Its got quite a long crack along it. I don't know of any plastic welders but am sure it can be repaired from the inside. It has 2 chips as well which would also need repairing. As above its in pretty bad shape, but considering the rarity of them it would be worth sorting. I think the guy that bought it (previous owner) paid over £200 for it from the states. I'll dig it out tomorrow and take some pics.

Some good advice above, I remember having to have washers put on the heat shields as well. Another known problem are rear shocks failing, they aren't cheap to replace. I bought mine with coilovers on it (he gave me the factory shocks but the rears were shot). I had the shocks reconditioned by Gaz Shocks (who make coilovers etc but are local to me), fitted them on the car and its like new! The coilovers that were on it were very bumpy for an old git like me!

Hi, havent posted on here for a short while, I have my GS300 SE-L up for sale well well well below your budget and the lower tax bracket! Really is a great example, I bought it from a forum member (came all the way from Ireland to Essex!), it has the ML as well (which sounds great!). Its currently wrapped but happy to remove (black and mint with zero dings or dents underneath, literally not one!). I bought a C63 Mercedes a few months and it hasn't been driven since, just sitting there on a trickle charge and started once a fortnight. Link is here. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162030123455?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1555.l2649 Thanks Chris

Slight Knocking From Rear Suspension (passenger Side)
fozzyf replied to fozzyf's topic in Brakes & Suspension
That could indeed do the trick yes! Since refitting the standard suspension the noise has disappeared, although so has the superb handling somewhat! If anyone wants a 1000mile set of BC Racing height / damper adjustable coilovers (same fitment for IS/GS300/IS220D/IS250/ISF - all GSE20 chassis) I am selling mine for £400 for the set of 4. Thanks -

Replacement Shock Absorbers For 2006 Gs50H - What Options?
fozzyf replied to glawrie's topic in Brakes & Suspension
Well a quick update, I had a call from the suspension company and they have fixed both of my rear shocks! They have rethreaded, resealed etc (whatever they do!) and all ready to go, all for the cost of £70 per shock! Very pleased to say the least! I did ask if they would offer this service to other forum members but they declined saying they did this as a one off, however they did say it wasn't difficult so other suspension companies will be able to do the job. I will be collecting tomorrow and putting them on the car for the new owner (my friend who is buying the car from me!). So if anyone wants any 1000 mile old coilovers all 4 corners will be up for sale after xmas! 36 way damper and fully height adjustable (BC Racing BR Series)- 28 replies

Would that be the mk2 GS perhaps though as the Camry's are a bit older? (mk2 GS shocks are cheapy cheap!). Worth looking into though :)- 28 replies

Replacement Shock Absorbers For 2006 Gs50H - What Options?
fozzyf replied to glawrie's topic in Brakes & Suspension
Nice one on finding the information, i think Eurocarparts list the shocks at £263 (for the rears, not sure on fronts). I'm dropping them off tomorrow but the technician is not in until Monday, he said it shouldn't be a problem so long as his test dyno can fit them ok. Although there are many varieties, at the end of the day a shock is a shock! I will keep you posted :). As my GS is currently up for sale with the coilovers, if it sells with them on I can always sell you my front shocks!- 28 replies

An alternative could be to look on KYB's website as i 'think' they are made by them? Get the part number for yours, then see what other models that part number corresponds to. I'm in a similar boat, I want to remove my coilovers and put the standard ones back on my 2005 mk3 gs300 se-l but both rears are leaking. I am dropping them off at a well know suspension manufacturer tomorrow as they seem to think they can repair the seals for me at a fraction of the cost of replacing..... Watch this space!- 28 replies

I have the part number from the existing shock - 48530-30590 (pic below). I take it KYB are the manufacturers? Thanks

Hi all, could somebody tell me if any of the IS rear suspension (shock absorbers) fit on a mk3 GS300 (2005/6)? I'm after a set of rear shocks for mine, proving hard to find a set for the GS without paying main dealer price so wondering if IS ones would fit? Thanks
-
Thanks all I will show the garage this thread and ask them to do the necessary checks. With the intermittency, does the ECU log everything as in when the error codes are thrown up as given time? With both of my Mercedes it logs when and how many times the errors are thrown? I'd like to think the error that comes up is the same one each time....
-
Steve - That is the one yes but been advised from a Denso distributor it will be cheaper (ie - doesn't have Toyota stamped on it!). Colin - I don't have the error code to hand but the indy is definite it is that one. They advised that Bosch / NGK are fine, they prefer to use Denso but stay away from universal and Walker ones? I'll try and get the error code from them. Oddly enough the light stayed off for a day then came back for a day, then it didn't come on this morning on the way to work? Is this normal signs of an O2 sensor? Thanks
-
Does anybody know the Denso or Bosch part numbers for the bank 1 sensor 2 lambda sensor on my 2005 GS300? The car has started throwing up an error and it came back as this at fault. Main dealer are charging silly money for the sensor so my Indy suggest sourcing a Denso or Bosch one (or NGK) elsewhere. Thanks

Shock Absorbers Lexus Gs300 Mk3 2005
fozzyf replied to Mateusz Debosz's topic in Brakes & Suspension
Interesting they are somewhat cheaper than over here! I currently have a set of BC Racing coilovers on my Mk3 GS but even on the softest setting they are a little on the firm side (this car is my daily so would prefer comfort over handling!). I may bite the bullet and buy these as well.... -
Well the car is almost finished, al of the panels are done, had a dent man remove 3 small pin dents from the passenger side - did an awesome job wouldn't have even realised there were one there! I've dechromed one side and the front grill. Splitter is back on although not sure for how long, its my daily car and have a feeling it won't last long being that low! All that is left to do are the door shuts, fit the new spacers (25mm on the rear and will move the current 15mm ones to the front) and wait for the rear coilovers to arrive back from the manufacterers. Few pics.....

Dent!
fozzyf replied to Chris111's topic in Lexus GS 300 / Lexus GS 250 / Lexus GS 430 / Lexus GS 450h / Lexus GS 460 Club
You are better off ringing around local paint and trim repair specialists, they will probably do a far better job than a main dealer paintshop. Is it bad enough that the complete panel needs painting? I've just had 3 dents removed from the side of mine, the chap has done a perfect job, you wouldn't even had know they were on there, all 3 for £90 (one in rear quarter, one in pass.door and the other in rear pass.door). -
Wrap was about £22 or so per metre +vat. Nah no wastage, I've wrapped dozens of cars now so pretty confident in only ordering what I need! Used 14 metres of vinyl which also allowed enough for door shuts (have yet to do these). Any ideas how the mirror covers come off, are they just clipped in or do I need to remove the whole lot to get to them? Chris
