  1. No body is mocking you Rebecca, i have brothers who have no incline whats so ever. As above states horses for courses, i would get the stamp for one reason. Its a low mileage car so i would insist on it to be honest. I am like gary keep my cars a while as a rule. Service them roughly 5,000 miles check the brakes twice a year when winters come off march. And november when they go back on, when i do oil change i change all filters. My choice before arguments start.
  2. Good for you and yes it will be done properly, make sure they stamp your service book.
  3. It states older and newer if you watch the video. They are JDM ones . http://store.ijdmtoy.com/Genuine-OEM-Spec-Fog-Light-Replacement-p/70-60x-15w.htm
  4. I do all the work i can, helps i work in a place where i have access to power tools and Pits are also a big help. I am self taught and have done most things, changed engines clutches brakes exhausts suspension. But dont suppose Rebecca has access to or done the basics. I am not having a go at you either. As i said you must know somebody who has a car fixed by a mechanic. Ask question does the car come back clean are you satisfied with the work. Are they reasonable hourly rate, the larger the place the larger the over heads?? Have a look on google where you live, go and see them get a gut reaction. Are tool thrown all over avoid like the plague, Cleanliness is order of the day? Mechanics tools cost a lot money so any body who is not bothered about his tools, does not want to be working on your car.
  5. These are fitted in the Lexus if you watch the video. A lot cheaper also full plug and play.
  6. Looking at the wiring its plug and play. Should be 2 wires to the battery Live and Earth, and then a wire to side or dipped lights to dim drls.
  7. You must have a mechanic near you who can service your car. Major 30,000 consists of what?? Look at this and check that, i would say 0il & all filters about £70.00 in parts. New belt circa £15.00 check the brakes change brake fluid about another £100.00. if your quoted circa £300.00 would not be to bad. Also a change of anti freeze would be a good idea. My mates honda civic diesel costs about £400.00 at dealers god knows what for. Garage who do the work can still stamp your book. And you will also have the paper work for work done. You never know you may come to trust and love them. Just remember whoever does pollen filter does it the correct way. You dont have a spark plug change till 60.000 miles that is a big bill.
  8. Strange you say they can do recall work. Brotherinlaw i live with has already had the air bag work done. { Avensis 2004 } When i asked Lexus about having the Lexus done there was told a great big no. Toyota dealer less than 3 miles away. Work took one and a half hours same side air bag as ours.
  9. Yes costs is another reason people do no run winter tyres as well as our climate. The last fortnight i have come home in minus degrees, and had no issues whatsoever. I have used winter tyres for last 8 years or so. Mainly on front wheel drive cars, this is only my second rear drive car i have owned. I am going to up rate the rear anti roll bar soon.
  10. Think you have answered the question. Over inflation is not good, buy a good branded tyre the car deserves them. Rear wheel drive is different to front wheel drive. I am on winter tyres at the moment, give lots of confidence at this time of year. Do not only work in snow, You have been lucky it was such a slow speed. Try driving in snow mode when its wet, may help till you can replace your tyres.
  11. I have run with ring drls 3 wires Live & Negative and a side light or dipped beam wire. Drls come on when engine starts but go off completely when lights are applied.
  12. Drls should go to dip mode when lights are on. Not seen them fitted to the indicators, i would say illegal as they are. They are not like the modern headlights fitted to higher end vehicles. In that the indicators go to orange from white then back again. As they are so low i would wire them up to low beam, and not the indicator. So running as drl on start up, and dipped when light on dipped beam.
  13. The rear 2 i believe are a pain, wires go into car and seats to be removed. I stand corrected if any one knows different.
  14. One things for sure give the blocks a good old wack. Yes car must of been well balanced, for copper to be stood there.
  15. Look on line for body shops where you live. Ask people you know if they can recommend one, somebody will point you in the right direction.
  16. Do not go to a dealer they do not paint cars. Look for a body shop near where you live, and yes they will blend it in.
  17. A respray i would guess should cost no more than £100.00. There again your in London so probably more.
  18. Other people where i live complaining of diesel on the road. A cyclist came a cropper also different accident.
  19. Actually look like mine on the IS 250. Do not know if they are same pcd??
  20. Looks like an expensive crash either way. No Lexus dealer near me Leeds or Bradford nearest. Feel gutted for them what a start to their new year.
  21. Yes no ice about 10 degree today but damp. Police said no drink was involved so thats a good thing.
