  1. Hi yes a fellow members car not mine. Dont know abut the sizes i run 225 / 40 /18s & 255 / 40 / 18s on 8j rims all round team dynamics and also on goodyear f1s all round and arches are plenty full. When you lower it it may look what you are after, failing that hubcentric wheel spacers, is what you may have to do. Also longer studs would also be required. Possible some body who mods will be along to sort you out. I have run spacers in the past and to be honest, more trouble than they are worth. My car is as is i quite like the way it looks standard. I would fit different suspension only because of cost of original. That is when it fails, wheels i changed to light weight as lexus are made of terrible material. Looks like yours are the rare lexus ones look very nice to.
  2. Welcome back wheel sizes are a mindfield mate. If you plan on lowering might it be best to source the wheels after, rather than before. I believe 9.5 width is doable on the rears. There is a write up on the forum under modifications. I running 19x10 on 255/35/18 and 19x8.5 on 245/35/19 and Coilovers very low not a problem This is taken from it.
  3. A lot of modern cars do not have a drain plug fitted. Another reason to go to dealers and the likes. Always altering bolts and the likes so the home mechanic struggles to keep up. I can see benefits for and against, you would get every drop of oil out of the sump. Against you still have to remove the old filter anyway. I just leave the sump bung out for half an hour or so,while i clean the filter housing.
  4. Linas i agree with you on oil changes, i personally do them at or as near to 5,000 mile intervals. For the cost it is for nothing and benefits the car engine. At the end of the day, but its each to there own. And arguments on oil is a mine field. Should use this oil or that oil at the end of the day fully synthetic oil is man made. So which ever brand you use or believe to be best just use it. Iv tried most oils and to be honest they all perform about the same.
  5. Last service i did was a full comline service kit, Oil & Oil filter Air filter & Air con filter. Total cost was around £50.00 http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEXUS-IS250-IS250C-OIL-AIR-POLLEN-FILTER-7LT-5W30-FULLY-SYNTHETIC-ENGINE-OIL-/280077199129?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus&hash=item4135e6e719:g:-msAAOSwa-dWlQ6F
  6. Hope all goes well on the seats, and yes dont want any air bag accidents do we.
  7. No it wont take the paint off, and yes they are better than the run of the mill. Interesting its the same bar as my Nilfisk and paints still on the car. This thing is built like a tank, weighs a ton so made to last. I have owned 2 nilfisk in a year and build quality is rubbish to put it mildly. so time to buy something that will last.
  8. Having never used them i cant comment on your missfortune. I just saw the add and put it on the forum for those who may be interested. I have had bad dealings with many companys, yes they lie and say stuffs posted and when you complain it turns up. As of the stock you cant please every one can you. But what is there is a good deal, compared to normal rip off price would you not agree.
  9. Big sale on if anybodys interested. http://www.autobritedirect.co.uk/index.php/sale-items.html
  10. I just had my drivers seat in for warranty work a few weeks ago and I'm glad to say that my issue is gone. I was feeling movement in the seat if I applied the brake abruptly and let off. Turns out, the tracks were worn out. The dealer replaced the seat tracks and the seat is now super solid. The tech tried to say nothing is wrong at first but then I had them follow me to the brand new GS350 F Sport and shake the seat, no movement. Mine was moving like crazy. Found this on a us forum Gs350 sport 25,000 miles.
  11. Do you mean the seat runner where its atached to the seat? They are normally bolted on, does the seat back rock is that what you are feeling. After such a low mileage, only way seat would have play would be if owner was on the large or heavy side. Was there play on the test drive?
  12. Absolute rubbish have you looked at the bolts at the bottom of the seat? Probrably torq bolts check there tightness sounnds like seat may have been out. Is there another garage you could try. Get somebody to lean on back of seat while you look underneath, see whats happening. It wont be loads of movement as it will be exagerated when you are sat on it.
  13. As above thought i would treat myself, bought this german machine and if it works like it looks all should be good. Thing weighs in at 31 killos brass head, stainless steel pistons and big wheels to move it around. Any thought any one use any Kranzle products, good or bad appreciate your comments. Not the weather in York at the moment its lousy with sleet forcast.
  14. If caliper is seized, the disc would soon become hot seen them glow before.
  15. Sounds like it, one way of finding out is it to hot to touch. { Be carefull mind. }
  16. Well thats a good price with it been a genuine denso, they are not a cheap item.
  17. Yes hind sight is a good thing, at least your up and running. Did you buy the alternator, or the garage who did the work.
  18. I do exactly like you, My octavia was like a river off the spoiler. Seems to be the shape of modern boots im afraid.
  19. Nice one herd they were a pain to fit. Main thing all done, did they change the belt while they were at it.
  20. Mine plays up from time to time, normally if iv been playing cds a bit on the loud side. To be honest i hardly have radio on,but it is a pain also if rear screen is on a waste of time completely. So normski has probrably hit the nail on the head.
  21. Whoever does the alternator, will be able to see any soot marks or melted wires when its off the car. Nothing worse mate always a wrong time when bits fail. Always seems to be winter time when its damp and cold.
  22. You should be able to check the wireing. As for fuse not that i know of, normally when alternators go mate its bushes or the wireing thats fried.
  23. Well done you, just shows the true cost of these exhaust systems. Welding is an art i never fettled, so good on you for not giving up.
