  1. I think I may have finally resolved the issue, I normally charge my phone whilst driving, using a usb adaptor in the 12v socket, rather than the usb sockets as they only charge at 450mah as that is unable to maintain the charge if using the wifI hot spot. It seems the adaptor I was using was generating interference, which with anything less than a perfect signal was causing the"no signal" problem. I know led's can cause interference with dab, so it may be the led or possibly faulty in some way, I have used another adaptor and it seems ok, the real test will come later when I try on what was previously a completely dead route.
  2. Interesting that the paperwork seems to be done before the car is presented, had I seen the car before I had done the paperwork, I would probably have kicked up a stink, as although used, the car had a very slight "ding" in the front wing, although pushed out perfectly on collection it left the wing slightly out of line, this has since been realigned, but left a sour taste, as from that point on, I felt they were just trying to get away with the bare minimum at every opportunity.
  3. Last week I went across to someone in a new jeep, water was actually running from under the car causing puddles, never seen it that bad on any other car though.
  4. Before buying the is, we looked at a Mercedes e class coupe, but it was just so unrefined and bland inside, if lexus did a similarly practical size coupe, I am sure it would compete well against the Mercedes / audi a5/bmw my.
  5. I also find the drivers arm rest is too far away (although very nicely padded)
  6. I thought it was just me that didn't like the latest trend for what looks like an I pad added on as an afterthought, what is wrong with blending into the dash , also helps with fewer reflections. I wonder what the repair cost would be when some scrote tries to rip the screen oft to fit in his saxo?
  7. 5x114.3? that's the same size as my Hyundai Santa fe, I have a nice set of 235/60/18 winter tyres, they would be good on the IS, give it a bit more ground clearance as well!
  8. Just remember, autoglym srp is a great polish, it has a slight cut to it, so will prepare the paintwork to a good finish, it also has some filling ability so is great for covering fine scratches, but will only last a few weeks if left unprotected, so needs a wax or sealant on top to protect it, my favourite at the moment is autoglym hd wax, easy to use, and will last up to 12 months, so a tub will likely be left to our kids!
  9. Although you will not lose your NCB, if you are claiming through your insurers and they cannot recover the costs, your "base" premium will still rise, but you will still receive your 50% or whatever NCB off of the premium, so you will likely still see an increase.
  10. An update, daytime the reception is tolerable, but again tonight basically from bishop's Stortford to colchester it was un-listenable, yet day time it is okay. Ho hum, back to the dealers, who no doubt will tell me they can only check it day time.
  11. Is it really a lack of power? I have an IS300h, which I appreciate is different and weighs less, but power is not an issue, are you referring to the CVT gearbox screaming when any power is needed, giving the illusion? I find the IS surprisingly swift, particularly if driven around the gearbox to keep revs down, it is so refined it feels a lot slower than it is.
  12. Petrol is now 1p more than diesel, typical, I have run diesel for the last 18 years, 7 weeks ago bought an IS300h...............................................
  13. Initially I was getting email and texts regularly through the system, however since the last update, I have had no texts and just an odd email, the phone is not listed on the compatibility list (but then not much is! ) just Somerset if anyone has got an s5 working, my wife's Sony s3 mini, and an old nexus 4 works fine.
  14. Two zero 3, that's what I normally see"no signal" although today it was much better, I think the aerial must be very weak, so in anything less than prefect conditions it struggles. My portable unit gives prefect reception, could it possibly be the signal is too strong? What is the dealers response?
  15. sorry to hear of your issue, it sounds relatively minor, but when you have spent a lot on what should be a "premium" brand which sells itself on its dealer service, it really takes the edge off your purchase. I have recently spent what for us is a small fortune on an is300h, but have now decided to probably get rid of it due to poor service, their attitude seems to be"we know best, you are wrong" and acceptable seems to be acceptable, to me acceptable is the minimum. My previous car, which fortunately we still have is a 9 year old hyundai, and their dealers are superb, and cannot be more helpful.
  16. Thanks guys your comments make me feel better that I should get a good reception, if only the dealers can look at the connections rather than keep poncing about with useless software updates.
  17. Just here for a few days, it us my daughters graduation from Exeter on Monday, hopefully the weather will keep things a bit quieter!
  18. Thanks Geoff, we are staying in topsham, for a couple of days, and will probably visit Exmouth later today.
  19. Thanks for your quick reply, I am comparing comparing to my previous diy set up, I assumed a top spec car from a premium manufacturer known for their tech could do a better job than me! Whist the car had been in, they lent me a ct200h which seemed perfect, but then this week an is250 which seemed the same if not worse on the a12, but then better on the a120.
  20. Although I have commented about this in the"audio/sat nav frustration" post, I feel this is a different issue, I have recently purchased a used is300h premier, which is an incredible car/ piece of technology, but the one thing which is really causing me to have doubts is the dab reception, it is appalling, I live in North essex, and find I get" no signal" most of the time, yesterday we drove to exeter down the a303, still poor, and even the fm recepion was cutting out. Is this"normal"? I previously used a pure dab unit with external aerial, and rarely had an issue, as a comparison I have temporarily fitted this with a stick on internal aerial and this has better reception. This has been back to the dealers twice, but they are in a strong signal area so no problem is found, they have updated the software twice with no change (surely this is hardware-the aerial, not software related) This might sound petty, but I work 60-70 hours a week, so the only chance I get to relax is late at night when returning from appointments, being unable to listen to a decent radio station when I want is just a wind up, if I cannot get this resolved, then I will be thinking about changing the car.
  21. Even better why not just add 5p per litre to the cost of petrol or diesel, the tax is then directly related to how much you use/pollute do is only avoidable by reducing usage or being more economical. It would save a fortune in collecting as well.
  22. My thoughts as well, if the pair work is prepped properly, I, e cleaned, machine polished etc then protected then okay, but realistically it will have a 10 minute wash then the"sealant " will be applied over scratches, dirt etc. Mine was done but a month ago, but there is still moss under the window seals so when I get a chance I will clean thoroughly, Polish with auto glym srp to cut back to a good finish and then hd wax to protect it.
  23. I had a loan CT200 last week (advance?) and the rev counter stayed on, if changed in the settings, however using cruise, removed the fuel consumption screen instead, but returned if I pressed the mode button on the steering wheel.
  24. Does it not just replicate what is on your phone? So presumably you need to delete from the phone? I have a galaxy s5 and have only received texts intermittently but not at all since the last update.
  25. The V60 PHEV is a great bit of kit and I would have liked one of those, if it wasn't for the small boot. Talking about MPG with a plug in hybrid is even more misleading, as the amount of electric running makes a massive difference, what does it do once the batteries are used? IE diesel only? Personally I think a larger hybrid battery capable of 5-6 miles at up to 40-50mph would make the car far more efficient, it could then charge up when out of town, and would allow much greater use in town, currently I can fully charge on a longer run, but the battery runs out too quick in town, the ICE firing up too quickly, I think with a larger battery 55-60mpg would be easily achievable?
