If its not loosing coolant seems to rule out head gasket. Have you flushed the system out.

I wouldnt be bothered and im picky. Reason as soon as you go over a large speed hump,or hit a big pot hole it will just be the same. And you will be £150.00 lighter. Seems expensive for a bumper repaint anyway, painter i use would charge around a £100.00.

Temp sensor were big issues on vw group cars. Hence a cheap buy and possible cheap fix. No warning lights on the dash does not help. Is there anybody near you with same engine, change parts over see if it works.

As i already said ballast i use, headlight bulbs are h11 i believe its in the hand book. The ballast are not cheap but are fitted with a chip 3year guarantee, instant fire up no flickering and bright as you like. I fit 5000k bulbs hate the blue tint.

I also use unlit roads finish work at 1.30am. Never use my high beams. Like i said every ones different, and can recommend something different. Hence buy what you think may or may not work, for your budget.

Are you near a toyota or lexus dealer? Their bulbs would be similar price and last upwords of 5 years i imagine. There is lots on ebay, i dont rate halfords bulbs at all. Its personal prefrence really. Are you after the hid look ? I have Hid kit in normal driving 5000k. Standard main beam bulbs 3000k hid yellow fogs . Cree bulbs for side lights. Leds inside. I would not change my main beam bulbs from original, and to honest cant remember using it. Hids are that good if you get the new kits. Somebody may come along,and not agree with me at all. I would avoid these so called better bulbs, iv had nothing but trouble with them. They may be brighter but most dont last long at all. Just from my personal experience using bulbs of this sort. I see you get a years garantee and made by phillips, but seem a tad expensive as well.

You are right its not a performance car,that goes for the handling as well. I have done all of that, and wanted a comfy refined car with good reliability. Well specked not the best looking but not the worst either. People comment on a nice car { oh you have a lexus } very nice. And yes it is very nice, no knocks bangs creaks what so ever. Brilliant heater and a stereo to die for. Nicely weighted steering no wind noise, that i have herd. Wish i had bought the Sel now, i like sunroofs and am not one for windows open. Not brilliant mpg but did not expect a 2.5 litre auto to be. I will only change this for another Lexus. I keep cars for a pretty time reg number chasing is not my thing. I look for low mileage cars when replacing with another. Thats just me and everybody is different. I leave mine in auto with pwr on as normski advised and cars fine.

There are not a lot of is250 at all in the uk. Travelling for cars is something that should be done really. Look at a few drive them get to know if there is any little niggles. Try all the switches does the mileage confirm the condition in and out. Get a vehicle check best £3 you will spend. Wheels are a bain on these cars make sure they are in good condition. Apart from that they are pretty bomb proof, cam chain so no belt to worry about. Space saver spare not a lot of boot room, no folding rear seats. Like i say will it suit your needs? Try before you buy, dont be rushed by sales men. If they say others are interested say you have others to see and if it goes so be it.

You are right mate looks hideous, seen it myself. Have you looked close at the car? It has rear view camera, no front sensors. Heated cooled seats no xenons easy to fit hid kit. I would look around for a fully specked Sel with sunroof etc. Wish i had but mine has most toys so am happy. The lights you are on about are after market. You can also get led rears. Some Sel also have light door sills look really cool,and cost a lot of money to buy as an extra.

Turn it to full, then lower when your at a comfy temp.

Whats the milage could it be the cam chain, is it serviced regular? As above says could be anything really.
