Have you a turbo pipe leak or brake fluid leak. Does the air con work has the pump stopped working? Dont keep starting the vehicle without looking for the cause. If smoke is present its not a good idea to keep driving is it. Whats the mielage turbo may have gone. Is it white smoke or blue??

I always tighten my own wheel nuts, that way i can undo if needed. I would replace the lot on that hub, and check the rest.

Okey john im not having a go at you, as you have had it done you are our eyes and ears, as to what is and is not done. They would not start on a hot engine straight away. Especially when its fuel related, strange the part was not replaced only a washer.

So doing the visuals took how long compared to the recall work ? seems like a pr stunt and then some. My car is old like yours , but i get compliment you would not believe. SO what is it all about then, how long did they have your vehicle ? Did you give them permission to do these checks on your car. My wheel key will not be going with them, i look after my cars a dam site better then any of these so called mechanics. Think i will phone lexus bradford, and find out why mine is needed for 2 days ? Exhausts may be pricey, but if a standard exhaust can last 10years plus what is the price? Are they over the 1000 pound mark? After market full system would be similar or more. I know which i prefer. I would keep away from second hand as better the devel and all that.

Lexus wont patent the parts, thats why they can charge what ever.

I have had after market on other vehicles. Stainless steel always have them as near to oe sound as possible, can not understand why people think you can live with the drone on a daily basic. Go to a centre where you live, may be able to make yours less noisey. Always buy resonated quieter all round.

While doing this work enquired about doing the plugs as save me time as most of the parts would be off. Inlet manifold etc. Got a call tuesday saying they need the car 2 days as spark plugs is a big job? When i pointed out its a 2 hour job at the most , the guy just kept saying its a big job i told him it was not. They wanted the car mon & tues, i said thursday and friday would be better as i work permanant nights and friday and saturday are my days off. I have just done oil and filter changes. Plugs are about due so hence kill 2 birds with 1 stone, as far as i know nothing else is due. Car had a full service at 49,000 miles on just short of 54,000 now.

Is the travel due to air in the system, low pads is the fluid low. On my is 250 handbrake was rubbish when i took the rear hub off all the handbrake parts were in bits. I bought new shoes but all parts were like new, Put back together and had to have them just binding. Passed mot ok and been fine since. Adjusted by the cog in the hub. I believe they can be done underneath the car after removing the covers.

Recall is for fuel pressure sensor located at the back of the engine. But intake manifold has to come off hence get the plugs done. Campain is CGG28

Yes thought i may as well car wants them next year anyway. I would of done them myself but all major parts are off, so seemed daft not to really.

Well called bradford cars booked in 17th of june. Doing the plugs for 166.00 vat included really pleased. Cars been picked up and dropped back home. Lovely lady Amanda could not do enough, what a difference from leeds Lexus. Said cars needed three quarters of the day. Locking wheel nut is required? just recieved an email leeds called as well but took Rayaans advise.

Well some good may come from the recall then. Called Lexus leeds awaiting a call back, receptionist said whoever was not available. Had a look on utube if the part is the same one, manifold does come off. It appears there is a need to do a torques setting with a special tool needed to perform it. So a big save on labour costs could be a win for me. 245,000 american vehicles have been recalled.

Does the inlet manifold have to come off. If it does i will enquire about doing the plugs and saving doing myself, and a big cost as its pretty easy after that is removed.

Is the sensor replaced as well, or just the gasket. Did you push for a courtesy car or was it offered.

Just recieved a saftey recall for a fuel pressure sensor gasket. As the car is 9 yrs old and dealer is a fair way away, also i work nights is this a hard job? a long job? or a difficult job? any body know or done this.
