  1. Hi guys, still haven't got round to listing my IS250 OEM F Sport Induction kit on eBay. Was only on my car for 6 months, taken off on February when I sold my car (2006 IS250) and purchased an ISF. Thought I would see of anyone was interested here before going to eBay. Looks great and really adds a throughty growl. Purchased from a Lexus main dealer in the US at a cost of £300. Sensible offers considered. Cheers, Mark.
  2. Doesn't surprise me, I wouldn't bother contacting the main dealer for consumables as they're likely to be extortionate. I haven't been impressed with my local dealers knowledge of the ISF and only using them as I want to keep the lexus stamp in the service book. Brakes etc will be done by a trusted and excellent independent mechanic I know.
  3. It really shouldn't be necessary to take out gap insurance but unfortunately most insurance companies will do their best to avoid paying out. I do feel for your situation, I've been in a similar situation with previous cars. If anything they should give generous payouts due to their rarity ;-). For the sake of £120 I took out the gap for peace of mind......... begrudgingly.
  4. Certainly did, thanks Sandy, hoping to getting them fitted in the next couple of weeks. As I've found a complete set, I now have 2 redundant; Continental ContiWinterContact TS810S MO 96V. Brand new tyres purchased from eBay a few weeks ago, which were sold as old stock. These are in the slightly larger sizes which are popular on the here for the ISF. I had been hanging on for the matching set, then Sandy's ready set became available. If anyone's interested in these let me know.
  5. Really interesting review and I have every faith in the feel and quality of the car, for me I just think it's rather clumsy looking up against it's current competitors. I think that's why lexus will struggle with sales. Maybe when the used price has dropped it will be a sound 'good value' purchase for a highly refined, reliable car.
  6. I would like to stick with Lexus after the ISF but the GSF hasn't grown on me just yet. Other than that would have to sacrifice the power for an RX. I would like to keep the ISF for some time but would like the peace of mind of an extended warranty which I assume won't be possible with Lexus once my 2008 reaches its 10th birthday. This might make me upgraded to a newer model or switch.
  7. Thanks for the feedback chaps, think it's definitely worth the switch based on the response. When I purchased my ISF at the end of Feb, it came with the slightly bigger tyres sizes fitted which many have opted for on here. Any thoughts on whether to get winters in these sizes or revert to the factory sizes?
  8. I'm planning to switch my 2008 ISF over to winter tyres in the next few weeks. First time I have considered winters, just wondering the general consensus on winter tyres for this high powered rear wheel drive car? I don't see it as an additional cost as they will extend the life of my summer tyres. Has anyone experienced how effective these will be at giving additional grip on the ISF?
  9. My 08 is more than acceptable in my opinion, no worse than any standard car with low profile tyres. I drove my other half's b class Mercedes with the oem 'sporty' 17" wheels and I found the rise worse than the ISF. This is also coming from someone with serious back issues. I guess it's all subjective but wasn't worth the extra spend when I was buying.
  10. Looks fab Peter, great photos, looks like the photographer has captured the lines perfectly. I have ordered a copy and look forward to the read!
  11. Hi Chris, I've seen the isf on autotrader classed as Melbourne Red, I have to say that it doesn't look at all like the Messa Red, it's more of a cherry red. Take a look, would be interested to hear other opinions on the colour. Maybe it was specially commissioned or perhaps a US colour. I've never seen it before. Colour is a very personal thing, all the colours seem to have appeal. White, grey, silver you could argue are more likely to appeal to the masses but go for the colour you like! Mark
  12. Admiral £650 3 years no claims, plus a load on company car. Wider wheels mod disclosed, couldn't find any better. Did seem to jump up a fair amount this time bit there is a reported increase in insurance generally.
  13. I received a letter a few weeks ago, seems to be much more publicised in the states and many cars not being driven and owners being given long term rentals. I follow 'is350/ISF freaks' and 'F the track' on Facebook and there are daily rants (in the US) about this issue! It appears there is not yet a fix in place so it could be a long wait! The airbag could go off with excess force and throw shrapnel into the cabin. This affects alot of cars, not just Lexus.
  14. Noticed these on amazon, part numbers seem to be correct but haven't looked into them in too much detail, or how they compare to other prices but threw them in my online basket for when the time comes.
  15. @DT_Racing Interested to know if you find the USRS's make the ride any harder during daily driving? @Peter P18 reported the difference was minimal with a huge improvement in the feel, what are your thoughts? Seriously considering these! Thanks..
  16. Thanks for organising Stuart, good to meet everyone today. Let's try for another meet in October... Mark
  17. Looking forward to it!
  18. So sorry to hear about this, horrible experience to go through! Not as though its a run of the mill car, makes it worse if you're passionate about your cars! As already mentioned, can only take heart that no one was hurt. I have cctv and tend to hide away my keys but if these kind of criminals want your car, they will do what's necessary to get it, which is a concern with a young son.
  19. Well done Nick, mixed emotions I'm sure! Funny enough i recently discovered that your ISF originally belonged to my other half's best friends dad, lovely guy, so I can verify it came from a good home! Small world. Good luck with the next purchase, Mark.
  20. My issue was not related to your problems, my suggestion was to try a good independent mechanic, if Lexus fail to resolve the issue.
  21. I had a similar issue a few years back with Audi, 3/4 visits and they couldn't identify the problem. In the end I took it to an experienced independent mechanic and he identified the issue in less than 5 minutes. Just a thought if Lexus can't sort it out. I don't have much faith in main dealer mechanics, would take my ISF to my local mechanic/friend but I appreciate (for resale) the Lexus stamp is important.
  22. I leave mine in the car, perhaps not a good idea after reading this. Nightmare for you, I hope it's put right asap!
  23. @Huutch you can buy a small Bluetooth streaming device from GROM audio (installs behind the nav screen). It will allow you to steam Bluetooth from your phone/plug in ipod etc and change tracks using the steering wheel controls. Available on eBay/Amazon for about £100.
  24. Congratulations @Huutch you've made a great choice with the ISF !
  25. Yes I agree the styling does come across as bland, more clumsy looking than the ISF and RCF. I do agree that the seats and interior look great!
