Hi Folks, So I've been looking at making a few small changes to my IS220d, so far I've had the wheel re-done in anthracite, getting the rear windows tinted soon but one thing I've been looking at changing is the front grill. It just looks a little boring and slighly out of place to me, has anyone changed theirs at all or modified it? Cheers

Whistler, it's the standard se, I just fixed a Bluetooth adapter to the left of the gearbox and that's it. Hands free works great, no complaints from anyone. As well as playing audio thorough the car speakers for music. Combined it with a good quality windscreen mount and can play music from my phone to the car speakers as well as the sat nav at the same time.

Hi Everyone, Looking for a bit of advice. I'm getting my wheels refurbished and painted on Monday, and wondering what colour I should get them to do my wheels. The car is in Cadoxtan slate, and the wheels are the standard 17 inch one's, the same as in the link below. http://autopazar.co.uk/media/1817/Used_Lexus_Is_2007_Grey_Saloon_Diesel_Manual_for_Sale_in_London_UK.jpg FYI, not my car sale ad, just a link to a pic o a is220d with the same colour and wheels. Cheers

Engine Issues, Revs Fluctuating, Mpg Really Bad
BamBam1 replied to BamBam1's topic in Engine & Transmission
Hi everyone, Sorry for the delay in the update. I cleaned out the EGR manually and then used the EGR cleaner in the air intake. I put both treatment additives into the empty tank and filled it with BP Ultimate Diesel and ran it on the motorway for about half an hour. Since then I've had no issues, engine has been extremely smooth, barely any vibration and mpg has gone up by 4. So getting around 36/37 mpg around town which is great compared to before. I've not been using premium fuel since, just normally BP standard as it's local to my house. Definately recommend this to everyone, I'll probably use it again in about a year. -
Hi, I just had my IS in for a service and the garage (pretty decent and also have a good rep) were unable to change my fuel filter, they said that probably only lexus would be able to do it, is this right? Cheers

Terraclean

I spoke to a guy who had this done, its basically an engine clean he said. He said his car was running a lot smoother and his fuel consumption had reduced and was getting about 3mpg extra in town. It cost about £90+vat, so £108. Was thinking about getting this done but didn't want to spend that much on something that 'might' work. If you look at my other post about EGR cleaning you can see the kit that I've ordered. Not arrived yet but I'll update the post when I get it, and use it. -
Hi Folks, Looking for some help (yet again...) I've been looking online for IS220d parts, just to see what's out there and came across the Blue Print break pads, looking through the other topics I've heard that they are a decent brand to go with http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Print-ADT342163-FRONT-BRAKE/dp/B00B8WWOE4/ref=sr_1_6?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1432638387&sr=1-6&keywords=lexus+is220 http://www.amazon.co.uk/Blue-Print-ADT342156-REAR-BRAKE/dp/B00B8Z1LJU/ref=sr_1_7?s=automotive&ie=UTF8&qid=1432638387&sr=1-7&keywords=lexus+is220 For less than £20 it seems pretty cheap, anyone know how I can check if they are genuine or has anyone used them before? Thanks in advance

Cheers for the replies guys. Ok so I ordered the kit. I'm looking forward to giving this a go but last time I opened the bonnet I realised I don't know what anything is (remember earlier noob confession). Is there anywhere I can find a diagram of the engine bay detailing where the main parts are? Also would anyone have any further ideas to improve performance? Appreciate the help folks -
Hi All, I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to cars and I'm wanting to learn a bit more about them. I have recently bought a 2007 Lexus IS220D with 47k miles. The previous owner (who had it from new) just used it for city driving. Never thought much of it at the time but looking on the forums it looks like this can cause quite a bit of carbon build up, I'm wanting to give cleaning it a go myself as it looks pretty straightforward (on youtube) but want a bit of advice before i do it. Would it cause any problems if I take out the egr and manually clean that and then use this kit? http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00SJ7WBK8/ref=s9_simh_gw_p263_d2_i4?pf_rd_m=A3P5ROKL5A1OLE&pf_rd_s=center-2&pf_rd_r=18ZP1JZ3MCMDKEQNSAWE&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=455333147&pf_rd_i=468294 It's the Wynn's 3 pack (EGR Cleaner, DPF Cleaner, and Injector Cleaner), would these cause any problems for the car? Or has anyone come across any better alternatives? I thought if I manually clean the EGR then use the kit it would come out even cleaner if it's really blocked up. Sorry if it's a really stupid question, like I said I'm a car noob ;) Cheers

I got one of these: http://www.amazon.co.uk/eSynic%C2%AE-Bluetooth-Receiver-Adapter-Smartphone/dp/B00EAEWA82/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1431976687&sr=8-2&keywords=bluetooth+aux Connected the aux and charger in the armrest and placed it on the dash. You can get a flat aux cable and flat charger cable online for a few quid each so the armrest can still close easily. Fixed in a permanent position, and one button press after I turn the car on and it connects to my phone and plays audio through my speakers very clearly, has a good quality built in mic to allow for hands free calling. Set this up with a windscreen mount for my phone.

hi, do you have an aux in port? If you do then you can get a Bluetooth adapter which accepts a sd card as well as audio via Bluetooth from your phone. If you search belkin aux Bluetooth on amazon it'll show you the one I got, bit but that is Bluetooth only. There are other variatvariations which let you use USB / sd
