  1. You could ring these see what the gains are. http://www.jrtuning.co.uk/remap/viewdetails.php?make=Lexus&model=IS250&engine=2500i+208bhp+2005%2B http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/OBD2-OBDII-Performance-Chip-Tuning-Box-ECU-Remap-Lexus-IS-250-153-kW-Petrol-/261491238021
  2. Well that was a good call, must be a set price if having fuel pressure sensor done?? Loads on utube about water pump, its a big lump thats for sure. Any noise on the pump or just leaking. Price would be dependant on the dealer i imagine. Give them a call see what they say. Could be covered i cant comment myself.
  3. Spark plugs are due at 60,000 miles, if they have not been done you have missed a big opportunity. Its a big expense and you could of saved a lot of money. As the inlet manifold was already off the car i payed 160.00. You could be quoted anything for the plugs. Water pump is also a job not for the faint harted. There is a dpf of service plan on the forum i believe.
  4. They are comfy quiet well specked. beautifully finished inside and out. Paint work is soft wheels are made out of the worst material known to man. Not the fastest by any means, but as the speed limit is 70 they do the job. Brilliant stereo heating and cooling. Not had to change a bulb as of yet. Instruments are easy to read everything is to hand. Could of done with sunglass holder { sel do i think. } I dont drink or eat in my cars so not interested in cup holders. Bigger boot or drop down back seats would be usefull. Everbody has different needs so you will get lots of different answers.
  5. I run Goodyear Eagle 3 brilliant quiet tyres, running on 18 inch wheels.
  6. Yes when you open the bonnet take the front cover off, and you will have a good view of the belt. This is a job you can do yourself. Have you added oil recently a little spilt on manifold would also cause what you say. Also brake fluid smokes as well.
  7. Are the wheels and tyres same size. My car is in sport mode all the time, and im a spirited driver. So cant see how any damage done there. Is the battery ok nothing much else on that side. Is the pulley belt in good condition also.
  8. That is a good price for a cat back system. System from Lexus circa 2,300 pounds, and yes they dont have to be loud. Seems after market claim all these power gains hence the noise as more free flowing. In the real world 5 bhp gain would not even be noticed.
  9. I think gearbox is sealed for life and can not be changed. You would have a dipstick for it, and we do not. Also iv not seen a drain plug under the car, When mines been on the pits at work. The rattle on the window iv not had, 60,000 mile service is the spark plug one in the Uk.
  10. I agree not enough cars to offset the interest. In america they are very popular, thats why a stainless exhaust can be had for around £300.00. Also loads of different wheels, twin turbo systems air rides the lists go on.
  11. Most systems are cat back , as you state hate to think what stainless cats would be. There is loads of systems from Us for about £600.00 at the moment. I looked at the J2 myself last year, was about 800.00. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/J2-ENGINEERING-DUAL-TIP-CATBACK-EXHAUST-FOR-06-12-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-4GR-FSE-V6-/231473794039?hash=item35e4e9cbf7:g:ERUAAOSwEetV8PMw http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-2012-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-65MM-DUAL-3-5-MUFFLER-TIP-CATBACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/131355762127?hash=item1e9569ddcf:g:sD8AAOSwaB5XvdGp http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2006-2012-LEXUS-IS250-IS350-65MM-DUAL-3-5-MUFFLER-TIP-CATBACK-EXHAUST-SYSTEM-/131355762127?hash=item1e9569ddcf:g:sD8AAOSwaB5XvdGp
  12. Depends on the system you require, I would think 800 - 1200 as a ball park figure. Stainless isnt for every one, Most are a lot noisier than mild steel.
  13. Have a look at this place. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112080146265?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/172004825364?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649
  14. I would guess a leak somewhere. Go to a good aircon place, ask them to put dye in to the system. This will then show if or where it is leaking. Its normally the rubber seals that perish, but coul be a pipe thats gone. Normally its a free service hence only pay once.
  15. Welcome Grant cracking looking car you have there.
  16. Why dont you ring them, and explain inlet manifold has to come off to do both jobs.Thats what i did let them know you know whats involved for both jobs. The fuel pressure sensor gasket is at the rear of the engine.
  17. Cars all done hes picked it up, i will ask him if it was just checked or replaced. Its the inflator thats replaced behind the airbag. Cant be a big job, as did a check over the car as well.
  18. Took brotherinlaw to have his toyota avensis done this morning, said it takes about one and a half hours. { Thats the air bag. }
  19. Well this is the part mate, im sure if you look around you will find its location. Looks like its on the left hand side of the engine. Accordind to picture of a diesel engine.
  20. I also use clay bars, bilt hammer do 2 or 3 differenent grades. I always buy the lightest grade, but as my car is iron x etc its very good body wise. I use a tar remover as well which do a great job. Clay bars are good for making wheels like new also.
  21. Yes i would if it sounds like grit. Dont rub hard with clay mitt, and make sure you use plenty of soapy water. Also dont do it in circles, go back and forth or up and down.
  22. When you have washed the car and dried it, Get a clear cheap plastic food bag, or use your fingers and very gently rub over a panel and if you here a noise like sand paper i would clay bar the car. If you do one test panel, you will not believe how squeaky clean it is. Try on a lower bumper panel, or inside of the door.
