  1. I'm sure prices may vary as it would be done as part of a more expensive service for me... I'd probably go Costco route if I could definitely confirm spec and were cheaper. Costco will take batteries back with no issues if they're the wrong size too. Can get a Bosch with 4 year warranty. Assume the Lexus one would only have a year.
  2. I put a post up about this recently. Still not certain on the model of battery I need. But do have a quote from Lexus to have one fitted for £95. Euro Car Parts often has 40% discount offers on, but I found the cheapest place for Bosch batteries to be Costco (if you're a member).
  3. Battery should be first thing to check, electronics do silly things when they receive low voltages. After that I would suspect a sensor. Maybe O2 or dirty MAF?
  4. I must agree, it does look great. Really utilitarian, like a G class or Defender. Will last you a lifetime if you want it to. I hope you plan to use it off road or take it on adventures.
  5. Still waiting for the postman to deliver my studs Silly weather has delayed them.
  6. Very interesting choice! Why not a normal land cruiser?
  7. I don't think it will make an ounce of difference even if 100's were asking for them. It could influence unreleased models to come, but I highly doubt they would engineer a pack to sell for cars that have been in production for years. There will have been good reasons why one wasn't offered, I'm sure it wasn't a rash decision, so a few of us asking for them is unlikely to change their minds.
  8. Driving past the museum in a couple of months. Worth visiting then? How long do I need to give myself there? Thanks!
  9. Additionally - To put the cost difference into perspective, at my current average (20MPG) i would only need to improve 0.5MPG to cover the cost of super!
  10. Thanks to this thread I filled up with super last night. Cant say I notice any difference. Will see if improves my MPG, or if I notice much after a couple tanks.
  11. Just hand fabricated at the moment (lathe). No problem to put it in CAD though, if concept is proven out. Or could fabricate some more to order. We shall see.
  12. This could be an option for you: https://www.rr-racing.com/OS-Giken-Lexus-IS-F-USE20-TCD-Super-Lock-LSD-p/osgty401-hc.htm I'd probably just change to a 2010 or later car for the cost and hassle though...
  13. Bit of progress made today. Decided to just make our own spacer. Material purchased. Hub centric and wheel centric sides machined. Stud and nut positions marked. Just need the studs and nuts to arrive before checking dimensions and doing the final cuts...
  14. I ordered from the same place. But I did get charged import duty. It was a few weeks after delivery. DHL invoiced me for it. Turns out they paid for it automatically to prevent any customs hold up.
  15. I briefly tried this out on the IS-F. Does make it sound much better, but at the risk of lost performance from heat soak. Hence why I purchased a Takeda intake. You get the extra noise, but still retain the factory cold air intake at lower RPM/Speed.
  16. Never run super. Car is tuned not to need it. 95 Ocatne is pretty good compared with the US for example. My 350Z like Stuarts S2000 needed higher though, so always ran super in that. Might need to use a few tanks of super before the car re-tunes itself to best take advantage, for anyone wanting to try it.
  17. I'll be headed down to the Monaco Classic Grand Prix. Back home via Italy, Austria, Germany, Luxembourg and Belgium. Route so far attached. Approx 2,400 miles. One fellow F. Might start a new thread for suggestions on places to visit etc.
  18. Update. I've been and purchased a 19" Audi space saver. Off eBay, like new, £70. Next steps are understanding spacer / modifications required. Any interest from RC-F owners for a conversion kit if I can get it sorted? (No promises!)
  19. So I've called Lexus Coventry. Waiting to hear back on price and spec. Euro car parts gives me 3 options and I have a sneaky suspicion none are the right version. Does anyone know the correct code? I think it could be 005. If so, Costco do a Bosch S4 for £70. That's £10 cheaper than ECP, even with a whopping 40% discount!
  20. When have people needed to replace their IS-F batteries? (Age and mileage). Got a large Euro trip planned for May. Little nervous that mine might give up the ghost at an inopportune moment. Voltage still showing OK on dash, not had a multi meter across it. Occasionally a little lazy to start. Mines currently 7 years old with approx 30k. Additionally, any battery recommendations? Looking on eurocarparts (40% off currently) There are a few variants matched to my registration. With varying Ah (60 to 75) and varying cranking capacities (390-630CCA) Thanks!
  21. I'm headed through the black forest later this year. Are there any particular favourite places to visit or roads to drive [ride]? Feel free to PM me as not to take this off topic. Also, I'm pretty sure its a mischief of rats. Probably more accurate
  22. Just emailed Ian at H&S to confirm prices with discount, no tips, etc. Still quite expensive for me, so need to mull it over. I think it's the £1000 barrier putting me off. Too many digits!
  23. If it's got the sound and performance gain of the H&S catback, I'd go for the TOM'S for certain. Massive name in Toyota/Lexus tuning and racing. But you will have to factor shipping and maybe import charges in. Might not make it comparable on price.
  24. You're welcome along anyway. Will be nice and close if it's Coventry! Bring a sheet of questions with you and we'll all be more than happy to help you find the right car
  25. Thanks for your efforts Paul. Possibly works out around a 5% saving, bigger would have been better, but £60 is far better than nothing! I assume fitting is not included in the online prices? In which case, are people fitting themselves? Think that's the route I'd take. 250 mile round trip for me. Much cheaper to get it posted than pay for fuel .
