No ISF...so I bought this instead!

I know very little about them tbh, I was led to believe the 2.5 is harder and more costly to modify, but was led to believe once head gaskets are done they’re pretty much bulletproof, they only kept the 2.5 in the outback as it isn’t the car of mods, the gaskets always have oil laying in them, hence they rot, the updated ones are a 5 ply steel gasket, any oil smell will probably be the gaskets, done immediately will save the cost of head skimming and other associated issues, change the oil twice as often as recommended, I’ve spent to much on ours to warrant changing as it does what we need it to do, they are good fun in the snow and mud, also maybe worth investing in a obd2 reader as the engine light comes on when symmetrical drive goes out of sync, enjoy it 👍👍 -

Congratulations, the wife has a Subaru Outback, although a nice car it definitely isn’t an F experience, having had both heads done I’ve been assured it’ll outlive me, so fingers crossed yours has been done 🤞🏻......any oil smell is the start, not visible as it drops on the exhaust, but this is the cheap time to rectify, although anything but cheap.......five garages and no agreeable diagnostic, so make sure u trust the garage that’ll be looking after it. 👍 -
Insurance for the F

I’m with Esure and pay £301 a year with 12,000 miles, I do about 3500 a year but the saving on reducing miles was minimal. Never had to claim, I argue at every renewal about premium increase as I’ve not claimed etc, etc.....so increase is normally negotiable too. Paul -
I love the Lexus brand and it’s reliability and I’m on my 4th Lexus, the RX isn’t something that I find pleasing to the eye, I do like the “new RX” but I don’t do finance or rentals 😔......I’ve always owned my cars, can’t justify a mortgage payment on one, I’ve considered all of them BUT always fancied a RR and my uncle is on his 5th Land Rover/Range Rover and wouldn’t have anything else, head says one thing, heart says another 😳

Millage isn’t an issue, me personally I’d be happier with a good Indy history with higher milers as I don’t trust maindealers, irrespective of brand.....I’d definitely check the gearbox oil as both my IS200 and IS300 hadn’t been done, both with full documented Lexus history.......sorry but I know who I trust and who I don’t

Driving in traffic / Waiting at lights

Thanks, she’s ok just shaken up by it all, the one that was repeatedly punching in the screen has apologised and said he’ll pay for all damages which is looking at around £500, new screen (heated), dent in door and a full valet as there’s blood all over the side windows, doors and inside the car to, also glass throughout the car, he thought the car was picking up the addict (which happened to be his brother) to get him away from them, he didn’t realise it was my wife n youngest and they were just driving home from a “pamper evening” of all things 🙄 -

I was told by a gearbox specialist to leave in D unless your going to be sometime, ie if lights are red on approach leave it be, if u pull up due to lights changing use N, I never select P as it unlocks the doors, I’ll try to put up a photo of the wife’s car from this Saturday which doesn’t lock and someone jumped into it to get away from others.....this is the result, hence she’s now learnt to lock the doors 🙄 -

Don’t u mean “Race Mode”? 😂🤣😂 -
Believe it or not, that’s Health and Safety gone mad 🤪......the old boys used to come in weekends to restore them (retired)....H&S stated they had to payout for track certifications to be able to work on them, they haven’t been worked on for over 5 years 😳

Blew the cobb Webb’s off and out the old girl for work, shaved 25min off the normal commute time......hence was in stupid early 🙄

Ecu shut down does exist, it definitely exist on Range Rover as a friend of a friend came to realise when he couldn’t afford the repayments, they disabled his car on his drive, simple, pay or well collect it......technology exists in most areas like bank fraud, the cost to implement it are more expensive than the cost of covering the individual loss, all comes down to money, companies are profit driven, you I and everyone else are irrelevant on a “personal level”.......also wonder if the cabbie offered his services.........obviously at a price 😳 -
Lol, my wife has ginger hair, she said people wouldn’t see where she stopped n the car started 😂🤣.......love the orange 👍👍

Got confused after “first off” 😳.....never had a Porsche, always been something about them I liked......BUT the reliability of the engine is something that I find “TOTALLY” unacceptable, a car of this heritage should never suffer this fate, Porsche should surely replace the engine with one without the design flaws that this one has 🤔.......personally I’d be scared to use it, once warranties are unavailable you will need hugely deep pockets to own one......such a shame

Cracked Manifold
Womble72 replied to Jgtcracer's topic in Lexus F Club - Lexus IS-F / GS-F / RC-F Club
My IS250 se-l had a ticking noise, went in for investigation and turned out to be the injectors pumping fuel, my F has always had the same tick from start up, was given a full bill of clean health when last at Lexus Woodford, I assumed it was the fuel injectors, has been the same for the three years of my ownership, can’t be the manifold as Lexus would have tried to get me to replace it for a cost.......of course 🙄.......must be a noticeable difference with engine note, my old accord had a cracked manifold branch and that was MASSIVELY noticeable 😂🤣👍
