I need a tow bar for my 2012 rx450h.  Before shelling out for a brand new one, I've been searching for a 2nd hand one, but without success.

Does anybody happen to have one that they don't need, or know of one in a breakers yard?

Have a look on eBay, there’s one for £250 BUT I’ve just been offered it for £200 BUT I don’t have a RX yet 😢. The one I traveled for 3 hours today was miss advertised 😢……. About £80 on train down the drain.

  3. Morning all,

im looking at an RX450h tomorrow, I’ve been in Lexus cars for about the last 20 years, sold my ISF a couple of months ago BUT miss the quality of the cars, I’ve opted for the 2013 MY RX as my only car, we’ve two dogs (kids off hand) but want a nice place to be for our twice yearly jaunts to Spain. Train for work but Norfolk n the lakes are often taken (family)……. What would be a realistic MPG for 1300 mile non stop journey? Did this in my ISF and got 35mpg, currently doing it in a V50 2.4i and get 34.8mpg, we don’t drive faster than the roads so normally sit around 70-80mph…….. most research is in US figures,

    thank you

    Paul

I know it wasn't easy watching it go Paul! Rest assured I'll take good care of her.

As you'd expect its driven flawlessly ever since. That red really turns into a different colour when the sun's out, can't look out the kitchen window without cracking a smile!

    All the best!

Thanks for the update Callum, keep them coming too……… lm happier knowing she’s with someone who will look after her as well,

    all the best

A small update on replacing the Yaris, it would appear our wonderful Government have decided to screw you by placing a £145 road tax on the new Yaris models. We immediately decided sod that so we will run our current Yaris for as long as we can. No point replacing something that is working fine.

My sentiments exactly!……. I’ll be putting a new hybrid system in before it gets changed 😂…… and at 98k it’s running like it always has. 👍🏻

SRD did RR racing supercharger upgrade to @Peter P18 ISF, so they have a good reputation - his build threads are all on here.

Westfield also have a good reputation and @Womble72 has uses them for servicing for years.

From memory my manifolds cost £600 plus vat in labour, I supplied GSF manifolds, had to have a new O2 sensor, service and a couple of gaskets, I’m sure it was £1200 all inclusive

  7. I think the road tax of 2017 was to stop the amount of VED free cars being sold and not paying tax (the wife has a 2015 Auris hybrid and it’s £0 VED)…… at 98k she’s running fine and will continue until she’s completely knackered)……. Over 80% of cars are HP or PCP purchases and keep the car industry turning over, the stealth tax was aimed at reducing the amount of cars sold in the higher bracket, I honestly think it was a bit of a “give back” to those who actually appreciate cars and own them…… obviously only my opinion

    Thanks for the replies.

The front tyres are standard size and they are like new, they were fitted when I got the car.

If I change the rear to 275s will it make a difference.

    Thanks

I’ve got 275/30/19 on the rears, went up 20mm on fronts too, does feel more grippy from standards.

Fronts are a 35/19 profile to keep Speedo calibration as close as possible

  9. I’ve a couple of school mates that own a tyre shop and they always recommend the Nexen Nfera SU1, I’m not ready for tyres yet BUT it’s coming, my research found they are on Porsche from new, probably not the Mitchelin quality BUT unless the car is tracked or driven like it’s stolen (hard to do either on U.K. roads) I’ve put Nexen on the wife’s car and her mums and my previous cars, never had an issue BUT like u am dubious about putting on the F…….. although I don’t drive silly n just the odd spurt on roads I know……. Any others input would be appreciated

  10. I’ve had my ISF nearly 8 years, my only quibble would be the lack of an estate version, did think about changing to the C63 estate as I have to run two cars as I’ve two dogs and a Spanish retreat…….. the ISF returns 35mpg over the 2800 round trip, my estate is a V50 2.4 5 pot that returns 34.8mpg on the same journey……. There’s a lot of US cars with 200k plus without any form of serious maintenance……. By far the best value for money in the U.K. as prices are not what they are across the pond.

  11. When u say imported, does the car have the Japanese restriction on it?…… these are always hard to price and sell, looking at AT I’d say £19k area BUT selling is different story, finance on cars this age is difficult so u stand a good chance against the forecourt.

what’s the road tax cost?….. some imports tax at pre 2001 rates which will make it more desirable too.

She's a beaut. These Lexus 'kiddies' don't know what they are missing!

Be nice to catch up Paul. Not sure outside of you how many of the original F people are still members....? I was toying with the idea, but, I've been away from home all week and was touring Wales last week - so..... dunno........ There's the washing to do, got to mow the lawns, do some decorating, paperwork, etc etc. Decisons decisions......

Would be good to catch up, I drove back from Spain last Saturday/Sunday and back to work Monday, two airport runs last night with family, 4 hours sleep BUT determined to go tomorrow, if u can …… GREAT……. If not then maybe sort out a Ratty n Dave meet up, been way to long, hopefully see u tomorrow BUT understand if u can’t, take care mate n hopefully see u soon
