  1. The quote I had was for the complete car, tbh I didn’t know enough about it so did ask for front end, once I’ve seen it in the flesh I would consider it to protect from chips.
  2. I’ve recently had my front end painted, both wings, bonnet and bumper, car is pearlescent Mesa red, cost was £700 and you wouldn’t notice it had been painted, just had a H10 5yr ceramic coating applied, (paint depth was the within a couple of points all over and that’s after the repaint) cost was £650, paint film protection I was quoted £3500 for 😳……..a good painter will match the paint!……… it really is that simple, hope the above helps
  3. I’d imagine Lexus techs are on the clock with regards to serving times/work time allocated, this is the issue on maindealers, I know each to their own BUT for me that’s why I always use an Indy specialist, complete opposite work ethic as it’s in their interest to do the job correctly….. the filter has probably been replaced with clips off and prising up for access, time saving exercise on a time and motion check which is what most corporate companies work to, another trick is to replace the oil filter and replace the 1 litre lost rather than the whole sump drained, gearbox oil change is another overlooked item (was with 2 of my IS’s with full dealer history)……oil is a hard one tbh, need to dip and wipe several times including rotating the head. Good luck with it
  4. I had cracked manifolds on mine, this isn’t the same type of noise, manifolds are noisy on start up and quiet down after a few moments as the metal expands…….one of my branches was completely snapped and only held in place due to the bolts, hopefully it’s not to expensive to rectify 🤞🏻
  5. Was nice to meet you Rob, hopefully we’ll get a weekend away sorted, not sure it’ll be this year or next BUT will keep u posted
  6. That’s the one, not sure what the food aspect will be….. never eaten in the area but I’m told there’s lots of options
  7. Sorry to hear this Mo, was a lovely sight to in Gants Hill area, hopefully things will change for the better.
  8. Ze Germans are welcome to attend, I’m assuming u still have warranty? 😂🤣…..more than welcome mate.
  9. No worries, have a lovely holiday
  10. Sorry the date is the 29th August, same time and venue, it’s my wedding anniversary on 28th 🙄…….and Karl’s wife is on a hen do…….. DEFINITELY happening on the 29th cheers, Paul
  11. Hi all, a couple of friends are arranging a get together on 28/08/21 at 13:00hrs (ish) at the Tesla charging station on the M40 near Oxford, the meet is just a social gathering and those that want there will probably be a spot of grub in Oxford somewhere, would be great if some are up for after the last 18 months or so, all are welcome, Paul
  12. Tenth MOT on my F, not 1 advisory......it’s become a must these days 😂👍🏻
  13. Only my personal view.....BUT as 86% of cars are either PCP, HP/leased or company cars the manufacturing companies don’t want secondhand cars, I think they have to by law offer an alternative to new but can pick n choose what to forecourt, we are constantly bombarded with Toyota trying to get us to PX the wife’s car BUT it’ll be scrapped before it gets sold, either a new hybrid set up or constantly run on fuel until it’s totally had it!........I can’t justify the associated loss on a new car so I’m the worst car buyer to a main dealer 😂.......my F and Z1000 are toys, I’ve a runner for work n the wife has hers, I dread to think of the money I’ve lost to dealers over the years, it took a long time for me to grow up and at 49 I’m finally there 😂🤣........
  14. Got a funny feeling that was rattys car, if so it was a lovely car when he had it, possibly still a forum car......make sure rad has been done as a failure is £3500-£8000 to rectify
  15. The car feels better in handling aspect when in and about the lanes, have never tracked mine so can’t say if that’s the case or just a feeling I’m getting 😂
  16. I’m running 245/35/19 and 275/30/19 Vredesteins on mine.....prices were the same from memory.....will be opting for pilots next.......
  17. Westfield motors in Rawreth Essex, owners are ex Lexus/Toyota mechanics, one of the Mechanics has an ISF himself, been using them for about 20yrs.
  18. Fuel costs 24 daily, 35 on a run @ 70ish.
  19. I’ve had mine for over six years now, I know Scott’s car well as the previous owner is a friend, it’s a very well looked after car, personally I never opted for the extended warranty and I’m quids in for doing so, only costs I’ve had are servicing, tyres and I had the rad changed as a precautionary measure, the Valley plate is an American issue mainly due to heat and the same for dash n door cards, a lot is how your going to drive it, if u opt to track regularly then u need to expect associated issues, nothing will last forever if it’s abused, personally I’d be looking for a car that’s known with history with EITHER main dealer and a specialist Indy (Indy is my personal preference)........as said above manifolds can be an issue and 10hrs to change, Indy £600 main-dealer double.......and manifolds upwards of £1600.....good luck with your quest it’ll knock spots off ze Germans
  20. Can only go on my Japanese mates comments, he had ISF n has GSF, had an LC500 whilst his was in for a service, he didn’t rate it, said it was to soft n reckons the fuel was atrocious compared to his GSF......he said reliability was an issue as the F cars were a long time in the making/research compared to the LC 🤷🏼‍♂️
  21. If any advice your taking id listen to @B1 RMA, Dave has a massive history of fast cars, personally I’d avoid the LC although a lovely car it’s warranty cost says it all, I’ve a Japanese friend who has a GSF and was extremely disappointed with the LC500 (loan car).....can’t speak from a personal level BUT both guys I’d take on board their views......RCF is a fantastic car, good luck with journey
