  1. As David said, ALL the colours are a good choice by Lexus, holdout for the colour u want, it's the main thing of the car, uv got to look back n smile, or ur look back n think, "yeah I like it, but wise I'd got it in ............
  2. £140 for 5lts of oil for an F, I can't honestly see the old bill using it, I dare say it's been serviced regularly, oil is better than no oil, but can only imagine them using a fully synthetic one across the board for ALL their vehicles, I'd be VERY VERY WAREY with this, OR ANY high performance x old bill car
  3. Just looked at the Autotrader one, think that maybe the police one re advertised without that info, I'd do my research on this particular one first,......like they say "u get wot u pay for"......if it's cheap, it's cheap for a reason
  4. Can't speak of personal experience, only that a fellow 40ish friend of mine father has the VXR8, he's been in both that and my ISF, he's opinion is that he'd have the F all day long over the VXR8,.....but think if I where u I drive both, then there's no thinking "what if"....good luck with your demons 😉
  5. Got to be the F I'm afraid, had an is200, is300, is250 n now own an F, other than servicing I've never spent a penny on repairs, absolutely love my F to the point of saying, I don't think I'll ever sell it, BUT drive them both, think ur find the build quality of the Lexus will sway u from the Vauxhall, they are fantastic cars, hardest part is getting out of it, u just want to keep driving, mine averages 19/22 town, and 29/32 on a run, had as good as 35 (once) lol 👍
  6. I know where ur coming from, got a Yaris SR for my daily commute, BUT look forward to the weekends n the F comes to life 👍
  7. Could be a massive bargaining tool tho, there still only worth X amount, so maybe there's a deal to be had, if u don't ask, your never know
  8. If it's off it G plate then all duties would have already been paid, can only go on 08/58 uk plate once this has been done, if like Jersey, a width tax was payable, but as now a uk car it doesn't come under CO emissions law, BUT it's not an import, log book states "uk car non mainland" so insurance is NOT import premium.
  9. IF the Guersey one was registered there new, then I can assure u the road tax is £230 per year, mine was a channel island car, mine was bought here on mainland, not sure wot coats are involved in shipping here n registering, but I look as it as a plus when selling, (not that I plan to) I for one can't bear the thought on paying £505 for road tax, but most divorcees would probably be the same. Lol
  10. They do say "u get wot u pay for".....if it's that cheap, there's a reason. Agree with Stu on the fact that the winter n Christmas are coming, some dealers will want or need to move stock on, as at this time of year we all need money,......quite happy the sell any of our 4 kids,.....but the F is staying 😂
  11. Welcome, I to had the IS-250 prior to the F.........you won't regret it one bit
  12. He got it up on the ramps, got his colleague to start it from cold so he could hear it better, said it's definitely a very small blown hole from the underside of one of the manifold pipes, said it quietens down fast as they run very hot, very quickly, so I'll keep u posted incase theirs other with the same issue
  13. I can't honestly answer that one, I can't EVER see me selling mine, had an infatuation with them since there release date, I'm quite lucky really, the wife has a RAV4, n I've I picked up my Yaris SR at the weekend for my daily commute to work, all Japs here, can't see me buying anything else than japs, although I'm rather partial to an Aston,......but then there's the wife 😳....😂
  14. Had it done at C.H Motors, he's my brother in laws best friend, will only use genuine parts, he bought the service parts from Lexus, has all the up to date diagnostic equipment, I trust him 100%,.....he even advised me mine has a very small hole in one of the manifold pipes, can be heard on start up for about 10sec, Lexus told me this noise is normal 😳, He laughed n said that's total @@@@@@@@ so I will be booking it in under warranty to be sorted, then back to him to be assured it has been......
  15. It's a shame tho, as the Indy specialists do a far better job and at far better cost
  16. An update for those in 2 minds, having picked up my Yaris yesterday, (Toyota mIndealer) the salesman has an Aston Martin, when asking him the question of service, he replied, his doesn't go to Aston Martin for its service due to cost,.....he refuses to pay there labour costs, but did buy the service kit, (genuine parts).....as did I for the F,....so it really is down to personal preference, and like he said, if genuine parts are used there's no difference, it's all about how people view the stamp.
  17. After much deliberation I opted for an Indy service, actually my brother in laws best friend, ALL genuine Lexus parts, ALL 8 plugs, last 2 plugs take around 2 to 3 hrs to do, the cost was £450, book stamped, albeit NOT Lexus, BUT I know that my car has had ALL that the 60k service requires.
  18. I run an IS-F, it's just had its 60k service, Lexus wanted £895 for it, my brother in laws best friend is a mechanic, who does all ford, bmw and other main dealers cars that they can't do, but the unaware customer is paying main dealer prices for, my F has just cost me £450 and YES all 8 plugs done, at the end of the day it's a stamp, BUT me personally I'd rather know that what's been done has been done, not paid for and skipped over, wether the next owner believes me or not, maybe an issue, that bridge will be crossed when that time comes, BUT for me, I know it's been done properly and by someone I trust FULLY
  19. Good luck to u Stu, looks a stunning car, hope it brings a smile to your face like the F did
  20. Although NOT the F, the wife's RAV4 has just been mot'd, fsh with Toyota, bought by us in Jan 15, mot revealed NO brake fluid cap on reservoir n a missing breather pipe on the water reservoir, thanks for your attention to detail Toyota/Lexus Southend, don't think we'll be back anytime soon 😤
  21. I passed through last weekend, so if u saw a red one it may have been me
  22. 669 mile round trip this weekend, I managed 29.9mpg, which I'm happy with 👍
  23. Best I've had is 35mpg, but the norm is tank average of around 19.8 mpg, BUT I don't tend to do many runs in mine, I'll do a London run about once in 2 weeks, other than that it's only local runs, London run will get her to about 22 mpg, I also had as low as 5.9 mpg
  24. Nice, very nice, hope u enjoy it as much
  25. I sold private, got £1750 more than px price offered, if it was a couple of hundred I'd probably px, but nearly 2k is a lot of difference
