  1. What you say is true, i have been told its 3rd and 4th gear that need the revs. And also hold onto them for a while,do not change up to quickly.
  2. Just done mine today you are correct a pain. I put 6 and a half litres in same as last time.
  3. These are the exact ones i bought. Complete with spigot rings you will need different wheel bolts. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-Team-Dynamics-PRO-RACE-1-2-Anthracite-Alloy-Wheels-8x18-5x114-3-PCD-ET45-/252447913292?hash=item3ac711754c:g:VHwAAOSwYmZXD9mi
  4. These are the wheels i bought my cars also silver. These are light weight wheels. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/4-x-18-Team-Dynamics-Pro-Race-1-2-Anthracite-Alloy-Wheels-WBA2638-/311500779043?fits=Car+Make%3ALexus|Model%3AIS&hash=item4886e4ae23:g:XAYAAOSw7FRWZgXK
  5. You could take it apart and change the light fitting over. To be honest i would just buy the right part. Where are you from as may be easier to source.
  6. Yours is a halogen light no headlight wash. Also you will need a left hand drive model light, As the beam pattern will be wrong.
  7. Yes certainly know how to charge for a bit of wire. Good for you for having a go and best of all the price.
  8. Most of us travel miles mate, i have not bought a local car in years. I have travelled as far as birmingham a good 3 hour drive. That is one way just do not think you are pressured to buy wait for the gut feeling. The right car is worth the wait, also with the convertible been even more scares you have a bigger problem than us.
  9. Is this the item. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/New-Rear-Brake-Pad-Fit-Kit-for-Lexus-GS300-GS350-IS220-IS350-04948-30210-/191933262878?hash=item2cb01d2c1e:g:6BYAAOSwXrhXmjN2
  10. Stickers are ok but not a fan of dark tinted windows. Last car i had i took them off but each to there own.
  11. Not herd of water pump failures. Brakes are biggest problem, modern cars seem to have this problem. Just grease them up a couple of times a year. Wheels i would have properly refurbished, or buy a better quality set. Had mine 18 months had recall on fuel pressure sensor. Awaiting airbag recall, think john put up a link for most faults.
  12. I would think pretty much the same as the is250s. Paying more attention to the roof mechanism, any fading of the interior due to been out in the sun.
  13. These are the ones i use. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GRANVILLE-RED-RUBBER-GREASE-500g-TUB-FOR-HYDRAULIC-SYSTEMS-AND-BRAKING-SYSTEMS-/371226885950?hash=item566ed8bf3e:g:MMwAAOSwlfxXFiuB http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Granville-COPPER-Slip-Grease-500g-Tin-Multipurpose-Anti-Seize-Assembly-Compound-/400963480827?hash=item5d5b492cfb:g:Gl0AAOSw~gRVsShA On the large size i know, but when its shared between friends its the cheapest way. Highly recommend both products, but lots do the same job.
  14. Any degreaser brake cleaner is only thinners based. Make sure you do both sides, and good look just take your time. Fronts are easy to do rears a bit more to remove. Best thing on lexus no special tools needed.
  15. Make sure you clean the discs with brake cleaner. They are coated with a film to stop rust. You have no need to open bleed nipples on the calipers. The discs float so are not held by a screw as normal. Open the brake fluid cap if you wish but make sure you put it back on. Pump the brake peddle 3 or 4 times when you are done, to bed the pads in.
  16. http://www.discskimmers.com/ This is a mobile service done on the vehicle £30.00 a disc maybe what you want.
  17. Resurfacing would not be the way i would go, live with it or replace them. Getting a place to machine them would be a knight mare i imagine anyway. I know where i live they would be only a couple of places, that could do the job. And probably cheaper and quicker to buy new.
  18. How can you say that if a stone has destroyed them. Brake discs pick them up all the time, if the discs has no lip on then i would just leave them. I would not spend over £200.00 anyway, i did front and rear for less than £150.00.
  19. Covers are cosmetic so when people lift the bonnet they are daunted. Its a ploy from the manufacturer, having said that mine are on. If a major fault occurs that is what the engine management light etc are for. I take mine off 3 times a year, to clean dust from the engine and check all hoses and belts. I personally do not think its a pretty engine with covers off. But its good every one has there own opinion.
  20. If lexus main dealers do not do it , do not take it for granted others do to. I am not having ago its well documented on the forum. I do mine twice a year november and then in march, when winter tyres go on and then off again.
  21. Mine is the same been like that since iv owned it. I have tried a few different glues but to no avail, does not help its so thin obviously some rough person man handled it.
  22. If its going in make sure they grease the slide pins, or you may not be out of the woods.
