Car Insurance Companies
Womble72 replied to dman2004's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Unfortunately all insurance companies are in the money making game, their goal is to reduce payouts wherever possible, I’m with Admiral with a multi car policy, all usual excesses applicable, my premium is around £2000 for the year, this is an umbrella scheme where those on it actually accumulate their own N/C bonus BUT discounts are applied for numerous cars, Auris hybrid - Wife Civic type R ep3 - Son (22) Jazz se- daughter (20) ISF, C70 convertible and insignia estate (mine) im under no illusions where insurance companies are concerned -

I had the gearbox oil changed on mine at last service (68k from memory)....mine clicked over 70k today, I’ve had the manifolds replaced on mine, I had the GSF ones fitted with minimal alterations needed, cost was 10hrs Labour £650 at my local Lexus Indy specialists, I had the rad replaced at last service as a precautionary measure, personally I wouldn’t bother with Lexus, the cars to old and they don’t know enough about the F model to warrant to fee, my Indy actually have an ISF personally and only use Lexus parts......one way that u can check for cracking is the heat shielding will probably have some exhaust soot from escaping gases, my ticking was present until off cold start, noticeable on acceleration (not hard, just there) and harder to hear once warmed up, one branch cracked 360 degrees. Service history is about reputable garages that know these cars and not about the dealer stamp for me!......my Indy is in Rawreth Essex so not a million miles away -
Tbh I have found myself looking at the C63 and e63 BUT in estate versions, reliability scares he as if it were to replace my F it’ll also replace my C70 convertible and my daily insignia estate, having two dogs really complicates things 😂.....can’t put them in my F ( I just can’t) and struggle to justify 3 cars and a motorbike 🙄....... for now I’m struggling on with the three I have as I know I’ll regret passing the F on 😬

What is my car worth?
Womble72 replied to kieron1977's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
It may be worth asking a few performance garages, some may do a sale and commission, some a cash purchase, I know a couple of people that sold directly to garages and got what they wanted, my 08 has 69k and a friend offered me £18k......I just laughed at him, we buy any car are crap from my experience, the car will sell to someone who knows and appreciates these cars, there’s not many about BUT indications are theres more than there was -
UK mades ISF headers, who's interested?
Womble72 replied to Twellsie's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Yeah I’ve seen his posts, not sure if he’d be buying U.K. ones 😂.....or what postage n import would cost him...... was thinking of getting them welded n selling on BUT not much call here tbh -

It’s a 10hr job to change out the manifolds on these cars......I’ve had mine done due to cracking, still got the cracked ones in the garage. -

Try Westfield motors in Rayleigh, they’re Toyota/Lexus specialist, they look after my F and carried out a geometric check after I had my GSF manifolds installed, ask for Chris or Ian. They’re the proprietors -
Can any garage fix the RC F cars
Womble72 replied to Hatat's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
No, as long as genuine parts are used and the garage is a reputable one (VAT I think) -

Not from me, they look after my ISF, the wife Auris and my sons type R.....last service they replaced my radiator (preventative measure, my instruction) a full service and it cost £812 parts n Labour.....they ONLY use genuine parts so any warranty remains valid, they looked after my old IS250-sel from new, it NEVER went into Lexus. -

I’ve used Westfield for years, they are excellent, Toyota n Lexus specialist, they’re half the price of the main dealers and twice as effective.....you need to speak to Ian or Chris as they are the owners, one of their staff has an ISF too......honestly can’t recommend enough -
Garage Recommendation for header change
Womble72 replied to Rudgie319's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
If u do Facebook look up Roman Schapp, he has a company chronos racing and along with a Japanese mate they set up the European link to Japanese parts.....he may be able to help with information, I used Westfield (Toyota and Lexus specialist) in Rawreth, Rayleigh, Essex when I had my manifolds changed, I’ve got GSF ones fitted, the bill was about £1200 inc vat BUT that included a new O2 sensor that had welded itself in with the heat 🙄 -

Sorry didn’t mean to sound in happy 😂.......I honestly don’t know exactly how that car is now BUT under Ryo ownership it wanted for nothing, he changed the rear seat to accommodate 5 people, the belt hooks etc are the same so nothing needed to be altered, the only thing he changed was the sport button, he put that on the steering wheel and I think he sacrificed the cruise control although all still there to put back the standard spec, there’s a few non U.K. parts due to being Japanese and small enough to fit in his suit case 😂......I think the LSD cost him about £4K to have done, loosing the car in a divorce was hard for him BUT she was making moves against his GSF......he travels about 15000 a year, his GSF is probably the highest miler in the U.K. 😂......like I say,....it “was” a lovely car when he owned it, last 10/15k who knows 🤷🏼♂️.......BUT no offence meant in previous post (no tonality in messages) all the best Paul -

Sorry to read about your circumstances Rich, a friend of mine sold his to a dealer (not Lexus) he said he got a good price for it and it took all the agg out of selling private,......a dealer will always move a car quicker due to finance option which a private seller can’t offer......the question for you is......”what are you happy to get for it”......wishing u luck with the sale and more so with a new job and the opportunity to keep the car. -

I know that car and it’s previous owner, he’s known to a few on here from meets (Ryo) he’s a Japanese mate of mine, everything on that car has been done at Milton Keynes Lexus, the only fault that I know of was when he bought his new GSF he gave this to his (now ex wife).....and she pretty much kerb all the wheels, she sold it last year to this owner, it “was” a great car but obviously I don’t know between then and now. -

Isf 08/09 vs 2010+ differences.
Womble72 replied to Ste.Daley's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I think the newer set up is cheaper than the original, like for like.....Labour costs to replace would probably work out dearer than replacing a faulty latter one......I’ve had mine coming up six years n still can’t see me parting. -

Womble72 replied to Ste.Daley's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
I’ve bought a set for my 08 from a low miler 2011, not fitted yet BUT told it does make a difference.....€280 is very good, I paid £350 for mine -

Gents, even after 2030 and the supposed stop of the combustible engine petrol will still be saleable, that won’t stop in our lifetime, as for VED that will probably stop at some point too, electric car are non taxable so the government will look to raise lost revenues on a millage system of some sort, something that we all will pay for on an individual usage......no way round that one......electric cars are not beneficial or a plus on an environmental front until 50k millage, most new cars are rented and not owned making it extremely non environmental purchase in the offset......I’ll be keeping my burial chariot for a lot longer yet. 😂🤣 -

I’ve owned my ISF for coming up six years in May, the only car I thought about was the Quatroportte (probably spelt wrong)......love the look BUT not the reliably (what I’m told)......I’ve no intentions of changing as nothing else tiggles my fancy tbh, there were only 70 GSF’s sold in the U.K. so sourcing one would be harder, I’ve a daily C70 convertible, (which I absolutely love) the wife an Auris and the kids have Honda Civic type-r and daughter jazz, love the reliability of jap cars and would only buy the kids jap as their first cars.......honestly don’t know where to go from here as there really isn’t anything out there for now 🤷🏼♂️ -

Womble72 replied to Irish ISF's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
Problem here is there’s a lot less of us, I’d be interested BUT not sure what discount you’d get, I know H&S only offered 5% on a 5+ group buy...... Keep us posted though 🤞🏻 -
Radiator Replaced!

600h is still a Toyota. I find Indys want repeat business so go that extra mile with what they’ve done and their honesty with what they find.....they’re not paid if there’s no cars to work on unlike main agent’s -

Yes, I don’t trust main-dealers I’m afraid.....BUT I do make sure the Indy specialise in the field they advertise as, I’ve used Westfield for around 18 years now with all my Lexus and family jap wagons 👍🏻
