  1. I know the mazda 6 around them years are rust buckets. Dont know if the MX5 is the same.
  2. Yes a well put together vehicle is the lexus. Comfy quiet good heaters and a fantastic audio system. Where was the car from.
  3. Guy at work has one says it a belter, drops roof down in secounds. Japanese reliability good handling had no issues. His is the 1.8 2008 had it a couple of years.
  4. It wont fail mot, 5000 is not that blue. 6000k and above upto 12000k is when they go bluer to purple in colour. I would opt for something around 40.00 a pair. Wont last as long as oem, but bulbs start to degrade after a certain time anyway. Should last a couple of years any way.
  5. I just had a quick google. There is a how to on the forum, also states the bulb. Osram CBI D4S
  6. Yes a right pain for sure. Just buy them from ebay. Dealer will want £100.00 a bulb. How do you know they have never been changed. Its not only that, Philips 0sram are the better quality ones. Does it not say in the owners manual.
  7. Take the one that flickers out, and it will have which make printed on it.
  8. The clutch would be a dual mass i imagine. Fly wheel already ftted.
  9. Looks beautiful love the grey colour, looks like a blue grey. Looks like Giblet has a good eye for finding stunners.
  10. It is also best to replace them in pairs. Osram are also a good bulb, dont buy the cheap, they are cheap for a reason. 4300k - 5000k are the best ones to get.
  11. I am not knocking you mate, we have all been there and got the t shirt. This is my first lexus and i love it to bits, its not been without issue, hand brake not holding brake isue which most modern cars have. Rear caliper issues had that on the octavia. I reserched the faults before buying. Parts when needed will be expensive, so hoping i dont need many. Im lucky i am pretty hands on, my next job will probrably be spark plugs. Done all the brakes including handbrake. I apreciate your honesty and hope you love the jag. Stay on the forum mate, most cars are similar really just a different badge.
  12. If the car had been lowered and messed with i would of walked away at the start. Admitted you say you didnt know, did you not test drive the car. When i bought mine, speed bumps was the first place i asked for. You need a good half an hour, at least on a test drive. If the owner wont allow walk away. All roads types put windows down no music and if your not happy plenty more out there. It seems strange did you buy the first one you saw.
  13. Im not knocking you mate, some cars can be like that from the off. my boss bought a new audi after 80mls broke down, electronic throttle took 3 weeks to fix. New mini diesels are a load of as well, people i know who kept braking down is unbelievable. There is not a car made with out problems, just some you never get to the bottom of. Good luck with the jag, make sure shes solid underneath.
  14. Real shame but jags have their own bad points. There is no need to walk away from the forum, people dont only own lexus cars on here do they. I am on many forums, because the more people you querie over faults the better chance of an answer.
  15. I always carry some spray for bird stuff and a couple of microfibres.
  16. Never herd of it to be honest. Just goes to show how easy lacquer can be damaged.
  17. Its not only Vw group cars it affects. You are right, chemicals used today in products we trust. And dont know the damage they are doing, food for thought.
  18. http://www.markwilso...i-paintwork.htm Just read this on briskoda forum very interesting.
  19. I would not let kwik fit any where near my vehicle, have you got issues with tyre wear. All this new hunter 4 wheel system is a load of rubbish. Only front tracking can be adjusted, and i would be very weary of some body not knowing what they are doing. I havent had tracking done for years. New wheels and tyres on present car included. Just count the turns on the track rod ends.
  20. As Newbie says twice a year isnt much of a chore. An hour taking your time tops, did mine when i bought it. Did them 2 weeks ago when doing parking brake. Will do them again around june time, skodas are the same. A bain but saves a lot of cash in the long run, and copper grease a must on back of wheels.
  21. What does oem look like/ i bought metal off ebay about a fiver. Looked same as ones all ready on when i bought the car.
  22. Yes seems to be the case, seems not a lot of people use them unless full time detailers.
