme or reason for some failing and others not 🤷🏼‍♂️
  4. Today was the day for the rad replacement, service, auto box fluid change and wiper blades 🙄.....was told it’s hard to judge the corrosion level as it normally fails from the inside, I took a couple of photos, she is a 2008 with 69200 miles on her......service carried out was 70k.
  5. This was July this year the day we set off for Spain, 2600 miles round trip, car didn’t miss a beat
  6. Mine is still on standard wheels 👍🏻
  7. I informed them prior to changing, unless they know the car they will assume they’re all the same wheel, as they’re corner specific u could end with two different sizes on both ends of the car, I wouldn’t leave it to luck personally Ray
  8. Yep, they’re 275/30/19 on rear, 245/35/19 on front, I feel it makes a difference and prices were the same from memory
  9. The total number of Red ISF’s sold in the U.K. was 17......Lexus Woodford had never seen one in the flesh until I had the recall for airbag actuator......I’m led to believe there are only 8 left 🤷🏼‍♂️......I’ve had mine about five and a half years, pretty much standard baring the GSF manifolds, Lems elbow and a bespoke SS exhaust made......tyre sizes up by 20mm on both front and back.
  10. ISF?.....if it’s owned image how much you save on rent, reliability, performance and practically all in one. 🤔👍🏻
  11. I had a friend in a similar position a few years back, he openly admitted the finance in his listing and sold the vehicle privately with the new owner pay the purchase price off the finance company and he paid the last part off himself on the same call, new owner got email confirmation that the vehicle was free from finance.......possibly a better option 🤷🏼‍♂️
  12. Can’t vouch for Lexus as I don’t use them, Westfield do have courtesy cars available when booking, the first service is normally a bit of a blank cheque, although not to expensive as they like to go through the car to see exactly how it’s been looked after, they never undertake any work without your consent so no nasty shocks
  13. You will have ABSOLUTELY no trouble with your car at all!.....Karl cherished that car and she wanted for nothing
  14. I use “Westfield” Toyota and Lexus specialists, they’re based in Rawreth near Rayleigh, their hourly rate is £60 from memory, only genuine Lexus parts, have used them for the past four Lexus I’ve owned 15 years, Lexus know of them as they’re ex Lexus mechanics. Mines going in on the 2nd December for the radiator issue, cost is about £600 from memory, On the air bag actuator recall Lexus Woodford did a “health check” 🤷🏼‍♂️.....passed the car as 100% and proceeded to ask who look after the car....the response was....oooooh, ok. whereabouts are u?
  15. I’ve had my ISF for over 5 years now, had a year Lexus warranty when purchased and have had no warranty beyond that year, other than services and tyres the car has cost me nothing....I personally wouldn’t waste my money and wouldn’t use Lexus due to costs, I use a Toyota, Lexus specialist and halve the service costs too.....if it’s been looked after it’ll cost u nothing
  16. Up shift in sport @ 2000 rpm possibly wouldn’t respond due to being in manual sport mode?.....the car is wanting u to drive it, possibly slots in once it’s realised u actually want a higher gear at low rpm, as for sliding over to D from M I think it takes around 30 seconds to register that you want to change driving modes from sport to daisy 😉......I’d check the gear response at higher rpm like 4K.....could just be driving styles and wrong modes for the car
  17. Not noticed anything on mine, she will downshift on her own when slowing BUT that’s only for better acceleration when heading back up the range, if in normal mode when I paddle down I sometimes feel the need to downshift once or twice for better lift.
  18. I’m with admiral too, I pay under £600 for my F and my daily C70 convertible, 5 cars costs me £2k a year, my son 22, ep3 type-R,....daughter 19, Chevrolet Aveo n the wife’s Auris.....obviously the kids pay for their own BUT they are also accumulating their own NCB.
  19. Rad replacement put back due to units on back-order, car booked in for December 2nd as back-order due for delivery to Lexus on the 27th......🙄
  20. Nice one Mo, hopefully by spring next year we’ll be able to set up a breakfast meet......there’s a fair few Essex owners now 👍🏻
  21. Had a chat with the fella at the lights, told him to join the forum, was nice to actually see another red one in the flesh!....like spotting a unicorn 😉
  22. I had a bespoke system made from cat back, after 2 years it still has a drone at 65-80ish, I’ll be dropping it off for a resonator install in the centre to hopefully eliminate the drone, the car is fine as is on flat surface, slight incline and the drone is present......they do settle down a bit after about 2000miles BUT for me I wish I’d just had back boxes first and then car back BUT I didn’t 🤷🏼‍♂️
  23. @Flytvr, one from Loch Lomand week before last for u Dav😉
  24. I’ve had my ISF for around 5-1/2 years now, having had the IS250 for the previous 5 years my only niggle is I’ve been in the same seat for over 10 years, I’ve recently had a wobble n seriously thought about a jag xf 5ltr V8 portfolio, a Merc 6.2 V8 C63 (estate due to dogs or saloon)....2 doors never been my thing, also the 5ltr RR sport.......I’ve asked all n sundry n I’ve come to the conclusion that I can’t bring myself to part with the F......I can’t part with my old faithful C70 convertible either so it’s possibly another car as daily n dog transporter 😳.
