    MRI

Thank you. I felt quite, 'normal' but calm. Yet the texts I sent my family afterwards to say all finished, were just gibberish. Amazing and a bit unsettling how (prescribed) drugs and the brain can react. But glad I took it.
  2. I like both... Sat Nav and a map - the small A5(?) ones are great. It's always good to have a fair idea in ones head of where I am going, the roads and direction!
  3. Gave my headlights a good hand polish and clean - with that stuff that polishes and cleans them. ( Turtle? - not an actual turtle. ) They do look better. Not as new ,but certainly removed that old-car bloom. ( Also replaced the switch that opens the garage door. )

    MRI

Well... I have had my MRI scan. Feeling very spaced out still from the meds ( 4mg Lorezapam ). ( Having to correct almost every word I type.) Yes, it was better than I thought, but that was no doubt due to... Really good support from here and practical advice. Thank you so much. Doing physical exercise in the morning. Taking sedation ,took away the anxious feeling. Left me very wobbly afterwards, Music to (attempt) to listen to. An eye mask - a must; eyes closed. Excellent and caring staff all the way. Going in feet first. Listening to all the odd MRI sounds and 'engaging' with them. Having a chaperone - my wife. Having a panic button - not used. Took 45 minutes to scan. And yes, told noththing about results as yet...

I have my MRI late this afternoon. Getting quite anxious. Meds at 2:30. 🙁
  6. ... and does it still show the coloured guidance lines? Mine (camera) had died now. Loved that camera but find I can do the job just as well (almost) using the mirrors.

Dear 'colleagues', I did not expect all these brilliant comments, such openness and honesty and practical wisdom. I am truly humbled and very grateful. I have read every word and will read them all again. They will give me courage! Phil: yes, I think eyes closed is the way ahead. Thank you, David, for your supportive words. They mean a lot. Len, I appreciate the link you sent me and the practical items to note. Herbie, your, 'starfighter' suggestion is brilliant. I'll choose a spacecraft - and make it my transport! Yes, Ed, I will tell those in charge about my apprehensions - I'll be happy to do that. Philip, your thinking is spot on. Better to know either way; I agree. Malc, pragmatic and positive. I'll take your thoughts with me, thank you. Good advice about the 'heat', Shahpor, and duly noted! And thank you, David, I am sure you are right - what a team. Finally, thank you, John. I will reply to your PM. Gentlemen, I thank you all and salute you all. Your words really are appreciated.
  9. I have to have an MRI this week - quite a long one. Terrified. I am getting some prescribed Diazepam to help. Just thinking out loud really, as I know what a brilliantly supportive forum this is. And best wishes to all who ever have any sort of difficult times in their lives or those close to them.
  10. I must check my tyres... And my wife's car... And my daughter's car...
  11. Not sure I would want to turn it off. I thought it was all handled automatically anyway... Quite a few posts here in the forum about AWD. Makes for interesting reading.
  12. Also Silver - great colour.
  13. What colour did you go for?
  14. I get about 25 mpg...
  15. IF the smart repair looks as good as new, I'd be happy... Best to give them the opportunity first?
  16. I back mine up to iTunes on my Mac and back that up to a portable hard-drive and... and use a password manager. Almost a full-time job!
  17. If it's from a 'main dealer' get them to do it.
  18. RIP John. You were an inspiration and a gentlemen. Your posts were always worth reading. Piers.
  19. TPS button(?) under steering wheel(?) switched back ON?
