  1. No chance with a trickle charge, they’re designed to maintain the charge that the battery has, chances are it just needs a FULL mains charge with a suitable charger, the battery should be fine just extremely flat.....I honestly don’t think a new battery is required, an expense that’s probably avoidable......🤞🏻They respect the man and the reasons behind what’s required. Hope all goes well
  2. Dav, there will be a cranking amp on the jumper box, same in battery chargers, I purchased a battery for a 5ltr car, I’d be surprised if it’s built for the job in hand. can you not charge in situ? i charge mine yearly for 12hrs in situ as it helps to preserve the battery. 🤞🏻
  3. Dav, correct, .......it also always needs petrol every time I use it too 🤔......I know actually refuse to use it on this principle 😉
  4. The misses has a hybrid it’s called a balanced lifestyle 😉...and it does wheel spin 😉
  5. Did purchase from Lexus Coventry but no longer under warranty, definitely worth getting looked at, probably a door seal 🤞🏻
  6. Something is obviously wrong, mine sits on the drive for weeks at a time, used it earlier this week for a couple of days and no issues whatsoever, sounds like a seal is not sealing properly, only time any condensation should be present is after a drive and there are two different temperatures inside and obviously outside, if condensation is apparent then something needs addressing......is a window down by a couple of mm?.....this is literally all it takes to cause an issue.
  7. Fingers crossed mate.......think the whole warranty “you pay first” is all wrong 😡
  8. Lol. I thought I was going mad 😂.....car seat?.....I’d love to see mine get in one.....ones 18 n other is 21 😂😂.....it was them that stopped me having one earlier on in life! 😂😂😂.......MOT’ers really want to do the bare minimum 🙄
  9. That’s a strange one, mine self locks but will only open when put in “P” or I unlock it on the door card, are all your windows working ok/drivers control/individually?......I know these need a sort of coding/synchronising from drivers door if battery is changed......possibly something similar
  10. Didn’t see any of the above on the history of that car?......only tyre wear 🤔......I’m confused 😂😂.....which isn’t hard 😂😂
  11. I remember that car well, Mark too and his GSF, lovely bloke and well wishes being sent.......I have also heard from a Japanese friend that they reckon the next five years will see the ISF gain in value, they estimate around 50 UK cars will become collectible......the future is likely to be the same as history (ie the mark I escort) not the best escort produced but the one everyone wishes they kept 😉......time will tell but prices don’t seem to budge much on a good example in the five years ownership I’ve had with mine.
  12. Only what’s on the MOT history, no failures and only one advisory for worn tyres on inner edge, would imagine it’s been looked after well.
  13. I’d be very surprised that an ISF would be stolen to order, they’re to old to be of interest and do not have collectors statues, I’d assume this is a personal issue rather than an order theft, no recovery or burnt out shell? 🤔.......think there’s probably more to this story. Although personally I think this is the lowest u can go, issues should be addressed one on one, not personal items or family involvement
  14. 47 now, had mine 5yrs, always wanted one from launch in 2008, kids and an expensive wife at that time stopped me from having one! 😂.....having had 75 cars in my time my most expensive to insure was my M3 when I was mid 20’s and the wife 23......Lexus is the only car I’ve had 4 of, IS200, IS300 aero-tec, IS250-sel and the F.......after my divorce I also treated myself to a Kawasaki Z1000-sx.......my money is finally my money 😂😂......even the current Mrs H leaves to my own devices 😉
  15. I would ascertain that the car has a full history of maintenance wether a yearly one or mileage one, I think we need to be realistic in the fact that they are up to 12 yrs old now and main-dealers money isn’t justifiable or needed if a good “proven” Indy is around, my 60k service cost £475 as a pose to £895 at Lexus, £400 increase in labour 😳........People will pay £18k for a secondhand Ford today 🤔.....is a ford service history really worth anything? 😂......by rule of thumb, if the owner comes across as genuine then the car should be........either that or I’m to trusting in people 😂😂
  16. When u say lack of FSH are you talking about a yearly service or no service evidence?........a service every other year if millage is 7-8-9000 over two years is justifiable to me personally, I’d rather that than a yearly one but car having covered 12-15000 miles yearly.......the oil (if correct oil used) is good for 20,000 mile service intervals or every other year servicing on lower mileage cars, personally I’d never run a car for 20k without servicing but oil manufacturers say they can 🤔......I’m a strong believer in a cars to be enjoyed by the owner and you can usually gauge if the person has looked after it.......mine for instance is serviced every other year but covers about 3-3500 a year so 7k in two years. This is where I think private purchase outweighs dealer purchase as you get a feeling for the car around the owner.
  17. The car is back, feels livelier, quieter in cabin, no ticking on cold start up, no ticking while driving from cold (could hear ticking in normal driving when cold 2-2500rpm) inside cabin, Bill is attached along with parts required and a couple of photos of the old units, they reckon the formation should of been....weld, flange, weld, flange......as weld, flange, flange, weld has put excessive stress on last branch, would be interesting to know if Lexus altered the weld, flange set up on the latter cars as the issue seems to mainly affect early ones, £1200 poorer but a happier poorer now its purring
  18. Spoke to @Big Ratthe other day, will try to get down and hopefully @Warrington guy will too, is pencilled in diary 🤞🏻
  19. Hi David, thanks, I’m looking forward to collecting tomorrow morning, I’m looking forward to the cold start up and no ticking 🤞🏻😂......power “should” feel better as I’m led to believe the manifold was well n truly knackered 🙄.......the GSFs are an improved manifold in design and materials used, obviously the same manifold that’s on the RCF, the bore size is larger so better exhaust flow should see an improvement, Ryo reckons possibly 440-450 as the GSF are 470, I also had a cat back exhaust made with resonator removal so that to should see a small improvement too, tbh I’d be happy with a cold start up and no ticking 🤞🏻😂😂
  20. Update @ 17:55, just had a call from Westfield motors, car is done, final bill is £1179:55, bill includes all parts, fabrication required at exhaust connector, dip stick removal, fabrication and relocation, new O2 sensor and gasket set, geometry testing of car.......damn that VAT 😂......always manages to ruin a decent figure 🙄
  21. As far as I’m aware that’s a no BUT if u find out anything different I’d be interested, I’m led to believe the loom is different for the later system so it would require a complete new loom (not cheap) and not done to my knowledge. good luck with your search n any update would be appreciated
  22. I don’t think there is a software update for the early ones, there is a map update BUT that won’t give full postal codes on the system, the early ones won’t even allow a contacts install from an iPhone 🙄.......can only input manually, I normally use my phone or garmin as navigation unless I’ve the full postcode.......obviously the in-house system doesn’t provide live updates either 😔
  23. It is I suppose BUT on the other hand I don’t know what it going to cost yet 😂😂
  24. EARLY update, just spoken to Westfield motors (Ian) GSF manifolds are on, straight forward swap despite formation difference, everything lines up, my manifold was cracked around and only held in position by the three that weren’t!....only alteration is the oil dip stick tube fails the manifold and is at present removed and being reshaped to clear the manifold, the heat shields are totally different as so if anyone was to proceed down the GSF manifold route you would need a set of these, thankfully mine came with them......car should be up and running today with a geometry test required as the sub frame had to be removed for access, biggest concern was the steering rack BUT they have cleared the rack as formation is identical once the branches join pipe to exhaust, just a new O2 sensor (jammed in) and a couple of gaskets and it’s a goer 🤞🏻🤞🏻
