  1. Hi all, Was wondering what price is good for 10-12k a year? Mine is due in October, renewal has come through at £268 with £600 excess, I don't do 10k, more like 5-7k a year, other than the norm, can anyone recommend a company for comparison, Cheers, Paul
  2. I'd recommend "Westfield motors" in Rawreth, Rayleigh, Essex, they are "Lexus specialists" looked after my IS-250 from new, that's where I'll be taking my F to next month, would take you about 35-40 minutes to get there from dartford.
  3. Welcome to the club, like u I always went the German route, but I'm now on my 4th Lexus, all have been nothing less than superb, mine like yours is standard for now, I'm hoping to have an exhaust made for mine by my nephews friend, he was a Rolls mechanic n then Aston Martin, has hand build engines n gearboxes, a painter too, he's relocated back here, so when I can, he's going to paint, detail and make the exhaust, BUT it will have wait for now, as we're halfway through an extension, so maybe another exhaust tune to listen to at some point, may well see u about too, as I'm only in Wickford. 👍👍😊
  4. Me personally, I wouldn't use main dealers, there's a specialist near me, half the cost n twice as good, like I say, that's "me personally" I don't trust main dealers, it wouldn't bother me if the history had "Lexus specialist alternative" service stamp. Don't get me wrong, not "formula 1 or kwik fit" lol. Give you an idea, my 60k is due next month, they want £450 compaired to £890 Lexus want. But its up to the individual
  5. Hi, I've just recently sold an 06 SE-L with 42k, family owned from new, I got 6500 for it, it never had any money spent on it other than servicing, tyres, discs n pads, Lexus offered me 4750 for it, so I wouldn't pay anymore than 6500 BUT it would have to have low mileage, BUT equally, don't be put off by mileage, as there VERY reliable. Paul
  6. Thanks for the ride out in your car stu, I was suprised at the quietness in the car to be honest, but sounds great under load, the tunnel was an acustic dream on the way home, was nice to see ANOTHER IS-F on the road, let alone six, and a nice finish was Chris's RC-F.
  7. Hopefully your hear me in about an hour 👍
  8. Can't list my history, it's way to long, but my Lexus history is IS 200 sport IS 300 aero sport IS 250-SE-L IS-F Had an M3 Eco, mercs, audis, amongst them Wife has a RAV4 t5, I also have an 89-MR-2 T-bar, mk 1 and a GSR750.
  9. I'm on my 4th IS, I love them, I did look at the diesel. Was warned of the cylinder issue, BUT was told IF it's been repaired then it should give lots of travel free miles, I opted out, but purely the fact that there is NO further diesel unit from Lexus, my previous IS 250 was auto and that averaged between 24mpg to 41 at best on a run, the manuals are even better, so I imagine if your looking to the diesel, then a manual petrol would be an option.
  10. Looks good, welcome to "Lexus ownership" They truly are the dogs @@@@@@@@ 😊
  11. Try eBay, there's a company that recondition the units, there based in Brentwood Essex, on the doddinghurst area, very helpful, charged me £60 to recon my unit for my IS250, main dealer quoted £2k to replace, they do do postal too, Hope this helps
  12. Sounds good to me, mine, as far as I'm aware is standard, looking like it's going to be a good afternoon
  13. Cheers Stu, ..... Roll on Sunday 👍😊
  14. Sound lovely, only thing that worries me about changing mine, is I've read a few people's woes of "droaning". As I'm not getting any younger n love the drive I'm a little worried it would be something I'd regret, looking forward to Sunday to speak in person to those that have......
  15. Just looked up H&S, are they in Basildon? If so, I'm only 5 miles away, may look into one too, looking forward to the meet, IF I can make it, trying to reshuffle things
  16. Hi, it could be a tyre, had similar n it turned out to be an egg shaped tyre, if not, get the fluids checked, I've had 2 previous IS's, both with full main dealer history, BUT both had never had gearbox fluid changes, 2nd one had to have 2 changes within 3months to flush out between the plates (auto) if memory serves me correctly, it's at the back of the bulkhead, should be red in colour. (Gearbox). Think diff is harder to check, Hope this helps, Paul
  17. Have placed my date, only one I can't make is the 6th, it's the air ambulance run to harwich, be good to see some more IS-F's, would be a great photo opportunity too.......may have to rethink harwich if it's the 6th
  18. Cheers Stu, all sorted now
  19. Stu, Is there any chance for those that are not good on computers getting info on this thread? I'm terrible with technology, but would love a meet up, even after saying "I'll never go to bluewater".....I'd happily make an exception, as long as there's no shopping involved.
  20. After over 3000 miles across Europe, not one IS-F spotted,.....the only one being the one on my drive when getting home.
  21. Cat-D's CANT be removed anymore, way back, about 20yrs they could be removed with a rigerous inspection, but not any longer, so I'd be very cautious if I where you
  22. Having driven to Spain, I've passed through France, Paris too and I've not seen 1 IS-F. Any ideas on how many are in Europe?? Will look again on my return leg.
  23. I like it, I also think there is a line for people not to cross, having said that, I can't see anyone crossing that line with an F. 👍
  24. Sorry, bought mine in May this yr
  25. I paid £20,500 for my 58-plate, with full Lexus history, mine had 49500miles, BUT the 60k service has NOT been done. It's 7yrs in October, but mine had just had new discs n pad all round, it owed Lexus just over £21k, I used the service to barter a deal.
