  1. I have already looked at upgrading brakes. Have done so on most cars i have owned. On the plus side lexus are not bad brakes ,compared to skoda vrs. Which are terrible at fading. And saying a tyre does not suit a car is ridiculous. Is is not a sports car i agree, i own 3 sets of lexus wheels 2 summer and 1 winter. My winters have michelin pilot sports on is that also overkill. My summers have falken and dunlops on, so as you can see i run a varity of tyres. Best on Is so far is Goodyear. So you dont run good years on your Is what do you run?
  2. Tyres are what keep us on the road. So buy what you are happy with and can afford. And to say they are wasted is utter rubbish.
  3. I think all good years have soft side walls. Thats why they ride so nice. Another plus point . is good side walls to protect rims.
  4. I have just bought the Asymmetric 3 all round. Not done lots of miles as of yet. Super quiet and very grippy brilliant in the wet. I nearly bought the efficent grip, as rated very highly.
  5. I bought a pair of michelin pilot sport nearly new for 15 pounds thats why they are on. And yes i run 225 40 18s front and 245 40 18s rears which is correct for 8j rims.
  6. I am on after market wheels i bought the tyres and had them fitted. On the standard 17 inch rims which are 8j I run 225 45 17 front and 245 45 17 rears. On my winter wheels which are standard lexus 8j , i run 225 45 17 front and 235 45 17 rear.
  7. I cant comment on all season tyres, what i would say. Why would a company make an all season tyre so you are not buying 2 set Summer and Winter tyres i own both, coming from front wheel drive. Not a bad winter last ,but will put them on again thiis year. In the wet they are something else especially below 7 degrees. Can you justify owning 2 sets can you store them when not in use?
  8. Yes japanese paint work is soft , one of the reasons i applied Gtechniq coating. Did not have the new one when i did mine, I used C1. I am going to detail my car in a couple of weeks , using a scholl honey pad and scholl S20 compound. Which is a fine cut and gloss finish. Rupes bigfoot polishisher 15 throw. I did it when i purchased the car ,and have done a couple of black cars recently which were a knightmare. Black needs to be done on really cool days, heats up like nothing else. Coatings are easy to do just prep the cars properly. wash clay ip wipe down, so paint work is squeaky clean.
  9. Yes chain driven thats yorkshire talk, belt shock what ever you southerners call it. If your competant these are easy jobs mate.
  10. I have changed them when they have blown. Always carry spare bulbs for what ever lights i have, never had a belt yet. If you feel better removing battery leads by all means do it.
  11. Well i never disconnect leads as long as lights are turned off . Dont see the point wear gloves yes, Expensive if you touch them.
  12. Xenons last longer are a lower wattage than standard , Brighter if you concider how long the life span is, they are not that expensive. They run off a ballast which powers them up.
  13. It wont do any good mine are not hid lights . Just an aftermarket kit. These are the bulbs you need. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenon-Philips-Genuine-OEM-Bulb-D4S-4300K-for-Toyota-Lexus-etc-/282110239432?hash=item41af14a2c8:g:Le0AAOSwdzVXk0o8
  14. Use Phillips or Osram best bulbs. Bulbs deteriorate over time and lose there brightness.
  15. 4300k are oe equitment i run 5000k. 6000k are blueish and then the higher the number the darker the lights. I think after 5000k they look rubbish and i want the road to be lit up. Only my opinion mind its whatever you think.
  16. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Xenon-Philips-Genuine-OEM-Bulb-D4S-4300K-for-Toyota-Lexus-etc-/282110239432?hash=item41af14a2c8:g:Le0AAOSwdzVXk0o8 These are what you require.
  17. Hi can see you have xenons, when they are going that is what they do. I would replace both of them. You dont have to buy from a dealer But are a pain to replace any light on lexus.
  18. Yes they do, leave room for about 5 gallons of petrol as well.
  19. Yes i had the fuel pressure seal done ,Lexus bradford. When i enquired about the air bag, did not know when it would be.
  20. Yes i have friends with hondas and others that are been recalled. Some one on the forum wondered if they could take there car to toyota. If its the air bag recall ,i may enquire my self toyota is on my doorstep.
  21. I know not quite a lexus brother in law had a letter for a recall today. Toyota Avensis 54 plate, hes had a stearing rack year before last. When i went on page for recall does not state what its for. I wonder if its the airbag??
  22. When they say permant, for 30.00 may last a year or 2 depending on the conditions the car sees. I am goiing to recompound my car in a couple of weeks and i will reseal for winter.
  23. Do you mean a permant sealer or waxes. This is what i use. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Gtechniq-C1-Crystal-Laquer-Sealant-30ml-/262537346260?hash=item3d2071fcd4:g:GEMAAOSwmtJXaN3i
