  1. That's the issue...finding a good one. I am given up now on Lexus and will probably get a boring Toyota Corolla. IS250T would be great but fuel being what it is could be a problem.
  2. Ok bad news ..the 68 plate CT200h Premier I saw at the weekend was an unloved example with so many dents, kerbed alloys, scratched dash(caused by a dog I think) I walked away. A shame really as it was an excellent drive. There were a few other things that were below par for a luxury marque. So after careful thought, I don't think I will get a lexus now. There is a gap in the market since the IS300h was ditched..thanks everyone and good luck.
  3. Excellent car.....my neighbour has one. I previoulsy had an IS300h for 4 years. Never missed a heartbeat. I am no longer in the company car scheme so need a rock solid reliable car for personal use. IS300h is quite expensive and stock is low. So have found a CT200h Premier 68 plate, 28k, miles and £16k from Lexus, service activated warranty etc. This will be my daily driver. Need to think about the CAT guard..does anyone have the official Lexus one?
  4. Yes I thought about that too. There are a few on the used market but I found the ES300h and Camry too big for everyday use. The IS300h hit the sweet spot with me. I think the CT late model is the way I will go. An F sport or Premier model .I can't find a decent IS300h in a week or 2. Clearly there is a gap in the market with withdrawal of the IS300h from UK lineup.
  5. Hi all an update....I've decided to get a CT200h as my daily driver. A 2020 F sport model..it's getting increasingly difficult to find good cars these days. I will ditch my company car and return to the Lexus fold.
  6. All enthusiasts cars are being killed off in the UK. The LC500 for example. If you believe in the climate change agenda, cars are responsible for all things wrong with the world. Hybrid is a good compromise. EV's are ok but the UK charge network is way behind other countries such as Norway. I do hope the IS300h comes back to the UK. And the IS500 ...who knows.
  7. UK sales were very poor over 2020 to 21 period. Not everyone wants an SUV but the trend is in that direction. The car manufacturera created this cross over market mainly to meet demands of family cars. Still prefer a saloon anyday of the week.
  8. Interesting responses from everyone. So I guess others can also see the huge gap in the UK lineup since the CT and IS were dropped. Since my original post I've seen a few ES's out there. Really not made for UK roads in my view. Looks like a limo and not agile at all. So I think I will be returning to an IS300h late model as my car for 12 to 18 months. Gen 3 Hybrid I know but that's unavoidable. I also had a look at the new Corolla with the 2 litre engine. Now that has some great specs. The new Prius isn't an option for me at this stage as I won't be leasing. Maybe in 2 or 3 years. Interesting times. Hope Lexus realizes they have a gap in the market which will be filled by someone else unless they plug it.
  9. UK sales figures are located online...only 61 model IS sold in 2020...which was expected. That's why it was canned. A million taxi drivers swear by the IS300h. Anyway, thanks for all the replies. Good luck with your own choices. I don't think Lexus knows how many sales they are losing by not having the IS in the UK. Nit everyone wants an SUV. I guess the market research says otherwise. So it looks like a mid sized German saloon for me. Or may consider something else from the Toyota line...maybe a Corolla hatchback.
  10. For me the CHR is ok but not comfortable on long runs. The current IS300h available in the UK is Gen 3 hybrid. My Gen 4 Prius was super efficient. I guess the UX would be ok but seems like a step backwards in terms of class of car. If you want the latest generation hybrid then it has to be a new model. I don't think Lexus realizes there is a demand for mid sized saloons. BMW, Merc and Audi still do them so why not Lexus ? The ES is an excellent car but more of a limo than for everyday use. Can drivers are now acquiring them for the same reason. I may have to get another IS300h 2020 model to at least stay with the brand. Else it's back to the Germans for me. Tesla was an experience but it's not there yet.
  11. Hello all, is it me or does there seem to be a lack of cars in Lexus range. For those who don't want an SUVz there is little choice. Having had an IS300h for 5 years, I then had a Tesla, a Prius and now a Toyota CHR. The IS is sorely missing from the UK lineup. I don't want the ES as it's huge...4.9 long is a pain to park in everyday use. The UX is too small..the CT has gone. So come on Lexus being back the IS to the UK. I have to change my car in 3 months and don't want to return to the Germans.
  12. The Tesla is not a comfortable car in any way. It's fast and harsh. But as a company car..costs me nothing.
  13. Ok thanks all..my company no longer offers EV's. Restructuring on going. I used to have an IS300h and it was great. Zero issues in 5 years and 60k miles. So have to get my own car now but economic outlook isn't great and don't want to commit to a long private lease. So Lexus is my choice. Tesla Model is end of lease now. Battery technology is improving all the time so will return to EV in 2 years or so. Hyundai and Kia currently have the best EV's. Toyota (Lexus) has been very late to the game. Whatecer your views about EV's, its that way forward now. I just hope Lexus survives the move to electrification. Toyota ousted it's CEO last week. He was quite anti EV. New CEO is now ex Lexus CEO, so let's see what happens. Next IS could be electric.
  14. After 18 months of the EV experience I am looking at returning to Lexus I had an IS300h for 5 years. I've looked at the ES300h but feels it's just too big for my needs. The IS I had was great but seems a bit dated now. Disappointed Lexus isn't bringing to he new model to UK. The safest option is the IS300h F Sport or higher for me. The Tesla was great but returning it as lease is over. The charging experience hasn't been great. The Lexus was much better overall in terms of experience. I don't feel like getting another EV just yet. I had the Advance model previously so F Sport is my target. Does anyone have any thoughts about the model choice ?
  15. Ok I finally made a decision. I couldnt get the price down to a acceptable level. So I have decided to give up my Lexus IS300h Advance of 5.5 years for a Tesla Model 3. The model 3 is a standard range plus - not the one I wanted but better than nothing. I will be sad to see it go as its been 100% reliable. Its very likely I will return to Lexus in the near future.
