  1. Will do, Gumtree too, obviously a novice that hasn’t a clue how hard this will be to move.
  2. Guys, can I ask you to keep an ear out for a friends GSF carbon rear diffuser that has been stolen off his car, there’s only about 70 GSF’s in the UK and obviously a very limited market for one of these, please let me know if anyone hears or gets offered the part. cheers Paul
  3. I think as time goes on the parting gets harder, I’m sure after a 48hr test drive in a corvette or an AMG I think the RCF will stay, I’ve had my ISF coming up 5years and there isn’t particularly anything I’d like to replace it with, my obvious choice is the GSF but the shape isn’t for me personally....(the only colour would be orange flare too)......for the boredom factor I run a second car that I tend to change fairly often.
  4. I’ve a mate (not on the forum) who has changed his rear boxes for a Tomms one, only back boxes though. He has a FB page and his car and others throughout Europe are on their with different mod ideas. “Lexus F/fsport secret society uk and Japan”.......he himself is Japanese so there’s a fair bit of Japanese input too.
  5. Absolutely love it, looks fantastic n just how I’d imagine it to look, very tastefully done 👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻
  6. Evening David, all good here hope your all good too, i know it’s a personal preference and on a personal side I’ve had both an IS200 and then an IS300 both with full Lexus history and both hadn’t been serviced to Lexus requirements, both had never had the gearbox oils changed, the IS200 serviced in the West Country (where it was from) and the other from the Manchester area again from where it was from, my F had full Lexus history and I fell for the sales “they all sound like that” which I know they don’t thanks to this site and a few meets, my F had a cracked manifold, was bought like it and when the Indy told me about the manifolds it was out of warranty, I approach Lexus (heard nothing to date) but from what I’m led to believe the garage would have had to swallow the cost as it was like it prior to selling hence the story of “they all sound like that”......the ISF has a weak spot on manifolds and replacements are around £1800 to supply only, 7hrs book time on top to install. Ive got a pair of GSF manifolds to be installed but Lexus refuse to quote as “they’re not ISF ones”.....head is identical fixing layout and shape using the same gasket set BUT possibly flange connection may differ, I honestly can’t get an answer on that one, been quoted £900 to install by my local Indy which it will be getting booked into to done once our bedroom is finished (bloody wives) 🙄. Obviously i’m not a fan of main dealers and any dealings I have had with them have fallen far short on knowledge, principles and pride. If I was looking at a car with “specialist history” to me that’ll be worth more than a main dealer stamp (obviously making sure the history is correct) and the garage is a specialist and all checks out ok. Ryo is trying to sort out a mini meeting before Christmas and in the spring a weekend at Nurburgring for a six hour race and then a couple of laps in our own cars in your up for it, it isn’t a hell for leather drive more a steady run of fun 👍🏻
  7. What I’m miffed about is the fact that u can buy new, service at Indy specialist obviously with genuine parts BUT after 3 years old the warranty company (the same company) then insist on the car being serviced by the manufacturer despite the 3 previous years not being done by the manufacturer but the warranty is still valid until that point.
  8. Love it!......every bit as good as I imagined, very subtle BUT very nice, perfect balance in my opinion 👍🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻
  9. My brother in laws best friend is affiliated with Ford and BMW, he is on the list for advancement/replacement of parts, he also repairs both marcs that a customer would imagine have been repaired by the main dealer, problem is today with mechanics, dealers pay is atrocious and their mainly “oil service technicians”. The dealer may see more specialist cars leave their showrooms but the service department isn’t the same place as the showroom, an affiliated Indy will have all the latest information and software equipment to remain affiliated to the brand.......any other Indy is just that, an independent garage and definitely not an Indy specialist. I had two major service items missed on two different Lexus and two different main dealers. I’m of the option they think when if fails it’ll be them you turn to for a huge repair bill, no way of providing the item wasn’t serviced after the fact.......main dealer servicing is a personal preference and had I not had the previous two issues on separate cars maybe my opinion would be different.....I had my F pulled apart on its first specialist service so I know now everything is done and done properly......buts obviously that’s just me. 😉
  10. I am amazed tbh, u can buy a brand new Lexus, service it from day one (which is 40/50% cheaper than Lexus)....for 3 years and warranty can’t be voided providing “genuine Lexus” parts are used BUT for an extended warranty u “have” to use Lexus at 40/50% more expensive to keep a non manufacturing warranty void?.....I’m not saying it isn’t the case and they do say as cars get older they cost you more. 😂😂.....didn’t see it being by main-dealer servicing though 😂
  11. My last service bill from my local Lexus specialist who I’ve used for the last 15yrs.....”full service” trust them 100%
  12. I didn’t realise the extended warranty wasn’t with Lexus, to me the extended warranty would be a waste of money then, the only warranty that’s worth anything is the main dealers one. That probably explains about the gearbox issue and non replacement that led to a member selling their F as Lexus wouldn’t replace it under warranty (extended warranty package).....a new car remains under warranty even if not serviced by the manufacturer, that monopoly was toppled a long time ago, even the manufacturers would confirm this, they don’t like it but they can’t lie about it either. The only stipulation is that genuine manufacturers parts are used.
  13. Sorry but it doesn’t, Lexus will insist on a “health check” first and if they’re happy with the Indy garage and if they’re known to them like “Westfields” they will provide cover, I was offered extended warranty on my recall after they did a “health check” free of charge that I didn’t ask for, car was given 100% clean bill of health, I don’t think Halfords would fall into this category 😂😂
  14. I’ve had my ISF for 5 years and saved myself around £1600 in warranty costs and a further £1000 plus in service costs.....to me these cars are bulletproof to the everyday driver, now if I were to track my car then that’ll be a different answer BUT there is probably a clause on this scenario too 😂😂
  15. What people seam to forget is that £130 ph price tag pays for the shinny showroom, the mechanic is probably on about £15ph. Is he bothered about your car 🤔......he gets £15ph if he works on it or doesn’t!.....not much of an incentive really. Your pride n joy won’t be theirs!
  16. Westfield motors in Rawreth, when quizzed by Woodford Lexus where i had it serviced on the airbag recall their response was, “ok, fair enough”.....think their hourly rate is £60 or £65 ph.
  17. I’m the opposite, I prefer a specialist history compared to main dealer, u can still get Lexus warranty with specialist history, they do ask to do a basic health check. So if the specialist has used genuine parts they will offer the warranty!....only thing Lexus won’t do is retail the car on their forecourt. I use a specialist on mine, always have n always will, my previous Lexus (from new) never saw the inside of a Lexus dealership, I saved a small fortune and still sold privately for £2250 more than Lexus part exchange price against my F. I’ve had four Lexus to date, two with full “Lexus” history AND both with service items NOT being done by “Lexus”.....two completely different dealer too. My F had full history but on “my” first service I ask the specialist to go over everything as I don’t trust main dealers and definitely wouldn’t buy a car because it had “main dealer history”.........specialist require repetition of customers and reputation is everything. so it’s a specialist for me AND from me 👍🏻
  18. I used a company in Basildon called “Pipe Craft”.......the tails would be circular and that’s why I kept the fake tips, Hayward and Scott also in Basildon will make them oval like the originals. Honestly don’t know what they would cost though.
  19. A pair of stainless steel ones will cost around £400. The tips are around that alone from Lexus, I had a cat back SS system made BUT I kept the original tips on the car.
  20. He has always said comfort and smoothness is second to none but in his opinion the ISF is more fun. He says the electronically aspect of the GSF has taken the edge off it being as much fun. I can’t say myself as I’ve not driven a GSF, as much as I love my ISF my C70 is a more comfortable journey.
  21. I’ve a mate who’s has both ISF and GSF. He says advancements in GSF over ISF is noticeable on every aspect BUT says the ISF is the better car to drive and get feedback, he’s always said GSF feels like someone is overriding all decisions. Think a 48hr test drive is a must when parting with the ISF
  22. There is a slight drone at about 1600rpm, it does get quieter the more miles that are covered. Not sure about the noise levels for comparisons. Mine is liveable on a daily basis
