Ive just spent near on 9k on powder coating, anodising and chroming facilities, and hope that we wont be labelled as cowboys. Im a ISO9001 Registered company and I won the small business awards this year, so cowboy doesnt really enter into my vocabulary. :winky:

The biggest set I've seen on TV was a set of 28" chromes aimed at Hummers and the like.

Theres a Hummer Stretched Limo where I live with some enourmous rims with Spinners On - They must have cost an absolute fortune. Spinners that size can get small children and wilderbeast caught in them - flippin dangerous things

The curing process for Powder coating takes place between 170 0 210 Degrees C and takes only a short time. Most Alloy should be OK with this if it is cooled in the right manner.

You can anodise steel - its just a differen process. You boil the items in zincate concentrate prior to coating.

OK, Im having problems sourcing a Strut Brace. Ive been told that Cusco dont do them to fit the IS200, so how come alot of members have Cusco ones.

Can anyone help me with where to get one, and who makes them to fit. Thanks

I didnt have the chip fitting thinking there were massive gains to be had, I know what Im doing.

The unichip merely fine tunes the mods already in place, and should not be fitted to a standard car, its a waste of money.

As far as super-gains are concerned, I think it is too easy to buy bolt on power in the form of a SC. I am currently developing the spare engine and when finished it WILL produce power in the region of 230-240 BHP from it without any SC or Turbo or NOZ, for much less than the price of an SC installation.

SC is good as you keep the driveability, but its too easy ! Imagine what the SC engines can produce when installed onto a well developed and mechanically sound engine producing 240BHP as NA ?

I personally prefer good old fashioned dirty hands R&D based on sound tried and tested mechanical theories. For example, I built a 2.1 Pinto producing 210 Bhp with a fairly stock bottom end, only uprated big end bearings and high volume/high pressure oil pump, only loads of head work and some rather mean twin 45's on a bespoke manifold I built with semi-compressed ram-air, matched ports inlet and exhaust, massive valves and a monstor cam.

Back to basics me thinks.....We shall see chaps. :winky:

No Probs Col, I understand where you are coming from mate, I nearly went looking for the prat myself, only I couldnt find me trousers I think next year we should camp a little further away.

A big thanks to Steve for organising the event, and a big thanks to everyone I havent met before for making me welcome. The monster is cool, as is the race car (even though mines faster ), and everyones cars were spot on.

Just a note about the bbq: It was spot on ! No one in the LOC has the right to complain about the BBQ. It would have helped if everyone who said they were going had turned up, the poor lad was wandering around all chuffing day looking for LOC members who hadnt paid, instead of chillin out a bit and enjoying the weekend. The fact that he was stressing out looking for folk maybe delayed things a bit, and without the delay maybe more would have been eaten.

Maybe next year it should either be money up front, or cook your own dont you think.

All in all, a brill weekend, well done to admin, Well done all the winners and watch this space for next years trophies :)

Yep, its the real stuff, apple Schnapps, beautiful. Ive got a bottle of proper Italian Grappa aswell. I probably wont drink all this stuff, but its there for anyone who wants a tipple. More of a Port Man myself, its a gentlemans drink you see :D

I have just "happened" across half a roll of the silver fireproof cloth backed flexible heat shield, about 7m x 1m. I shall be using some of it, but if anyone needs any for anything, PM me and I will take it down to JAE for you..
