  1. I think you’re correct, think repair bill was £8k for new box and north of £3500 to rebuild existing box…… think I paid about £500 for mine parts and labour as a preventative measure after reading on here that someone’s had failed
  2. Unfortunately it’s a “Toyota” thing, they share part of the system that has both gearbox oil and coolant running side by side…….well actually up n under, the problem is corrosion “can” take place within the unit, the water will then contaminate the gearbox oil, the idea behind it is actually very good, the water coolant helps to get the gearbox oil up to temperature quicker so actually aids the life of the box BUT unfortunately corrosion will take place eventually BUT there is no millage recommendation to change it, all Toyota autos have the same design so it’s not just the ISF that will eventually suffer from it.
  3. yes I remember it well matey 😂🤣
  4. What did u buy in the end??……pictures etc??….. hope you’re enjoying it
  5. Not cheap from memory, want to say around £600+…….I know I was quoted £400 for a pair of SS back boxes, I was enquiring a few years back when a few had fallen off with other members, I kept mine and had them check the fixings when I had the exhaust made, I also remember thinking I’d have the tips extended rather than pay the extortionate cost to replace
  6. Probably cheaper to get a pair of rear boxes made by an Indy SS exhaust company, think these are about £400 to buy
  7. Think alcantara was available in the USA……not known any here with it tbh
  8. Was a channel island car (Jersey) and the emissions section wasn’t filled in on the paperwork
  9. I’m contemplating selling mine, I’m not using it very much, being relocated to central London, have a daily estate that’ll be sitting on the driveway too, two cars going nowhere, mine is a bit of a uni corn, it has a bespoke SS cat back exhaust, GSF manifolds, lems air intake AND taxes at pre 2001 rates, I’ve had it 7 years, think it’s 8 years in May…….. has 71k with full history…….. BUT I’m not 100% convinced if I’m honest 🤔
  10. It’s not an ISF, IS500-F sport, only available in US, very divided opinion, main one being it’s not an F and will never be accepted as one 🤷🏼‍♂️……. Lots of short falls with equipment when comparing to an F…… think it’s pitched as more of a cruiser
  11. You will also need the heat shields for the GSF as they are different to the ISF ones……. Lexus themselves will not fit them, they do fit on like for like with minimal alterations BUT they point blank refused to quote when I asked, factor in a 10hr labour cost unless your good with spanners and have a lift
  12. Bore size, GSF’s have a bigger bore whereas PPE’s are probably the same bore as ISF manifolds
  13. I’ve got GSF manifolds on my ISF, S/S cat back sports exhaust system, I’ve got (not on yet) full 2011 suspension and RR lower arms to hopefully stop inner tyre wear…… manifolds go straight on, oil tube needs to be reformed to miss larger manifolds and exhaust lip on underside flange connection has to be cut off and a gasket installed……. The difference is very noticeable.
  14. Sorry I’m in the Essex area, I’ve had an e36 M3 a long time ago, tbh I’ve had mine for 7 years n prior to that the IS250-sel, same layout but different cars, had that for 5 years, I drove a mate F-type 5ltr s/c jag and found that to be extremely floating feeling, the ISF is far more hunkered down to the point of feeling like the tarmac is being thrown out the back of the car, a friend has the C63 V8 but said the ISF feels more powerful OR better at putting the power down, the V8 M3 that followed the e36 (don’t know the E number) is terrible compared to the F, raspy n slow side by side, possibly better on the track BUT the majority of any cars life is highway driving……. The latter ISF has a different steering ECU and I’ve a friend who’s had an 08 and a 2010 (2011 spec car) and said the feedback are poles apart……. Any car is a tough buy without an extremely good test drive BUT I personally wouldn’t go back to BMW or Mercedes, except where a daily estate is needed.
  15. 09 plate in white??…… think that’s my mates old car, work was done at Lexus Milton Keynes??
  16. Definitely worth a visit, lots of interior parts in US being replaced due to defects………unless there’s physical damage there’s an argument to be had
  17. I do have 2011 suspension in the garage to be fitted, along with RR lower arms. Looking forward to seeing the difference tbh, I’d like the steering ECU from a later car, heard this makes a huge difference 🤷🏼‍♂️
  18. U won’t be disappointed, I’ve had mine for nearly 8 years now, 08-09 are slightly faster, LSD is a personal thing (can’t comment) but heard it’s only slightly noticeable on a track/track environment 🤷🏼‍♂️…….. (had a set of GSF manifolds as can be prone to cracking on one branch) other than that I’ve not spent anything on mine other than service costs…… Red, blue n white are rarest…..in that order, other think to make sure of it rad/oil cooler replacement has been done, can fail inside out with no noticeable corrosion, most have done this on a preventative measure……. Sunroof was the only U.K. option available so they’re hard to come by……. Mine is under £250 a year to insure with no insurance stipulations……. As others I’m way away from your location, but they are definitely a wolf in sheeps clothing…… good luck with your quest
  19. I’d have an orange one all day long if I had the funds 😢……. My finance days are long behind me, don’t like any debt so I’m out of the equation…… although I still wouldn’t sell my ISF 🤔
  20. I like them a lot, I also liked the blue Lexus plates that lit up on the door shuts that my is-sel had AND the amber/red Speedo cluster, shame these simple things didn’t make it to the F 😢
  21. I’ve heard “we buy any car” are paying above most part exchange prices, maybe worth a look, there’s also high performance independent garages to consider.
  22. Last years jaunt to Spain, very respectable mpg, fuel was mega expensive 😢
  23. The original came out on top in their opinion, I think the original will be the one to have 😉
