  1. If u read my reply you’d be able to read that I stated “I don’t know where extended warranties are concerned”….. I also said that they’re crap when compared to the manufacturers warranty…… so maybe u should try reading before replying 🤦🏼‍♂️
  2. Wrong, monopoly of “having” to use main-dealers is no longer, if u ask them they will answer reluctantly……it’s not something they will offer BUT it is definitely the case……. Especially with Audi, Lexus, Toyota……. Stipulation is “genuine parts and reputable garage that’s VAT registered”
  3. Mines now out of warranty BUT the big service was done by my Indy specialist whilst under warranty, all genuine Lexus parts and VAT registration the warranty company have to allow any claim, I’d go for the plugs to keep the warranty BUT I’d be using a Lexus specialist which is half the labour cost.
  4. Well the issue should be resolved on Sunday, opted for another car for the dogs, kayaks n Spanish jaunts @Flytvr you’ll be pleased to know I’m back in Volvo 😂……. V50 BUT with the 2.4 auto petrol unit, couldn’t stand the idea of more agg with a Ford engine 😉……so the F remains.
  5. I love my dogs, they’re my best friends, the wife, well………. Not much more I can say 😂……. Actually she’s ok, like she says it’s my money.
  6. Restarting second time round is hard enough (not my doing)….. definitely not doing that again 😳…… I’d sooner live my days out at HMP services 😉
  7. Would have to be petrol, don’t think I’d go down the diesel route with where we live and the future of diesels, definitely something they want off the roads……. Lots to discuss with the other half when she home from working away
  8. Probably the W204 Dav…..BUT theft is a major concern, up until recently-ish as u know I always had a Volvo alongside the F, think they’re beyond my reach financially….. don’t like spending what I don’t have.
  9. Rob, I have contemplated the above, not sure if I sold I’d get a fast estate, did consider a C63…… thinking more like a RAV4 or NX300…… BUT now thinking about changing out the rear seat n door cards so the dogs can’t ruin it 🤔
  10. Can’t bring myself to finance cars, I’ve a fairly hefty mortgage now, lost the father in law last November, we had to buy both my brother in laws out of his Spanish property as the wife isn’t ready to let it go……. BUT I refused to extend our mortgage term so obviously the cost has gone up a fair bit.
  11. It’s an insignia estate, spent over £2500 and been told it’s needs an engine, runs ok, uses a fair bit of oil, looks like it’s going into the inlet chamber, can’t trust it to Spain with the dogs in it, needs to be something I can trust
  12. Tbh the car has been to Spain and averaged 35mpg over the 2600 mile trip, my biggest concern is the dogs on the back seat, even if covered their claws will probably scuff the leather especially on the door cards, a roof rack wouldn’t bother me particularly BUT loading the kayaks on n off always has the chance of damage, they’re both 15ft long and weight about 25kg each. My biggest hate is door dinks from car parks, when going and parking at locks etc the car parks and approach roads are not the best, a lot of the time is grass verge parking too, I’ve either got to accept it’ll get damaged and tired OR let someone else enjoy her…… and get a car that I won’t be so finicky about
  13. Evening fellow F ers, apologies for a long text BUT I need advice on my head numbing predicament, right, I’ve had my ISF seven years and hasn’t been a daily driver, I’ve always had a daily BUT I’ve now been relocated to central London and train it, I’ve a daily estate and the dogs get thrown in it along with everything else, the daily is basically knackered and repairs are more than it’s worth, my problem is this was for the dogs, trips to Spain and throwing our kayaks on, the issue I need advice on is what to do? do I get a roof rack for the ISF, allow 2 dogs in it regularly and use it as a whenever and wherever car? it’s immaculate! 😢 and my only other option is to sell and buy a “one car fits all”…….. the wife’s car isn’t big enough and she doesn’t particularly want to change hers, I don’t really either as we’ve had it for a few years and it’s been 100% perfect. at present I have 2 cars sat idle on the drive, I was going to buy another estate car BUT the wife is moaning about the costs of running two houses, three cars and a motorcycle…… I’m starting to get the two cars going nowhere though. cheers Paul
  14. If u go GSF Lexus will not fit them, they’re funny about ISF - GSF parts and what goes with what, u will also need the heat shields are they have different locating holes, not sure about brake fluid mine has always been serviced by my local specialist
  15. Flanges are supposed to be loose, the welded branches are where the design flaw is, there is no flexibility on the welded ones, from memory I think the flange/weld are arse about face which is the design flaw, the stress on the welds is the issue, I had mine changed as the only real answer is to tig weld and a pyramid style of about 3 layers, the labour is the biggest expense hence why I changed mine over to the GSF ones, the branches are bigger/bigger bore and the design has been rectified…… mine went at 49k and has never been tracked and only the odd spirited drive……. I think they rectified the design when things were updated during the ISF build….. BUT they are about £800-ish a side from lexus.
  16. Best colour by far 👍🏻😉
  17. Yes, you can look at build years and colours sold, I think from memory, Red, white, blue, grey, silver n black, think that was rarity in colour, I think it’s nearly twice as many whites to red, 33 rings a bell and late 30’s for blue….. blue also wasn’t a colour option here in 2008, think late 2009 it became an option
  18. Best colour too 👍🏻…… even rarer being one of only 17 sold in the U.K…… there’s less than that now too…… enjoy 👏🏻👏🏻
  19. That voice sounds familiar 😂…… it’s my wife
  20. I had the GSF manifolds fitted, Lexus won’t do this, the ISF has a design flaw, I’m not sure if welding would work long time, labour is 10 hours to change as subframe down for access, I’ll have the parts numbers in my paperwork as I had a new O2 sensor as one was jammed in, gasket are the same ISF, GSF, RCF…… if going for GSF u will need the heat shields to as they are different, mine was cracked completely in circumference BUT ticked on cold start up, cold acceleration BUT when fully warm was fine, the acceleration is massively noticeable when changed, especially the GSF as bore size is bigger……. From memory mine cost £1200 to change BUT I had the GSF manifolds, these are about £900-ish a side from memory
  21. One of my all time favs!……. The ONLY contender as a replacement, I’ll be looking forward to updates as my only concern was a reliability one, a mates has the tourismo, he’s had a couple, first wasn’t good BUT spent nothing on the second, so to go back for a second one must say something, enjoy n keep me updated please 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  22. Mines on 71k, covered about 400 miles since September last year 🤦🏼‍♂️…… had the front completely repainted (stone chips) and a 5yr ceramic coating done too, I love it BUT with two dogs n kayaking most weekends it just sits there…… and on top of that I’m being relocated into central London so two cars will sit there doing nothing 🙄…… probably time to move on and yet “one car fits all” 😢
  23. That is a very good price, there was ONLY 17 when new, think the figures are around 10 now, Thinking about selling mine BUT that price wouldn’t buy mine n mines on a 58…….BUT also totally immaculate.
  24. Not sure if this is of any use where Lexus GB is concerned
