  1. Nice little meet today. Pleasure to meet some of you and put faces to names. I think there were 7 F's in total? A new record! Hope everyone gets home safe. Enjoy the photo's...
  2. It can be yes. However it also works fine (maybe better) with soapy water. I made sure i used plenty of shampoo. Work a section at a time and keep rinsing the contaminants off in the bucket. Had no marring or issues.
  3. If people are thinking of clay baring their cars now we're getting some warmer weather, I can highly recommend trying a clay mitt instead. Just went over mine the other week with one and wow, so much easier than using a clay bar. Basically a reusable wash mitt with a rubber coating one side. I've got the G3 one, plenty on eBbay around £10.
  4. Do they fade correctly too? I know a lot of house LEDs dont like to dim nicely. But that could be to do with AC supply rather than DC in a car.
  5. Any issues with putting these sort of bulbs in? I know on previous cars I've not bothered due to reports of upsetting the electrics...
  6. Nice. Bring it along to the weekend meet and see if it matches up better to newer (or garage kept cars) which have been less exposed to UV / ageing.
  7. Shouldn't totally void warranty. If a suspension component was to fail as a result of, or linked to the bush, you might have an issue. But they would honour the warranty for the rest of the car.
  8. I'm wondering if Lexus revised these bushes as part of all the other suspension updates they made. Tyres did wear more unevenly on my dad's '08, but less so on his/mine '11. You'd think the type of driving would be comparable. Either that or the bushes soften with age and start wearing tyres more on older cars. Appears the RC (and RCF) see the same issue.
  9. I think the benefits of reduced tyre wear, better steering feel and greater stability (under braking for example) outweigh any added stiffness, which is said to be very minor.
  10. Around £60 more expensive than last June - Darn Brexit! Not too bad though.
  11. Sorry to dig up an old topic, but did you guys ever manage to sort out a group buy for these? Didn't have my F at the time else I would have put my name down! I'd be interested in a set if anyone has any, or there is a group buy arranged. Cheers.
  12. That's the spray. The gel or paste is more concentrated. I picked some up on eBay. £5 delivered. Said it was 150ml but I got 500ml! Item number 131844246449
  13. My F is 6 years old (20,000 miles) and until now the wheels have regularly been cleaned but only with car shampoo. Unfortunately this left quite a nasty build up of contaminants I was determined to eradicate. I thought I'd share my experiences in case anyone else was in the same boat. Usual wheel cleaners wouldn't touch the vast majority of embedded brake dust. So I turned to IronX spray - A PH neutral cleaner, designed to dissolve contaminants. This helped shift more than the regular wheel spray, but there was still lots left. First image shows Where I was at following the IronX spray. You can get an IronX gel which clings to the surface longer and should provide better cleaning. I gave it a try and was amazed. Image 3 shows the gel in action, the purple is the gel at work, dissolving all the nasty stuck on grub. Image 4/5 shows what I was left with. I was very pleased! I also took the wheels off, and used the same stuff on the inside (also caked in grime). Followed by clay baring the whole wheel, polishing and then finally sealing with a couple coats of Poorboys Wheel Sealant. I found I could clay bar the contaminants off without using the gel, but risked scuffing the clear coat (more polishing required), couldnt get into the corners and it also took forever!
  14. I'd recommend taking a whole week to do it properly. There is so much to see and do. Over the 7 day trip I did last year. We were travelling around 9-10 hours a day. With about 1/3 to 1/2 of that driving. The rest was taken up with many stops for photos, castles, distilleries, beaches, caves, craft shops, loo breaks, breakdowns, etc. We missed so much even then we're going back for another full week this year.
  15. Great reading Chuckie. I still have the map from trip I made last year... Works out at 1600 miles. Probably a touch more for random detours. 36 hours of driving (not including the many, many stops) over 7 days.
  16. Hopefully not hijacking! Some photos I dug out from my NC500 tour last year. Can't wait to get back up there.
  17. Maybe picked up a cable, strip of plastic, or something from the road and it's become entangled and tightened around the spoke before breaking off.
  18. I went with a group of seven (ish) cars. Never had a problem with passing points. If there is an on coming car, you just get right of way as they will wait at the passing point for you. I'll have to dig some photos out, beautiful roads and scenery...
  19. Road trips are a must if you own cars like these. Already got a trip round Scotland planned with fellow car nuts this summer. NC500 and everything in between. Probably be something like 2000 miles all in. Did it last year in my 350Z and was probably my most memorable drive to date.
  20. They quote a depreciation of nearly 24K. But all depends on what you paid for the car new. My parents have got an RC-F on order at the moment, they did not pay 60K... Keeping these cars for a year or 2 isn't financially the best thing to do either. They will take a steep drop in year 1 and 2 but will steady up after then. Don't expect to see these below 30K for the next couple years at least.
  21. You always have to be quick getting on the list for these. I've only ever managed one, at Morgan HQ. Missed out on Silverstone and Prodrive. The list for that went up yesterday, and by time I read it, there were already 250+ cars on the reserve list.
  22. Been meaning to get myself some PoE cameras too. I plan to wire them into my home network, and record video on a PC I always leave running (media server). Fitted some HomeMonitor Y-Cam cameras for my parents. They have WiFi / PoE and dont need a recorder. They stream everything to the cloud and you can view them anytime from your phone (via an app) or online. I'd recommend the dome type cameras, bullet ones i've fitted need dusting weekly to keep them clear from cobwebs! Think little spiders are attracted by the warmth!
  23. Prices are going up in April. I believe this is to account for the new tax changes. RC-F's are all built to order now. No pre-built stock lying around like they had after the launch. So they must be selling in low volumes.
  24. Hello everyone. I'm now officially the proud owner of a 2011 IS-F, silver of course 2011 plate, a tad over 19,000 miles and totally stock. It's got the optional wheels on which I love! Terrible weather today, so not had much chance to enjoy it yet. Roll on the summer!!
